This article contains spoilers for Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2, now available to stream on Netflix.
Netflix’s Castlevania series is one of the most successful animated adaptations of a game to date, with 4 gorgeous seasons under its belt as well as an equally popular spin-off, Castlevania: Nocturne, whose second season was released on January 16. And with the new episodes comes the return of the beautifully designed characters developed by character design supervisor Katie Silva and her team.
Konami’s long-lived game franchise gave Silva and her crew quite a bit of a cast to work into Netflix’s hit series. Some figures stayed more loyal to their original designs in the games, while others were rendered with far more creative liberty. Whichever direction they fell, every character was a captivating sight to behold—a few with epic transformations that will forever be seared into the memories of Castlevania fans.

Warning: Contains Spoilers for The Incredible Hulk Annual 2024 #1! There have been many Marvel Comics characters who have started their careers as mere mortals and have been elevated to godhood, including ones that have been featured in movies and on TV. From Daredevil to the Punisher, many heroes have known what it was to be a god, even if just for a short time. And now, one more can be added to that list, as Marvel permanently upgrades a TV hero to godhood after they become the host of the last Infinity Stone that needed to be claimed.
In The Incredible Hulk Annual 2024 #1 by Derek Landy and Geoff Shaw, Thanos seeks the Mind Stone, as he is once again on a quest to obtain all the Infinity Stones. This time, however, the Stones arent just Stones, but mortals who have been chosen to act as hosts for the Stones, and in return,...

Close to five years since the final date of Slayer’s “Final Campaign” farewell tour, the band reunited for an appearance at Chicago’s Riot Fest on Sunday. As any headbanger would expect, they stacked the set list with fan favorites — “South of Heaven,” “War Ensemble,” “Angel of Death” — but they also resuscitated a few surprising songs.
The concert marked the first time since 1998 that the band performed “213,” an eerie deep cut off their 1994 album, Divine Intervention. Frontman Tom Araya wrote the song with guitarist Jeff Hanneman, who died in...

Slayer are reigning once again, as the thrash legends played their first concert in five years on Sunday night (September 22nd) at Riot Fest in Chicago.
The headlining performance at Douglass Park featured a career-spanning, 20-song set that didn’t stray too far from Slayer’s setlists on their farewell tour in 2019.

After kicking off with the ominous “South of Heaven,” the band immediately delved into Reign in Blood with a rendition of deep cut “Reborn” — the first performance of the song since 2014. From there, each era of Slayer was represented, highlighted by staples such as “Repentless,” “Seasons in the Abyss,” “Hell Awaits,” and “213” (for the first time since 1998).
A final four-song volley ended the set climatically: “Mandatory Suicide” into “Raining Blood,” “Black Magic,” and a finale of “Angel of Death.”

To get higher and further in Stellar Blade, Eve will need to unlock the ability to double jump. Throughout the beginning of EVEs journey, you will find that there are multiple locations and places unable to be accessed that seem just out of reach. This is because you will only be able to return to them when Eve can double jump.
Fortunately, the fast travel system in Stellar Blade will make it easy for Eve to return to previous areas once she has acquired the double jump. Eve will continue to evolve throughout the game, and there are more reasons beyond this one to return to previous areas. Luckily, there are lots of rewards for doing so, and players will enjoy being able to use the new skill once they have unlocked it.

A stuntwoman, stunt coordinator and actor, Zoë Bell (Kill Bill, Death Proof) is on board to direct the upcoming action-survival thriller Free Fall, Variety has reported this morning.
Zachary Levi (Shazam) will star in the upcoming film. From XYZ Films, Free Fall “tells the story of a father’s attempt to reconcile with his estranged daughter on a rock-climbing trip that turns deadly as an accident leaves them stranded hundreds of feet in the air.”
Sean Finegan and Gregg Maxwell Parker wrote the screenplay.
“This script is the perfect combo of heartfelt and heart-stopping,” Zoë Bell said in a statement shared by Variety. “Between the producing team, the cast and the New Zealand crews, words don’t do justice to how thrilled I am to be bringing this film home.”
Producers Tom Hern and Nua Finau said, “We are stoked to be teaming up with the guys at XYZ again...

