Are we done hating director Uwe Boll yet? Despite a spat of truly awful genre fare back in the early 2000s, the notorious German filmmaker has been on quite a role lately, delivering some of the best movies of his career. He's finally making what he really wants to make, and some of those films, like Rampage and Assault on Wall Street are truly inspired personal works that highlight his strengths as a visionary and storyteller. He has a distinct voice, and when the material fits, he's quite adept at bringing a powerful message to the screen.
This good work has leaked into his latest offering, despite it being a franchise sequel to one of his earlier groaners. 2009's In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale might not have registered very high with critics, but it truly capture the imagination of video game fans everywhere, and proved...

A sequel to Blubberella once seemed like a definite thing, but no one is really asking for it. It will forever be a one-off cult movie buried on Netflix, and despite it continuing to grow a steady audience, that strong fanbase seems so ashamed that they love the movie, they're afraid to ask for a follow-up. And maybe that's an okay thing.
The movie was envisioned as a direct-to-video franchise way back in 2011. A throwaway joke capable of earning quick cash with its quirky premise. The storyline followed a woman so obese, her footsteps caused explosions. In the movie, she takes on a Nazi army with her trusty duel swords, ready to slice anyone that makes fun of her.
Director Uwe Boll is pretty confident a sequel will never happen.

Genre actress and fan-fave Kristina Klebe sat down with us over the weekend to talk about her role in director Milan Todorović’s upcoming "murderous mermaid" flick (and more), and since she’s all sorts of awesome, you’ll read this. Multi-talented Klebe, best known to horror audiences for her roles in Rob Zombie’s Halloween, Zack Parker’s buzzed-about Proxy and Lucien Förstner’s Bela Kiss: Prologue, added yet another notch to her genre belt last year by re-teaming with Zone of the Dead director Todorović for Nymph (a.k.a. Mamula), a feature which revolves around two young American women who go on a Mediterranean vacation, only to uncover the watery lair of a killer mermaid hidden beneath an abandoned military fortress. “Two things attracted me to Nymph,” stated Klebe of the seemingly Thale-esque project, which was penned by Barry Keating from a story by Marko Backovic, and...

The morning’s best writing from around the movie website-o-sphere. Just leave a tab open for us, will ya? “History of Film: Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner” — Movie Mezzanine continues its excellent feature with a look at a sci-fi masterpiece not starring Han Solo. “What if River Phoenix Had Lived?” — Drew McWeeny catalogs what probably would and wouldn’t have happened if Phoenix hadn’t died that Halloween in 1993. It impacts some surprising projects and people. But mostly Joaquin Phoenix and Leonardo Di Caprio. “Eric’s Bad Movies: Bloodrayne: The Third Reich” — Eric D. Snider does battle with Dr. Mangler, Uwe Boll and some vampire Nazis. “So What Do You Do Gale Ann Hurd, Executive Producer of The Walking Dead?” — Speaking of zombies, it’s weird to think of Hurd as the Ep of that show because of how many other amazing things she’s done in her career. Here she offers a great deal of advice...

I mean, who doesn't?
With so many Nazi Zombie movies coming out (Iron Sky, Puppet Master X, The 25th Reich), how can I ever decide which will be the best? Between these, and the recent releases of Blubberella and Bloodrayne: The Third Reich, this has been a really really good year. For this kind of shit.
In Nazis at the Center of the Earth, probably based on true events, Dominique Swain and Jake Busey are scientists based in Antarctica who discover a secret Nazi base hidden in the center of the (duh! you didn't know?) hollow Earth. They are accompanied by a bunch of other young, hot scientists who were sent to do science in Antarctica. Can you believe Nazis have been hiding in the center of the Earth all this time?

*a DVD screener of this film was provided by Phase 4 Films.
Director: Uwe Boll.
Writer: Michael Nachoff.
In the Name of the King 2: Two Worlds is a sequel to the 2007 film starring Jason Statham. Here, Dolph Lundgren plays the hero, Granger. Other changes include fewer actors overall in this second film, fewer sets and fewer named actors and actresses. From director Uwe Boll, this film is likely targeted to 12 to 15 year old boys, Larpers or Boll fans. Others might find this sword and sandal styled film only lightly entertaining.
The story follows your usual fantasy film with a hero setting things right in a darkened kingdom. A double-talking king, Raven (Lochlyn Munro) sets the "chosen one" (Lundgren) to track down the "old mother" for assassination. The "dark ones" hinder his progress and when he meets the old crone, his eyes are opened to Raven's double-dealing ways. Then, enter...

