Danish-American artist Emily Bowen is set to release her debut album “Hate Me for This” on January 3rd, alongside the lead single “Agnes”. The album showcases Bowen’s indie pop style, infused with organic elements and personal narratives.
Born to a Danish mother and American father, Bowen’s creative journey began early. She explored various art forms, eventually focusing on music. At 14, she took the initiative to approach Copenhagen’s renowned music studios, immersing herself in the creative world.
“My drive is enormous and, if I’m allowed, I can run like a machine. But I’ve also learned to take my time,” Bowen reflects on her journey. She signed her record deal at 18, after four years of honing her craft.
“Hate Me for This” serves as a musical diary, touching on themes of honesty, vulnerability, and first-time experiences. The album’s sound ranges from nostalgic folk-pop in “Better Days...

Like Mysterio secretly being a bad guy in Spider-Man: Far From Home and "Agnes" clearly meant as a cover for Agatha Harkness in WandaVision, every comic book fan out there knows Lewis Pullman's "Bob" in Thunderbolts* is really The Sentry.
Despite showing the character's logo in the movie's teaser trailer, Marvel Studios continues to identify Pullman's character only as Bob and the actor has flat-out refused to reveal whether he's playing The Sentry in interviews.
Now, the cat is officially out of the bad courtesy of Red Guardian actor David Harbour.
Talking at D23 Brazil last weekend, the Stranger Things star was asked about the super soldier's relationship with Bob and replied, "Yeah, I don't think he knows what to make of that. I mean, again, we'll have to see how it unfolds with all of that."
"I don't think you guys know much about Bob/Sentry yet, so...

Exclusive: Molly C. Quinn (Castle) and Cameron Cuffe (Krypton) have wrapped on The Weight, a psychological thriller marking the feature directorial debut of American Gods producer Sallyanne Massimini, who co-wrote the script with Thomas Care.
Shot in Ontario, Canada, with production led by Exit 44 Entertainment and Palo Pictures, the film centers on Mia (Quinn), who wakes up chained in a remote cabin, only to witness her captor, David (Cuffe), burying a body outside. Knowing she’ll be next, she breaks free and flees through treacherous cliffs and waterfalls while David, haunted by remorse and grief, pursues her relentlessly through the wilderness.
Ty Leisher (11th Hour Cleaning) and Eric Brodeur (The Haunting of the Mary Celeste) produced for Exit 44 Entertainment.
Stated Massimini, “Filming in freezing temperatures at a waterfall, the demanding physicality of Molly’s stunts and body burns, and the quick pivot to highly emotionally charged scenes with Cameron.

The great actress Isabella Rossellini was the face of Lancôme beauty for more than a decade beginning in the early 1980s, but strangely, if you look back, rarely is she the lead in any of her iconic films.
Sometimes a shadow, sometimes on the periphery, a Rossellini character is nonetheless always knowing, from tragic lounge singer Dorothy Vallens in her then-partner David Lynch’s “Blue Velvet” to ethereal beauty whisperer Lisle Von Rhuman in Robert Zemeckis’ “Death Becomes Her” and a wealthy Italian widow who dates below her station in David O. Russell’s “Joy.”
In Edward Berger’s papal potboiler “Conclave,” Rossellini has fewer lines than ever — and probably they could fit on one page — as Sister Agnes. Here is a glowering nun who has seen some shit. In the case of Berger’s English-language follow-up to Oscar-winning heavy-hitter “All Quiet on the Western Front,” Agnes is the eyes...

The following contains spoilers from Agatha All Along, Episode 7, "Death's Hand In Mine," now streaming on Disney+.
It could be argued that the big, mid-show revelation that the character initially known only as "Teen" was both William Kaplan and Billy Maximoff may have been Agatha All Along's weakest episode yet. It was more of an exposition dump and a twist than Teen's compelling origin story. In contrast, "Death's Hand In Mine" is Lilia Calderu's solo episode, also filled with flashbacks and could be the series' best single chapter yet. The clever, non-linear storytelling in the episode worked better because of its relationship to the character, not a Marvel Cinematic Universe Secret.
As per usual when it comes to MCU fans, many Teen identified as Billy Maximoff long before the series confirmed it. This was similar to how they figured out "Agnes" was Agatha Harkness months before WandaVision debuted. Because of this,...

Martin Scorsese was a fan of a director who contributed to the French New Wave films. If you are guessing François Truffaut or Jean-Luc Godard, you’re so wrong. Scorsese admired the films of female director Agnès Varda, who was known for her film Cléo from 5 to 7. The Departed director struck up a friendship with Varda in the ’70s and shared that he might have sought her approval for ideas.