Christopher Walken's portrayal of Emperor Shaddam in Dune: Part Two intentionally subverts expectations of a powerful villain. The subdued performance of the Emperor highlights the themes of leadership and the corruptibility of power in the film. Despite criticism, Walken's unspectacular portrayal is actually in line with Denis Villeneuve's vision for a more realistic sci-fi narrative.
Christopher Walken’s performance as Emperor Shaddam IV is one of the only aspects of Dune: Part Two that’s been widely criticized, but those complaints have completely missed the point of the character. After being built up as the all-powerful ruler of the Known Universe in Dune: Part One, the Emperor was finally revealed in Dune: Part Two, with Oscar-winning screen legend Walken taking on the role. After all the build-up, the Emperor was considered to be a let-down, with Walken doing little to shake up his usual acting style or make the character stand out.

Samara Weaving is buckling up for 20th Century Studios forthcoming heist thriller Eenie Meanie. Sitting shotgun for the project is Karl Glusman, with writer-director Shawn Simmons at the helm. Producing the fast-paced thriller is Deadpool franchise alums Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
In Eenie Meanie, Samara Weaving plays Edie, “a former teenage getaway driver who is dragged back into her unsavory past when a former employer offers her a chance to save the life of her chronically unreliable ex-boyfriend.” (via Deadline)
Glusman hits the pavement as John, Edie’s recurrent boyfriend. Despite their differences, Edie feels compelled to pull John out of the flames of a terrible situation.
As one of my favorite actors in the business today, Samara Weaving is a force of nature. For some of her best performances, check out Joe Lynch’s Mayhem. The 2017 action-comedy is like Office Space meets The Raid and is a must-watch.

Olivia Macklin and Dylan McTee are set to lead Paul Etheredge’s paranormal parenting thriller “Psychopomp” alongside Shawnee Smith, Avangeline Friedlander and Lily D. Moore.
The horror will spotlight Macklin and McTee as a couple who foster a “mute orphan” (portrayed by Friedlander). The child, however, has endured a calamitous past that will haunt the family.

Jessica Lange came by her restlessness naturally. Born on April 20, 1949, to a stay-at-home mom and a traveling salesman father who moved the family all over the state of Minnesota, she quickly became acclimated to the process of re-acclimating. Eventually, the need for stabilization lost its appeal. Three years into studying art and photography at the University of Minnesota, she married Spanish photographer Paco Grande, at which point their shared wanderlust took them all over the United States and Mexico. The pair split upon moving to Paris, where Lange discovered Étienne Decroux and corporeal mime -- which departs from the conventional white-faced japery you're familiar with, and seeks to find abstract poetry in the movement of people and things.
Lange possessed the soul of a poet, but found this form of performance emotionally unrewarding, so she decamped for New York City to study acting with Mira Rostova at Hb Studio. She...

Reminiscent of the Taken trilogy and the Extraction franchise, Dzien Matki, a.k.a. Mother’s Day, is a Polish action drama released on Netflix that boasts a stellar cast. The movie's adrenaline-fueled premise finds an ex-special agent who must come out of retirement to protect her estranged son from a crime nexus. The high-octane hand-to-hand combat that follows finds the protagonist smashing heads with a hammer and even kicking packets of drugs in her enemy’s faces. Mother’s Day marks another action venture for director Mateusz Rakowicz, who had previously helmed the 2021 crime comedy The Getaway King and contributed to the drama anthology Stacja Warszawa.

M Night Shyamalan has always been at odds with his own legend. His 1999 breakout film, The Sixth Sense, revolved around a twist so sensational that it came to define him. Shyamalan is thought of now less as a director than a trickster; all that really matters to his audiences is how smoothly the rug is pulled out from under them. A relentless cycle of unmatchable hype builds and inevitable disappointment ensues.
With barely a twist to speak of (at least in the traditional sense), his latest film Knock at the Cabin feels like a repudiation of the past. It’s a (largely) single-location, narratively straightforward horror that unspools the tricky moral conundrum at its centre with inventive, Hitchcockian flair. Hopefully, Knock at the Cabin will serve as a reminder that Shyamalan should be celebrated as much for his craftsmanship as he is for his shock tactics.