Bloody Disgusting has learned that Boll World Sales in now in pre-production on BloodRayne IV, which will shoot in early 2012 for home video release next fall. Natassia Malthe returns as the title character after starring in both direct-to-disc sequels, BloodRayne: Deliverance and Bloodrayne: The Third Reich. The franchise is based on the popular videogame, with the first flopping horribly at the boxofficie in 2006 ($3.6 million worldwide). It starred Kristanna Loken as the unholy breed of human and vampire. Check out some sales art for BloodRayne IV inside, it looks as if this time around it'll take place in present day. Part III took place during WWII.

Uwe Boll, perpetrator of such cinematic crimes against gaming as Bloodrayne: The Third Reich and Alone in the Dark has thrown his hat into the video game adaptation ring yet again, this time as a producer. The game he's choosing to mangle this time? Zombie Massacre…wait, what the hell is Zombie Massacre? Find out after the break. The news from our pals at Bloody Disgusting is that Zombie Massacre will be produced by Boll but directed by Marco Ristori and Luca Boni, who previously worked with Boll on the zombie film Eaters. However, that still leaves the question: just what the hell is Zombie Massacre? Well, Zombie Massacre is an obscure 1998 game for the Amiga computer that was...

While the majority would agree that Uwe Boll is the world’s worst director, I’ve rather enjoyed the Bloodrayne films (although, I’ve yet to see Bloodrayne: The Third Reich, but check out Jon Peters’ review here).
Well, Shock Til You Drop is reporting that Uwe Boll will be directing the fourth installment in the franchise, and will once again bring back Natassia Malthe. No word on plot details or when production would start.

Bloodrayne: The Third Reich is the second sequel to a video game adaption franchise. This title is directed by the notorious Uwe Boll (Rampage), who is no stranger to the straight-to-video film market. This latest film follows Bloodrayne (2005) and Bloodrayne II: Deliverance (2007). And you might be upset to find out that Boll intends to make a fourth film in this series, based on the final scene of this latest flick *groan*.
There is an interesting element in Boll's filmmaking strategies, as another film, titled Blubberella, was filmed almost simultaneously as Bloodrayne: The Third Reich. Both films use the same characters, same actors, same sets and even the same plotline. Only the genre changes from thriller to comedy. That curious tidbit aside, Bloodrayne: The Third Reich turns out to be an average thriller, with...

If one thing is for certain about watching a movie by Uwe Boll, it's this: the viewer will likely be disgusted, in at least one capacity, in the process. Think of anything that would likely offend an average movie-goer, then slap the word "gratuitous" in front of it, and that's what you'll find in an Uwe Boll film. Bloodrayne: The Third Reich is no exception.
Unfortunately, it can't be said that Bloodrayne: The Third Reich is a straightforward vampire movie -- "straightforward" implies that there is a point to it, that it isn't a rambling and hopeless mess. It is filmmaking in rare form, somehow avoiding even the most basic storytelling principles. The most obvious is how the titular character, Rayne (Natassia Malthe), a super-sexy vampire vixen, has absolutely no drive, no motivation, no goal and virtually no reason to be in this movie. She's centuries old, and now seems...

The Film:
Holy Uwe Boll!
If his name doesn’t immediately make you smile or groan than this film certainly won’t be for you, despite the accessibility of the subject – video game adaptation, hot girls, vampires, and Nazis – Bloodrayne: The Third Reich is well, I hate to delve into cliches when writing, but damn it, here it goes: it’s easily his best film. I think maybe the cliched statement there won’t be my issue, it’ll be the paradox I just threw myself into.
I think Boll is an odd paradox. Here’s a director that to escape obscurity in the Dtv market, purposely bit his lip and exclaimed “I’m not a bad director!” only to evoke the Internet base into pouncing on top of him. Luckily, he’s somewhat protected by a small, loyal group, that agree. We all know the awful Bollness: House of the Dead,...

Fans of Teutonic trash master Uwe Boll–and yes, we know you’re out there–cite his 2005 video game adaptation Bloodrayne as one of his best efforts, filled as it is with sex, blood and sheer zippy weirdness. The movie, starring Terminator 3’s Kristanna Lokken as the “Dhampir” Rayne, spawned a direct-to-vid sequel, Bloodrayne: Deliverance (also helmed by Boll), set in the wild west in which Lokken was replaced by actress and model Natassia Malthe. Now comes the next epic, Bloodrayne: The Third Reich, also with Malthe, this time set in World War 2 and filled with all manner of bloodsucking Nazi nuttiness. Bloodrayne: The Third Reich is available now on DVD/Blu-ray from Phase 4 and in honor of this, Fango called the admittedly smoking hot actress to talk about her relationship with Dr. Boll (yes it’s true, he is) and the various freaks and geeks that populate his world.

