When this show was aired, watched the show primarily because of ML/Xiao Zhan, there are a few good ones with him.

The FL/Yang Zi, she was OK to watch, not a fan of her show.

As said each week waited for episodes after episodes, it was cute, sweet & watchable. Then after he confessed his love by the 18th episodes, it got a little tiring due to the FL character, she was immature, pouty & ridiculous at times. By the 20th episode, I stopped! Her immaturity was just too much to bear. She got her man, but it seems like she doesn't want to appreciate him, he is constantly chasing, soothing & comforting her. In some scene, it felt like she bullied him!

Thought of deleting the show from my list but because of ML character I continued watching.

Totally get the temporary break-up, she is being ignored & he is in denial & seclusion. Communication break down.

The best part is the scenario of the FL with her parents. Such a wonderful relationship! Making the last days of her father life as happy & memorable as can be.

Don't care much about the 2nd couple or even the 3rd. Uninteresting.

This series is excellent. It engaged me emotionally and had me rooting for the main couple throughout the whole show. If you want to watch something positive, where the leads respect each other and treat each other well, this is for you.

The Good Stuff

The production was excellent. Nice visuals, well done sound.

The story line was, relatively, believable. The trauma was there, but not so bad that you had the feeling this would never happen to anyone IRL.

The acting was good all around. The FL was incredibly good! She is a very talented and natural actor. Watching her you never get the feeling you are watching a TV series - rather you are just observing a slice of someone's life. I think Zi Yan brings us one of the top performance by an Asian drama FL that I have seen. I think the ML and the FL's father were also great.

The lead couple's chemistry was off the charts. It might not have been the intense, sexual chemistry you see in American dramas, but they (in the good times) were so sweet together and so relaxed and comfortable with each other, that you will root for them all the way. And you'll also wish you could be in such a relationship.

The writing was very good. There was some great, witty dialog. There was some heartfelt compassionate dialog.

They gave us a wedding! In so many shows the story stops before the wedding or they skip ahead to the future and never show the wedding. So kudos to the writers for a wedding!

The Sub-Optimal

I hate love triangles, and this show had two. But compared to many other Asian dramas, these love triangle were not too bad. They didn't add a ton of tension for too long a time. But as if often the case, the second male lead was a selfish jerk given he knew the main couple's feelings for each other.

The story might be a it slow for some folks, although the pacing worked very well for me.

Mild Spoilers Not all the story lines were wrapped up nicely. I'd like to have seen one of the second couple's get back together. (But not the other second couple - they guy was a jerk.) I would like to have seen another character find someone to love.

Overall a great show. I give it a 9/10 since it is really good, if not perfect.

It is a romance comedy between Dr and musician. The lines, plot, actor(ress), production are all on point. The best thing is the love story is about warm, family and healing.

It is not the usual (foolish)/poor girl cinderella and rich/stylish/cool/strong boyfriend. It is a very relaxed, sweet and interesting. It made me grin most of the time, can't stop to see what happen next.

This drama is sweet, fun, smooth and romantic. If you joy love stories you'll like it! If you need relax, you will. The main leader played for Xiao Zhan know how show the personality from Dr. Gu. Know how makes we laugh and fall in love in each single detail of the character. The femal leader played by Yang Zi is amazing! She is a master of comedy and the way of Lin Zinxiao is so simple and sincere, makes you love and laugh her character. The chemistry between the two actors, Xiao Zhan and Yang Zi is incredible! Them improvisations on the scenes makes you feel so confortable with the couple. I love so much this drama!

So far the storyline seems interesting. Loved the chemistry between the leads . XiaoZhan specially as a new actor( 2019) performed his part the best. Been XiaoZhan fan from The untamed . As for Yang zi she is a fabulous actress . Watched her other dramas too .

From the very 1st episode until the end, it's so beautiful that I binged to watch it. My poor eyes.. I'm not into detail when making a review .. and it's rare. But this one, it has that magical background music that gives you hope. I love how the love and life story evolves around Gu Wei and Zhixiao. Yang Zi said its a modern realistic drama

This drama is really beautiful, just watched for few episodes, and I already love it. Zhi Xiao's family story is very touching. And I love the cold Dr. Gu! He is very understanding, aaaaaaaaa.

Overall, all the actors/actress potrayed the character so well.

