Eurovision Song Contest Specials, Natural History Shows Set at BBC – Global Bulletin

The BBC Studios Natural History Unit has commissioned three series for BBC One, BBC Two and iPlayer. “Mammals” (6 x 60’), coproduced by France Televisions, Zdf and BBC America, offers insights into the most widespread animal group in the world.

“Big Little Journeys” (3 x 60’), coproduced by PBS, follows the real-life adventures of six tiny animals as they voyage into the unknown. “Wild Scandinavia” (3 x 60’), coproduced by PBS and Sveriges Television, and narrated by actor Rebecca Ferguson (“Dune”), celebrates the wildlife, landscapes and culture of the furthest northern reaches of Europe.

BBC Studios is handling international distribution and will present the series to international customers at BBC Studios Showcase taking place on Feb. 27 and 28.

Rosie Lourde set to cash in after ‘Romance on the Menu’

Multi-hyphenate talent Rosie Lourde’s career looks set to accelerate on the back of multiple deals for Romance on the Menu, her feature directing debut produced by the Steve Jaggi Company.

The romantic comedy starring Canadian Cindy Busby (Heartland) and Tim Ross was pre-sold to major European markets, premiered here as a Netflix Original film and has been acquired by an as yet-un-named streamer in the US.

The actor-turned writer, director and producer is currently in talks with production companies about several projects while developing a raft of her own projects, collaborating with the likes of Madeleine Dyer, Daniel Mulvihill, Kodie Bedford, Julie Kalceff, Mithila Gupta, Gretel Vella and the Afro Sistahs Collective.

Saskia Hampele and Liam McIntyre star in post Covid-19 romance

Saskia Hampele and Liam McIntyre (The Flash) are starring in the romantic comedy This Little Love of Mine, one of the first feature films to roll in the post Covid-19 era.

Now shooting in Cairns and produced by the Steve Jaggi Company, the film follows Hampele as Laura, a successful Australian-born lawyer in San Francisco who is on the cusp of promotion.

McIntyre and Lynn Gilmartin play Chip and Gem, her childhood friends. The firm’s biggest client, Chip’s grandfather (Martin Portus), asks Laura to travel to the Australian island where she grew up to deliver a contract to make Chip his heir.

The contract promises to make Chip a billionaire and Laura a partner in the firm. When she gets to the island there is immediate chemistry between Laura and Chip, making her question where it she truly belongs.