Natassia Malthe is a regular in the films of Uwe Boll. The Norwegian stunner has appeared in BloodRayne: Deliverance, Alone in the Dark II, and In the Name of the King 2. Her most recent Uwe flick is BloodRayne: The Third Reich, in which she plays the eponymous character, a human/vampire hybrid who fights evil. The third in the BloodRayne series is now out on DVD, so we sat down with Natassia. She told us about working with the notorious director, growing up naked in Norway, and that hot girl-on-girl scene. You keep coming back to work with Uwe Boll. What makes it a good working relationship? I looked it up in an astrology book - it said we would have a really successful working relationship. We sat down with the gregarious director to talk about video games, his career choices, and working with the stunning Natassia Malthe. You do a lot of movies based on video games. Are you a hardcore gamer? I am not. My nephew is. He is a World of Warcraft addict. I told him he needs rehab. When I was young, there was only the Atari. I played Asteroids...

Before we begin, let's just say that the discourse of films can be varied and fascinating, with many critics and academic writers offering their measured takes on everything from the new "Transformers" film to "The Tree of Life." We would like to urge you to find these discussions that are actively going on at various websites and are likely more fruitful than hearing the opinion of a crackpot provocateur like Uwe Boll. And now, we cede the stage to Dr. Boll. In an interview with Screen Junkies promoting his latest, "Bloodrayne: The Third Reich," Boll was asked, somewhat randomly, his…...

BloodRayne, the popular video game series turned Uwe Boll movie franchise has one thing going for it -- Natassia Malthe and Kristanna Loken nude scenes. Loken (T-x Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines) had the honor of being the first actress to play Rayne in the 2005 theatrically released film, BloodRayne, starring Michael Madsen, Ben Kingsley and Meat Loaf (sporting one the worst wigs in cinematic history). BloodRayne only earned $3 million of its $25 million budget back, making it one of Boll's biggest flops ever. Malthe took over the role in 2007 to battle vampire Billy the Kid in the direct-to-dvd sequel, BloodRayne: Deliverance, and she recently fought nazis in the soon to be released (7/5/11) third film, Bloodrayne: The Third Reich.

Rayne, the half-human half-vampire dhampire, is an empowering female heroine who associates herself with sensual desires and the merciless slaughter of any nocturnal vampire that plagues the earth. The character first appeared in the video game entitled BloodRyane in 2002 for the popular console systems at the time. From then on, three more video game sequels have been released, the most recent was put on this past June, and the series has spawned not one, not two, but three movie adaptations; the third film, BloodRayne: The Third Reich, is the latest disaster-piece done by infamous Duetschland-born director Uwe Boll. In hopes that Rayne would finally have a decent cash return, Boll turns to a making BloodRayne: The Third Reich a prequel to the failing predecessors; Rayne must battle World War II experimental vampire Nazis, along with regular Nazis, who are created by a vile of her day-walking blood.

Phase 4 Films bloodies things up a bit with the upcoming release of BloodRayne: The Third Reich – Unrated Director’s Cut on Blu-Ray and DVD on July 5.
Natassia Malthe strikes a pose as BloodRayne.
The Blu-Rayand DVD will each carry a list price of $29.99.
Directed by Uwe Boll, BloodRayne: The Third Reich is the third entry in the action/horror film franchise inspired by the best-selling video game. The previous films, 2005’s BloodRayne and 2007’s BloodRayne II: Deliverance, were also directed by Boll.
The striking Natassia Malthe (Doa.: Dead or Alive) reprises her titular role from BloodRayne II: Deliverance in this 2010 movie, which finds the half-vampire/half-human Rayne (Malthe) continuing to live in the shadows as she slaughters vampires and anyone else who gets in her way. Set in Europe during World War II, Rayne faces a growing army of bloodsucking, undead Nazi soldiers led by Ekart Brand (Michael Paré,...

