Movie being marketed as a mass comercial movie ,I just couldn't grasp the feeling of no punch in the movie. What I'm trying to say is that the feel a mass movie gives is missing here. Director is a well known movie creator who have given so many good movies which are some of my all time favourite, he have evolved really good with his direction to match the new era of movies. The script is so lackluster and the end just feels like rushed and not worked for. At the end the movie fails to be what it's marketed as but giving 5 stars for the director and the action scenes which are over the top but we'll executed. One time watch with plenty of snooze time .

It's only Prithviraj and Prithviraj in the movie, all other actors are just dummy in the movie. No proper story line, unnecessary fights. Just because of hype, movie is running. Should have waited for OTT release.

To be frank, first half was engaging and second half is ok. But in totality, the movie fell flat short and couldn't give the satisfaction we expect from mass action movie like it. 'Kaduva' lacks the much needed depth in its script. The BGM was below average and songs were very ordinary making it another mediocre movie with nothing great to watch. The action is a big let down, and after some point, it gets pretty repetitive with no freshness.

Its easy to criticize but after having good expectation listing to kuruvacham and officer george sir prior on television, it should be concluded that the script is below par. The script lacks depth, dissapointed as i went with high expectation.

WORST Malayalam movie I watched in recent time. PERIOD.

• Prithviraj career graph going deep in the negative range. He is going out of business in Malayalam movie like Nivin Poly.

• Shaji Kailas don't dream about another movie direction. You are retired.

Kaduva (2022) : Brief Review -

An out-and-out Prithviraj Sukumaran mass in a traditional hero vs villain revenge drama. After a massy cameo in "Lucifer" (2019) and a full-fledged massy role in "Ayyappanum Koshiyum" (2020), Prithviraj is back in a heroic mass-action film, and it's a pleasure to see him as a true film-hero type protagonist who doesn't care about anything. Kaduva is a no-stress film and it doesn't have any B-grade or crap theories like most of the typical masala films from the South have. I liked that thing because after the first 15 minutes I was expecting it to be a complete mass-action entertainer, but I was hoping that it wouldn't follow those senseless narrative styles. I knew the limits, so I wasn't even expecting it to be intellectual like Ayyappanum Koshiyum. That mix bag was something I was looking for, and Kaduva has managed to go close to that level, if not surpassed. The film is set in the late 90s, revolving around the life of a young high-range rubber planter, Kuriyachan, from Mundakayam, and his rivalry with a high-ranking officer, Joseph Chandy, in the Kerala Police. There are two side villains too, but I won't reveal anything more here. The screenplay is a bit longer than necessary, and the songs make it lengthy. Thankfully, you have a fast forward button while watching the film on TV/Laptop/Mobile so those dragged moments can be skipped, which was not possible in theatre viewing. Prithviraj Sukumaran allows himself to be as rowdy as he could go with a perfect swag level. Vivek Oberoi makes a good villain, but it could have been better. The action is entertaining but a little old-fashioned. Shaji Kailas uses the supporting characters very well, with the proper humanly massy elements to keep you hooked on the story. Kaduva could've been a classy film, but it never wanted to do so. Hence, it makes a nice one-time-watch action flick.

I am telugu guy but a big fan of prithivraj , this seems to be cheaper version of ayyappannum koshiyam ...story not convincing for the clash.

Also Malayalee cinema stay away from bollywood , vivek oberioi is out of cast - compare it with Bijoy Menon of AK .. Any other Malayalee actor would have added more intense to this dram rather that Vivek Oberoi.

Please use local state talent and actors who are much smarter and natural actors and suit the cinema , bollywood actors look out of place when casted in south movies , i know the commercial element in having them dubbed so that north audience can relate few actors but i guess its better to stick with the local cinema talent , we have better actors than them.

The film starts and ends in the middle of nowhere, extracting a slice of Kuriachan's life. You do get to taste a bit of nostalgia in seeing land phones, Doordarshan's intro theme and a single television reporter in front of the CM. But the rest of the film is just a nicely edited long and unexciting script.

The film has no great plot, twists, or logic, then why are we even watching this?

Well, this is an out-and-out commercial mass a film that stood completely true to its genre with barely any dull moments. Those who love watching popcorn flicks like this are gonna have a lot of fun because this film is filled with kickass moments which will take you back to the 90s. Personally I felt it was bang for the buck. Only drawbacks I found were some songs and a few underutilized characters, especially the protagonist but apart from that this is a kind of film that you wanna go with family or friends and enjoy at the cinema.

I felt whatever was promised by the makers was fulfilled.

The movie is a mass entertainer. The fight scenes are ok for this type of movie. The story is average. The climax was not fulfilling at all. Prithvi's acting was average. Overall an average commercial masala movie.

Shaji Kailas, why ??

I have to storm out of movie theatre half way.. wasted time and money. I wish there could be negative reviews.. so horrible !!

I don't understand why would A listers produce and spend big money take the audience on an ego trip about themselves on big screen, godamn it.. let them spend it, they have some to waste.. but not me can't stand such cheap narcissism ! Although they say it's the movie character.. c'mon, you know how it works here in India !!

The Missing element in Malayalam cinema , Taste of pure action entertainer Prithviraj DELIVERS WITH SWAG ! Excellently choreographed actions with goose bumping Background score by jakes story.