The dialogue felt at times unnatural and other times cliche. The acting felt amateurish. The female lead lying about being sick made me wonder whether lying is an accepted behavior in China as many supposedly good characters in cdramas lie without batting an eyelash. The FL pretending to play the cello onstage while the male lead watches is one of the most inane scenes I've ever seen onscreen. It would have made sense if she hummed at least, but no, she was just standing there moving her arms. The FL yelling at her sick dad in public was the last straw for me. I doubted I would ever like this character enough to want to watch her for 26 more episodes. I decided to call it quits in Ep 6 and find better use of my time.

This is a really well crafted, slow burn, very realistic story of how two adults become friends then slowly get to know each others before becoming lovers.

It treats the audience rationally and respectfully.

No melodramas, makjang, or dramatic plots.

It feels very down to earth and realistic.

Makes me feel that it could happen to me too.

The only unrealistic thing about this drama is that gu wei is too good looking.

No doctor is that handsome in real life.

Recommended for those intelligent viewers.

Those who loves dramatic, makjang syoryline wont like this.

I have watched upto episode 3 on wetv app its a drama full of warm one moment I was laughing ,next moment I was crying it's a full pack of emotional ride it feels realistic too the way they progress the bonding between guwei and linzhixiao.

I'm loving this drama.storyline seems interesting and my bebe xiao zhan omg I can't even describe how beautiful and natural his acting skills is im in love with Dr Gu #xiaozhan.

In fact, I personally don't like to watch dramas that completely tell love stories. I always feel that everyone has their own career to complete, and it is better to spend time on career than on love.

But after seeing the oath of love, I suddenly felt that if I met a very good partner, it would be a wonderful thing to spend time on love!

This story feels quite true. The doctor's busyness is very realistic, and the ptsd after the failed operation is also very realistic. And the oriental concept that marriage is a matter of two families is also well conveyed.

I feel that love is impulsively making a vow and fulfilling the vow with a lifetime. All in all, when you meet the right person, love will be beautiful.

I feel that Xiao Zhan's acting skills have improved again! When he plays an emotional scene, it makes people feel very substituting!

I will never forget this drama. It's such a nice drama. Everyone play their character very well. Specially I want to mention the lead role YANG ZI and XIAO ZHAN. Both of them acted very well. The way they show their love for each other 😍😍 . I am always a fan of those dramas where the leading characters acting are good.if they can act well it always looks beautiful. And when it comes to acting yangzi and XIAO ZHAN acted outstandingly. The drama also portray the family love very well.it also portray friendship spectacularly. I really like the love between the female lead parents and the her mother always understand her husband. This drama was worth of watching. I know l will repeat it infinity time.

In this review i'd like to express how happy i am to finaly meet Dr. Gu wei after i had met Gu Yiye 3 months ago.

This drama has finally seen the light after 2 years and 290 days and it's been really worth the wait for , the story so far is great and the acting is very professional as every single actor is portraying their character as it should be.

Despite being a C-drama, this drama has a creative new plot and is on a total different level from all the other slow dragging modern C-dramas we already know ( CEO, ugly turns into beauty , rich boy-poor girl etc...)

Also, i won't forget to mention how very proud i am of Xiao zhan and so happy that his "first" modern drama to be this great, he totally nailed his role as always and had a very beautiful chemistry with yang zi. He is a hard-working young actor,so handsome and very professional as he is always striving for good scripts and roles that would attract his audience and fans and break records.

After an immense happiness that it's finally out and as the episodes go by, i feel a bit sad that it has only 29 episodes (which is a short tbh) I am very pleased to share my review with everybody, and hope everyone else watches it and likes it and i will be looking forward to other great dramas/movies.

Its the story of a bubble girl who ahs a dream to be a cello artost but his father dont approve and want her to get a teaching degree and become a teacher A doctor who had one bad experience with surgery they meet each other and the story is about their journey to fall in love and how they help each other over come their fear and complexes.