Further praising the director, Scorsese shared that Varda broke all the rules of filmmaking and made films of varying shapes and sizes. Unlike Truffaut or Godard, Varda wasn’t a film critic, nor was she knowledgeable about films. She was a photographer who stumbled upon the art of filmmaking.

The following contains spoilers for "Seekest Thou the Road" and "Circle Sewn with Fate / Unlock Thy Hidden Gate" in Agatha All Along, now available on Disney+.
The first two episodes of Agatha All Along landed on Disney+ on September 18th, and fans are eager to see how this Marvel TV series will affect the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since Agatha debuted in WandaVision, fans knew these new series would be intimately related to the 2021 show -- and the first episode confirmed this as Agatha (as a police detective) finds herself researching the death of a woman who surely is Wanda Maximoff.
Of course, fans are sure that some of the WandaVision characters will appear in Agatha All Along, but the MCU has plenty of other characters who could fit right in in the series. Whether it is as a cameo, as secondary characters, or even as protagonists, these MCU characters belong in Agatha All Along.

“Agatha All Along” debuted just a few days ago to an enthusiastic response from fans. Set three years after “WandaVision,” the show follows Agatha Harkness as she returns to Westview after her imprisonment, now powerless.
In the first episode, Agatha remains trapped in her Agnes persona, navigating familiar true crime tropes. As the story unfolds, subtle hints tied to magic and Wanda begins to jog her memories.
After “Agnes” meets the Teen, she realizes that the dead body she was investigating was merely a figment of her imagination, leading her to break free from her confinement. Agatha steps outside completely naked and confronts her neighbor for playing along with her “fantasy.”
Both Kathryn Hahn and the showrunner later revealed that the decision for Hahn to appear in the scene naked was her idea, intended to illustrate Agatha’s vulnerability without her magic.
While the scene was both humorous and symbolic,...

The following contains spoilers for Agatha All Along Episodes 1 & 2, "Seekest Thou the Road" and "Circle Sown With Fate, Unlock Thy Hidden Gate," now streaming on Disney+.
After her scene-stealing turn in WandaVision, Kathryn Hahn's Agatha Harkness earned her own Disney+ TV series. Appropriately titled Agatha All Along, the show is not a sequel to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's profound study of grief. It's something different -- and what isn't entirely clear at first. But that winds up being the point.
Agatha is at the center of the story, but she is joined by some characters new to the MCU and others who will be familiar to fans of Marvel Comics. While Wanda Maximoff's fate remains a mystery, Agatha All Along shows that some vestiges of the spells she inadvertently cast in WandaVision still remain. The show -- much like the movie adventures of Stephen Strange -- centers on the...

In the final stretch of WandaVision, we finally found out who’d been messing up everything for Wanda Maximoff in the TV-glitching town of Westview – with Kathryn Hahn’s Agnes revealed to be… well, Agatha all along. Agatha Harkness, that is, the Marvel witch who’s long meddled in the comics realm, and kept a close eye on Wanda under the guise of a friendly neighbour. Come WandaVision’s end Harkness was overpowered by the Scarlet Witch, and found herself trapped in Westview. But she’s conjuring up some new tricks in her own series, Agatha All Along – a spooky, kooky spin-off from WandaVision creator Jac Schaeffer, with Hahn ready to cackle up a storm again in the MCU.
And she won’t be alone. As you’ll see above in our exclusive first-look image, Agatha All Along will see Harkness joined by “a disparate, mixed bag of witches” – including Patti LuPone’s Lilia,...

Whether it’s Midsommar and depression caused by loss, or heck even back to Jimmy Stewart in It’s A Wonderful Life, it can really shape a narrative. Given how much human history exists, there are countless real-life events that highlight just how primitive we as humans can be. The end of any given year is a strange liminal space outside of time where one begins to reflect upon the days that were and the uncertain days still to come. It’s weird. Some might even say it’s a zone … of twilight. Yes, the New Year represents the perfect occasion for a marathon of Rod Serling’s sci-fi/horror anthological masterpiece. And sure enough, Twilight Zone marathons on TV have been a mainstay of the season for quite some time.
The New Year’s Eve Twilight Zone marathon is one of TV’s most consistent and perhaps least understood traditions. The yearly marathon has been taking place since at least 1980 but no one is quite sure who started it (regional TV stations New York’s Wpix or Los Angeles’ Ktla are the two best candidates) or when it even made the jump from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Eve.