Guys please... don't go to this cinema to meet your realistic and logical satisfaction ,you wont find it ! Enough story is there, character development is nice; especially the ego clash between the lead actors and cinematography by is impressive .

This one is to enjoy the mass stylish action entertainer in big screen .the spark of ShajiKalias is still there and will be there !!!!!

Despite the tried and tested template for umpteen times, the story here never bores you. The plot and the stunt scenes keep you glued to the screen through the entire length of the movie.

Obviously, you wont be disappointed if you are watching it on a big screen.

They shouldn't have done this movie. The story is weak, the plot is not at all convincing. I'm in for a mass movie with my buddies, but this ain't it.

The movie is well directed but follows a similar plot of iyappanum koshiyum with changes here and there. The movie is just one time watchable. All the actors have done a good job.

The movie is meant for the gallery, with stylised action and fiery dialogues.

The story does not keep you engaged and you loose your patience by the end of it.

Prithviraj is the only reason that you will watch it till the end. However its no where near some of the amazing movies that he has done offlate.

None of the other cast have anything to do though.

I liked this one quite well as mass entertainer. The first half of movie was quite fun and has lot of mass moments to enjoy. The second half is bit serious and completed with satisfied ending.

The movie start as simple feud, when it was simple the movie pace was quite good. When it becomes state level affair the pace starts to loose. But still this once managed to deliver what it was promised.

Tune your expectations for Shaji Kailas's mass and you will like this one. Good comeback movie for him. Forget the flaws, this one will be enjoyable light watch for the weekend.

Entertainment from beginning till the end,No boring period.

Song's & Theme song's were good...

Kaduva is yet another generic mass movie from mollywood that relies heavily on Prithviraj's mass character. The whole movie experience depends upon how the viewer percieves his performance. It was an okayish watch for me due to the good opening fight sequence and the other fight sequences here and there. Prithviraj 's performance felt ok for me while Vivek Oberoe's class style villain performance impresses much more. The film was ok due to factors such as an ensemble cast, rich frames and neat execution of sequences. The surprise asylum sequence was infact better than the whole flick. Plot twist was a bit predictable still serves its purpose.

Lens flare is the worst thing in the whole movie and is really irritating at times. The weak plot which got worse due to the censoring of the controversial dialogue causes the lose of the whole point of the rivalry. Misuse of BGM and misplacing them adds to the headaches of the film.

Still in the end, an okayish watchable action entertainer

A glorious life story has been depicted as a mockery due to commercial interests of the makers and the greed of its producers.

Prithvi looks comical in his character. Vivek Oberoi fails to recreate his charismatic villain in Lucifer.

The dirty mindset of the people behind this movie was clear in their depiction of a differently abled character.

Real Prithvi and the kind of social image he has created are very much different. It is so uncivilized to use a differently able character to add severity to a dad's character.

Overall its an avoidable movie.

Plot of the Movie:

Prthviraj is a well known businessmen. Once he had a rift with the IG of law and order played by Vivek Oberoi and how Prthviraj personal and business life changes and how he bounces back forms the rest part of the movie....

If going by logics, don't watch it on big screen as it delivers complete entertainment....

We might have seen this story version in many malayalam action masala movies but how its being executed differently, thats what matters and here writer Jinu Abhrabham had beautifully penned it....

After a sabbatical of 6 years action entertainer film maker Shaji Kailas is back and from this, there is no doubt he is still the uncrowned action filmaker king.... The shots, the visuals that he conceives always always entertains the audience and here he delivered Kaduva with the same spirit...

Abhinandan Ramanujan cinematography was excellent....

Jakes Bejoy BGM was impactful but somewhere the music reminds of other south & action movies & his song direction was above average...

Samyukta performance was good...She infact didn't let the audience to feel that a heroine was irrelevant in such kind of a movie..

After Lucifer, Vivek Oberoi again back as a badass but nothing different was seen from his experience as what we saw in Lucifer same being observed here but with a little extra badass act..

Prthviraj , the mane.... Classss.. Although the character name had a weightage which for a Prthviraj will be heavy to carry but when it comes to performance, he just nullified it.... After a long time Prthviraj back to action and now after Mohnalal, Mammootty, Suresh Gopi, in Malayalam one who folds the dhoti, curl the moustache and delivers kick-ass performance it's only and only Prthviraj.... Overall a mass masala entertainer action movie which need to be watched over a big screen...

This is a just a formulaic mass masala from Shaji Kailas, first half was even more engaging considering the mess they created on the second half,. Lack of comedy is a also a big minus for the movie.

The heart of a good mass masala entertainer is making the audience feel the adrenaline rush which was clearly lacking , even the fans went quiet after the initial action block.

Expected much from the actor , and even though Shaji Kailas was in a bad form , really expected a come back from him.

How come a director like Mr. Shaji does this type of movie. So pathetic. Weak Script and story. Why Mr. Prithvi act in this worst movie. Our superstars are not selective nowadays. They are just before money. They have to understand that they are losing credibility and value by acting movies like this.

Well same old cliche story bt its watchable too. The main thing there is no lag in movie bt still a one time watchable only. Those who like mass commercial movies can watch this. Those who expect something new this movie will be a disappointment for you.
