Is Als Curable: Eric Dane Leans on Wife Rebecca Gayheart, Fatal Car Accident Survivor, After Alarming Als Symptoms
Image
There’s something bitterly poetic about life throwing curveballs right when we think we’ve found our footing. One man’s muscles betray him, another woman’s past bleeds into her present… yet somehow, amid the emotional carnage, love resurfaces like a stubborn weed through concrete. Eric Dane, known to many as McSteamy, now finds himself at the mercy of Als, a disease that isn’t just unkind; it’s merciless.

His wife, Rebecca Gayheart, once buried under the grief of a tragic accident, now rises not as a phoenix, but as a quiet, unshakable pillar. And while Als has no known cure, the emotional alchemy between the couple might be the only medicine that matters right now.

When Eric Dane first noticed the odd tingle in his right hand, he chalked it up to digital fatigue.

Epic Ruptures and Resonances: Remembering Kumar Shahani (1940–2024)
Image
Kasba. The epic may go to the origins: the archetypes of thought, emotion and spiritual desire, and dissolve them in the present. The sensuous, contemporary life, seen from the perspectives of both past and future: film. Like music, the cinema is experienced as a continuous, live process of energies. It is conceived and best remembered in a flash, a composite whole.—Kumar Shahani, Film as a Contemporary ArtA sequence from Kasba (1990), directed by Kumar Shahani, has remained imprinted in my mind. Adapted from Anton Chekhov’s 1900 novella In The Ravine, Shahani’s melodrama is an exploration of feudal patriarchy in a small township in the mountains of Kangra. The film follows the younger daughter-in-law Tejo’s (Mita Vashisht) brutal power grab, which will finally culminate in the killing of the male heir to the family business. Immediately following this harrowing scene, Tejo stands at the edge of an open window,...

The Ravine (2021)
Eric Dane & Teri Polo in Small Town Crime Thriller 'The Ravine' Trailer
The Ravine (2021)
"We all experience darkness." Okay sure, I guess we all do, so...? Cinedigm has revealed an official trailer for an indie crime thriller titled The Ravine, now opening in theaters and on VOD this May. This premiered last year at a few film festivals but nothing worth mentioning. Inspired by true events, The Ravine is a story of faith, forgiveness, and most of all, the restoration of hope – even for the most seemingly unredeemable among us. When an unspeakable crime rocks a peaceful community in Akron, Ohio, family and friends are left to wonder if they overlooked the murderer among them or if there might be more to the story. The film stars Eric Dane, Teri Polo, Peter Facinelli, and Leslie Uggams. It looks like yet another forgettable, bland "there's something bad going on in this town" film that there are a dime-a-dozen of already. Oh well. Here's the official...