Was not expecting much as I am not a fan of modern romance dramas I have tried few before but gave up after few days BUt heard so much hype about this one so thought why not I like bothe main leads two good looking and good actors and believe me I was hook with the first episodes Acting and their chemistry onscreen is just awesome they lit fire whenever they are on screen Complexes of Dr Gu wi is v well portrayed his happiness his guilt his fear all are v relatable I have seen a close person a doctor struggling when his one case failed and t hat family b;lamed him so i have seen it close quarters and good this light drama tried to talk about that still didnt take ny dark path Xiao zhan has portrayed hsi role well he has proven in Untamed that he is a good actor now he has proven that he i snot a one drama wonder he is good looking good actor and he is going to stay here Ms Gu lin is bubbly girl who has dream to do something in life her relation with her parents have been portrayed well her both parents acted v well they really look like a family Like the actor who played Dr Gu wei's Cousin after this he will get more offer I can see it Story is light and played well didnt see ny filling water scenes thats why I enjoyed it more there were no scenes I wanted to skip re watch value is ten cause I already started re watching it now Ost are awesome three main songs are now in my playlist So just go and watch it You will definitely enjoy it.

Its kind of interesting so far, its just 4 episodes in china and wetv international only has a 3 episodes with subs, so there is more to be looking forward, story going fast its quit good, not much unnecessary drama, character development is going good, fl and ml doing there best and xiao zhan and yang zi acting look natural, to talk about story it's quite different from novel but interesting, novel has a smooth plot not much set backs but if u can see drama need some set backs and they added well, and more to looking forward there fall in love process... its only ep 3 hope this drama going well like this 3 ep and keep audiences...

I literally waited for this drama for like 2 years... Yang zi and xiao zhan.. both are great actors.. I liked yang zi from go go squids and the psychologist..her acting is so good also her face is very different..she is beautiful and talented woman.. And our mr. Handsome xiao zhan.. I fell in love with him when I watched him in The UNTAMED!!! What an actor.. I just finished watching this drama "the oath of lovee".. I'll give it 10 stars..bcoz their chemistry is no joke.. they look lovely together. Story line us just amazing... I thought it's going to be cliche drama...but trust me.. you'll get a roller coaster ride of emotions while watching it.. Second couple were cute too.. So if u want to watch a Chinese drama drama with cuteness, over loaded romance...no weirdness..and great storyline..go ahead..this is for you :)

I have alway been a fan of Yangzi. I had really low expectations for this drama before I started to watch it on TV. I thought would be another Cinderella tale after watching the trailer. But actually it's nothing like that ,not even close. It's really a touching ,romantic ,relaxing love story .I cry and laugh with all these characters. I am looking forward to Yangzi's next Character.

The plot is pretty straighforward, very easy to watch and the chemistry between the main leads are sizzling. Xiao Zhan and Yang Zi's acting are very natural, lovey dovey and very sweet; reminded me of the sweet feeling of falling in love.... ...good old time...

This show introduces us to the two person which are very normal and ended up being couple.

Their chemistry is so smooth and subtle that we can relate to it explicitly.

Indeed it is one of the best modern Chinese show not only because of the Big Star Xiao Zhan & Yang Zhi but really storyline is so soothing.

I love it.

And yes when both of them come together, Sparkssss OBVIOUSLY.

MUST WATCH !

A heartwarming movie about love, family and life. Through the character of Doctor Gu Wei, I understand more about the hidden corners and thoughts of a doctor. I am very impressed with Xiao Zhan's acting. A doctor who is naive in love but extremely warm. A person who is rich in family affection but always holds his opinion. And most of all, he knows what he's doing, what he's done, and what he's going to do. He always finds a way to overcome his fear and helplessness. People live in anyone's life without any regrets. But he overcame it all and got happy. Happiness comes to those who work hard. The movie gave me a lot of inspiration.

After waiting for almost 3 years, the drama finally aired & totally worth it! I watched it for Yang Zi (as i love her after watching her in Ashes of Love & Go Go Squid) and this is my 1st Xiao Zhan's drama, both leads are superb with their acting, chemistry 100% on point, it showed the love between family & lover, with the spice of life & romance genre. I thought it was a rom-com drama at first but it's more than that and i really loved this drama. The Director told that most of Gu Wei-Lin Zhi Xiao scenes are improvised by the leads themselves and you can see that their scenes come out more natural & more romantic, give you a heart flutter feelings. The Oath of Love is currently became my Top 1 modern C-drama and now i wish that Yang Zi & Xiao Zhan can collaborate again in a costume/historical/xianxia drama🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