Prominent Egyptian director Marwan Hamed, whose epic “Kira and El Gen” about local resistance to British occupation recently scored at the local box office, is being feted with a career award by the El Gouna Film Festival.

A lot of fans have noticed that some Good Omens characters have Supernatural namesakes, and Neil Gaiman, the creator of the fantasy comedy series and the co-author of the original book, has addressed the similarities.
In Kripke's dark fantasy drama, which ran for 15 whole seasons, there was a demon by the name of Crowley, who was at one point the King of Hell, and there was also angel Metatron, the Scribe of God and the reason why Dean Winchester became a demon himself for a short while. One Good Omens fan wondered if Gaiman's own Crowley and Metatron were inspired by their Supernatural equivalents, and the acclaimed author happily responded from his Tumblr account.

Netflix made headlines at Cannes for buying Todd Haynes’ “May December” for $11 million, but it’s also spending money on film history. The streamer is one of several entities getting into the Agnes Varda business this year by investing in a new project to reignite interest in the late French New Wave filmmaker’s work.
Varda’s daughter, producer Rosalie Varda, announced at Cannes this week that she had secured financing for “Education in Images: ‘The Gleaners and I,'” an ambitious heritage project for film students built out of restored dailies from Varda’s seminal 1999 documentary. The digital platform will be made available to film schools around the world and cull from 60 hours of rushes from Varda’s poetic 2000 documentary “The Gleaners and I,” which explores the unique lives and challenges of gleaners throughout French society. Students will be able to use the platform to create their own versions...

Leading up to the production of Agatha: Coven of Chaos, the show has seen numerous changes surrounding its title, potentially creating a problem that has an easy fix. Not much is known about the Agatha Harkness-centered series, but the alterations indicate a shift in focus that could affect the overall reception of the McU's Phase 5 entry once it's released. As a Marvel project that isn't considered to be one of the most anticipated, the changes that have been made to Coven of Chaos don't leave much to be desired so far.
Coven of Chaos is beginning to feel like a second season of WandaVision due to many of the show's cast members returning for the Agatha spinoff. On top of this, there is very little known about the plot, and set photos can only confirm so much. Since its announcement in November 2021, Agatha: Coven of Chaos was previously known as...

Exclusive: Jennifer Holland (Peacemaker), Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy films), Molly C. Quinn (Castle), Jason George (Grey’s Anatomy) and Jackie Tohn (Glow) have been tapped for roles in Give Me An A, a feature-length anthology made by more than two dozen female filmmakers and producers that links together 15 short films, in response to the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade. The actors will appear in segments from different directors, in genres ranging from horror and sci-fi, to satire and dark comedy.
The film currently in post-production will have been completed in less than 10 weeks from the date of Roe’s overturning — which eliminated the longstanding constitutional right to abortion — in an effort to ensure this is a response and not a delayed reaction. For his latest project, indie wunderkind filmmaker Mickey Reece transports viewers back to the year 1994 as we follow Troyal Brux (played by Reece), a country music star whose popularity is quickly on the rise. One day, he gets invited to spend a day with the legendary George Jones out of the blue, and during their shenanigans, Troyal learns some hilarious truths about the price of fame and just how difficult life can be when you’re a superstar.
Country Gold recently celebrated its world premiere as part of the 2022 Fantasia Film Festival, and to mark the occasion, Daily Dead had the opportunity to speak with Reece about his newest cinematic endeavor and during our conversation, he chatted about bringing together the world of country music with ’70s-style storytelling, reteaming with Ben Hall once again for Country Gold, and more.

Film festival favorite Mickey Reece (“Agnes”) is back with another genre-bending character piece, “Country Gold,” and TheWrap has an exclusive look at the first trailer for the film.
Described as a “surrealist comedy by way of a music film,” “Country Gold” takes place in 1994, starring Reece as an up-and-coming country singer who is invited by country music legend George Jones (Ben Hall) for a night on the town in Nashville – the night before George is to be cryogenically frozen.
Of course, as with most of Reece’s films — “Country Gold” is his 29th feature — he doesn’t come at the genre angle straight on, and the teaser promises something a bit more unexpected, quiet and character-focused than the sci-fi shenanigans that the synopsis might spring to mind. Watch the teaser trailer above and soak up the strange vibes.

