Their father was never happy with them and thinks they’re a disgrace, no matter what they did. Maybe that’s why he got killed, as an outburst of their pent-up anger? Or maybe it was the servants in their house who might have had enough of all the torture. They are forced to do so many things and treated cruelly just because they are poor and helpless.

Vernestra Rwoh in The Acolyte looks to be a key predecessor to Mace Windu, during the High Republic with the implication in The Acolyte that she holds the revered title of "Master of the Order." Master of the Order holds high authority among the Jedi Council, making decisions and guiding the Jedi Order as a whole. Vernestra Rwoh and Mace Windu share similarities beyond their roles, including unique lightsabers and fighting styles.

The Acolyte's Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh may be one of the coolest Jedi I've seen in years, especially with the reveal that she exists as a key predecessor to Mace Windu from the prequel films. Played by Rebecca Henderson, Vernestra Rwoh was a Mirialan Jedi Master during the High Republic Era, an age of peace and prosperity set hundreds of years before the events of The Phantom Menace.

Created by Leslye Headland (the TV talent behind Russian Doll), The Acolyte is an eight part Star Wars TV series that marks a significant break from the spin-off material we’ve seen so far. For one thing, it’s set 100 years before the events of The Phantom Menace, meaning that slavish fan service can (hopefully) be kept to a minimum. And for another, the fact that the series is essentially positioned as a murder mystery shows a welcome attempt to play around with genre in the Star Wars universe, something that has arguably been a long time coming.

The show opens in style, with Carrie-Anne Moss’ Jedi Master Indara facing off against a would-be assassin who turns out to be equally proficient in the ways of the Force.

Unlike The Matrix, Carrie-Anne Moss prepared alone for the new Star Wars show, finding a new level of strength and containment. Moss's character, Jedi Master Indara, engages in an exciting lightsaber duel with a striking control of emotions and the Force. The trailers so far have shown Indara to be one of the most intriguing new Jedi characters.

The Acolyte star Carrie-Anne Moss discusses the differences in training for her new show compared to The Matrix. Moss first starred in the sci-fi favorite movie in 1999 and appeared in the sequels, including 2021s The Matrix Resurrections. Shell be appearing in Star Wars new show The Acolyte, which visits the Star Wars universe in an era and story never seen before in the movies or TV shows with the High Republic. Set 500 to 100 years before the Skywalker saga, the Disney+ show will chronicle the creeping rise of the Sith during the Jedis prime.

Toy manufacturer Mattel continues to develop Mattel Films projects including a co-production deal with MGM, greenlighting a live-action feature based on the 'View-Master' 3D slide viewer:

Introduced in 1939, 'View-Master' special-format stereoscopes use View-Master 'reel' cardboard disks containing seven stereoscopic 3-D pairs of small transparent color photos on film.

In 2015, Mattel announced a collaboration with Google to produce the 'View-Master Virtual Reality Viewer' using smartphones. In 2016, an updated iteration known as the 'Dlx' was released.

‘The Acolyte’ is the first live-action series set in the High Republic era and the second overall (after ‘Young Jedi Adventures’). Headland, a longtime Star Wars fan since her teens, eagerly seized the opportunity to contribute something fresh and distinct to the franchise. She described ‘Acolyte’ as a blend of ‘Frozen’ and ‘Kill Bill’, drawing inspiration from Wuxia films and Samurai action.

The trailer hinted at these influences, with Headland emphasizing that ‘Acolyte’ will showcase Jedi outnumbering Sith for the first time in Star Wars history.