The Rapture didn’t happen, but we did finally record a new Dinner for Fiends. An uproarious, epic-sized edition that Uncle Creepy feels may be one of the best ever. We’ll let you decide on that.
This edition opens with me ranting about Dylan Dog: Dead of Night and BloodRayne: The Third Reich and ends with me rewriting Dr. Seuss, so that alone should tell you some of what to expect. From there we’ll voice differing opinions on the merits of Scream 4 and Insidious. Somewhere in there we acknowledge the existence of Priest. You’ll hear the sad tale of the agony experienced watching the new Hellraiser sequel and how the latest Children of the Corn sequel isn’t that bad, possibly because it has next to nothing to do with children or corn. Plus there's talk of Troll Hunter, Stake Land, The Skin I Live In,...

Bloodrayne: The Third Reich The horror sequel that probably, absolutely nobody was clamoring for. It does look like an improvement over the first two films, but then again, that's faint praise at best. At any rate, Bloodrayne: The Third Reich, from Uwe Boll (House of the Dead, Postal), is finally coming to DVD. After it was announced that Insidious is coming to video on July 12th, the distributor of Bloodrayne 3 has pushed up its release date (it was originally scheduled for July 12th as well), in order to not have to compete against the supernatural shocker that made scary change at the box office.

My admiration for Uwe Boll knows no bounds. The man is, simply put, a force to be reckon with. Or avoid. It’s entirely up to you. I like to steer into the skid myself, and despite his legion of detractors, I have an affinity for the guy. After all, he continues to make movies despite the vast majority of moviegoers automatically dissing his films without even having seen them, but simply by the sound of his name. That’s one hell of bad buzz for one person to generate, and yet, and yet, Uwe Boll continues to churn out films. His latest is “Bloodrayne: The Third Reich”, the third in his “Bloodrayne” series. It’s set in WWII, and stars Natassia Malthe, who once upon a time had an A-list career in the making, but it went off the rails pretty fast. Oh well, she looks good in black leather,...

It probably doesn’t take a genius to figure out that a cinematic combination between Nazis and vampires is, at best, a misguided concept. However, if one were so inclined to pursue such a ridiculous idea, then it should at least be conducted with a sense of humour or a tongue-in-cheek slant. Yet somehow, the atrocity that is Uwe Boll’s Bloodrayne: The Third Reich (2010) manages to bypass any element of entertainment and crashes head on into a world of unimaginable idiocy and tedium.

Could the third time be the charm for Uwe Boll's BloodRayne movies? We'll all find out when BloodRayne: The Third Reich hits DVD shelves a week after July Fourth. Bloodrayne 3 The MPAA has just released a new batch of ratings this week, including ratings for Monsterwolf and Bloodrayne: The Third Reich. Two thoughts that instantly spring to mind are "Uwe Boll is still making movies?" and "Was anyone clamoring for a third Bloodrayne movie?"
Bloodrayne: The Third Reich is Rated R for bloody violence, strong sexuality/nudity and language. According to IMDb, Bloodrayne 3 finds Rayne fighting against the Nazis in Europe during World War II, encountering Ekart Brand, a Nazi leader whose target is to inject Adolf Hitler with Rayne's blood in an attempt to transform him into a dhampir and attain immortality. Sounds like another masterpiece for this series!
Also, Monsterwolf comes back with an R Rating. It is Rated R for some bloody violence.

David E. Kelley's (Mystery Alaska, Boston Legal TV series) new pilot for a proposed Wonder Woman TV series adaptation went into production in L.A. yesterday and now we've got our first look at title actress Adrianne Palicki (Legion) in action as Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman.
Of the dozens of distant, fuzzy, or just plain poor quality images of Palicki that turned up online overnight, AceShowbiz managed to snag the best shots of not only Palicki sporting a more comic-accurate version of the Wonder Woman costume than the one seen in the released publicity shot (note the red boots and less "vinyl" look of the pants), but also shots of actor and stuntman Joseph Gatt (upcoming Thor) doing, well, stunts, and Willam Belli (Bloodrayne: The Third Reich) doing a scarily passable Marilyn Monroe impression. Best of the worst genre directors out there Uwe Boll, responsible for turning half-decent video games into walk-out cinema experiences, returns for a third time to his vampire game adaption that is 'BloodRayne'. 'Bloodrayne: The Third Reich', the third and hopefully the last installment in the series, does have one thing going for it though as seen (albeit briefly) in the new trailer for the upcoming sequel below. It's a potential naked lesbian sex scene that features the returning (and sexy) Natassia Malthe (below). The follow-up co-stars Clint Howard, Brendan Fletcher, Michael Pare, Willam Belli, Annett Culp, Vjekoslav Katusin, Steffen Mennekes and Natalia Guslistaya. Check out the new trailer below with pause at the ready!...