The following contains Star Trek: Picard spoilers
Star Trek: Picard Season 2 Episode 9
Well, the penultimate episode of Star Trek: Picard Season 2 is a thing that we have all now watched. Plagued by many of the same problems that have repeatedly cropped up throughout the rest of the season—poor pacing, ill-timed flashbacks, and a bizarre disregard for the basic rules of time travel—”Hide and Seek” is an hour that has plenty of action, but a deeply messy and often pointless plot, as Picard and friends face off against the Borg Queen, a bunch of random paramilitary types she’s assimilated, and Adam Soong, who is also there for some reason.
If you were hoping this episode had any more answers about Q, his apparent impending death, or why he chose to set Picard the test that has ultimately led to this mess of a story we are all watching,...

And while I knew this wasn’t going to be another nunsploitation film, I wasn’t expecting just what it delivers.

When Mother Superior (Mary Buss; Camp Cold Brook) asks for help she’s sent Father Donaghue an exorcist whom the diocese is looking for an excuse to excommunicate and his protege Ben.

Though the confusingly named initiative “FX on Hulu” is on its way out, FX is still bringing premium television to Hulu in the meantime.

There isn’t much to report from Hulu’s original movies arm aside from true crime documentary Captive Audience on April 21. But that doc about one family’s 50-year journey for justice sounds like a must-watch.

Chris Sullivan is set to star in the ABC comedy pilot “The Son in Law,” Variety has confirmed.
Sullivan will star in the single-cam comedy as Jake, a divorced dad with a 21 year old daughter. Jake never thought he would love again, until Asha came along. The problem is that Jake, a hard-working plumbing contractor, is solidly middle class, while Asha hails from the equivalent of uber-wealthy South Asian royalty. Jake wants to marry Asha, and while he still needs to ask Asha’s father for his blessing, the real stumbling block is Asha’s loving but controlling mother, who doesn’t hide her feelings about Jake being all wrong for her daughter.
Sullivan currently stars on the hit NBC drama “This Is Us,” which is airing its sixth and final season. His work on the show has netted him two Emmy nominations for best supporting actor in a drama series.

Consumers demand choice, and industry obliges. Creamy or crunchy peanut butter; diet or regular soda; dark or milk chocolate; Budweiser or cocktails wrung out of stale urinal cakes. In 2021, choice means enjoying your pick of nunsploitation movies: Rose Glass’ “Saint Maud,” Paul Verhoeven’s “Benedetta,” and now, last but not least, Mickey Reece’s “Agnes.” “Agnes” occupies a somewhat unflattering spot on the December release slate, premiering on the heels of “Benedetta,” one of 2021’s best films and one of the most noteworthy pervy nun productions to come out in this century.

Molly C. Quinn stars in the new indie horror film Agnes, which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year. Quinn signed on as executive producer for Agnes with her production company QWGmire. Quinn has previously starred in the series Castle, as well as the film Doctor Sleep.
Agnes tells the horrific story of a nun who becomes possessed (Hayley McFarland) and is then subjected to an exorcism by a priest, played by Ben Hall (Climate of the Hunter), who was given the task as a form of punishment for his questionable past. A24 presents Red Rocket in six theaters this weekend ahead of a limited expansion in New York and LA, adding Chicago, Austin and San Francisco next weekend with a wider rollout over the holidays to several hundred screens.
The dark comedy by Sean Baker premiered at Cannes to a five-minute standing ovation and garnered a trio of Gotham Award nods including Best Screenplay for Baker and co-writer Chris Bergoch, Outstanding Lead Performance for Simon Rex, who plays washed up porn star Mikey Saber with magnetic high-octane glee, and Breakthrough Performer for Suzanna Son as Strawberry, a sultry teenage doughnut shop employee Mikey sees as his ticket home. Saber had returned from LA to his small Texas City, Texas hometown, which does not want him, to regroup amid the oil refineries he pedals by on his bike over and over looking for work, love or mischief. From Oklahoma City, indie filmmaker Mickey Reece has astoundingly made over twenty-five movies in a decade, often working on a very small budget. His new film Agnes premiered at Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year and is now being released by Magnet Releasing. Star Molly C. Quinn even served as an executive producer through her production company QWGmire.
Agnes tells the story of a nun named Agnes (Hayley McFarland) who begins to show signs of possession, much to the dismay of her convent’s Mother Superior. Molly C. Ben Hall (Climate of the Hunter) plays Father Donaghue, a priest with a shady background who is called in to perform an exorcism on Agnes, along with a priest in training, Benjamin, played by Jake Horowitz. From there, the situation...
