Kevin & Matthew McManus return with another signature sci-fi story, exploring the existential ramifications of humanity coming up against something beyond their understanding or control. In their previous feature The Block Island Sound (2020), a family struggles to grieve the slow-progressive loss of their father to dementia while also coming to terms with the existence of an Alien conspiracy. Similarly, their sophomore effort, Redux Redux, follows a grieving mother utilizing the multiverse to kill her daughter’s murderer over and over and over again. We all grieve differently.
Michaela McManus (The Block Island Sound) stars as Irene, a tough-as-nails woman whose only purpose in life is to see her daughter again. And she is prepared to go great lengths to make that happen. With the help of a multi-dimensional travel device, she moves from one universe to another hunting down the serial killer (played byThe Ranger‘s Jeremy Holm) that murdered her daughter.

Titane, Julia Ducournau's bizarre "vehicle horror" film from 2021, is coming to free streaming soon. Starting February 16, fans of the weird will be able to stream Titane on Tubi. They will only have to endure the occasional interruption of ads, although, with Titane, it's safe to say that you will probably need to take a break. Yes, it is that shocking.
In Titane, Agathe Rousselle gives life to Alexia, a model who works at a motor show as an exotic dancer. Her hair conceals a large scar on the side of her head, which is due to a metal plate that was installed after a car crash she was involved in when she was just a child. Alexia is a beautiful woman who draws the attention of car fanatics, and one of them tries to assault her. When Alexia fights back and brutally murders him, she celebrates by getting inside a Cadillac and.

The Wolf of Snow Hollow, one of modern horror's most underappreciated movies, will land on Tubi next February. Considering Leigh Whannell's newest adaptation of the horror subgenre, Wolf Man, wasn’t exactly as acclaimed as everyone hoped, we still have to rely on the werewolf movies that can make an impact. Jim Cummings' The Wolf of Snow Hollow is one of them.
The Wolf of Snow Hollow can be streamed for free on the platform with one of the finest collections in today's streaming landscape. Other horror titles that have also recently joined the free service include two Stephen King movies (Misery and The Boogeyman), and both the 1979 and 2005 versions of The Amityville Horror. In terms of other genres, you will also be able to stream 1984's The Terminator, the legacy sequel Bill & Ted Face The Music, and dramas like Monster's Ball and Selena.

Presented by Steven C. Miller’s Werewolves, Bloody Disgusting is looking to the stars and howling at the moon with Werewolves Week. Today, Rachel Reeves takes a bite out of seven under-seen werewolf movies you don’t want to miss.
Werewolves have long prowled the shadows of horror cinema, their natural knack for a meaty metaphor and fur-clad ferocity captivating audiences for generations. While classics like An American Werewolf in London, The Howling, and The Wolf Man often lead the crowded werewolf genre pack, it also teems with lesser-known gems waiting to sink their teeth into new fans.
From campy cult favorites to atmospheric thrillers brimming with eerie allure, the enduring appeal of the werewolf metaphor lies in its raw exploration of duality—the primal versus the civilized, man versus the beast. It’s a vessel for themes of transformation, rage, addiction and identity, resonating with anyone who has wrestled with their inner demons.

Director Alex Herron’s Dark Windows introduces a conventional slasher setup that pits a masked killer against vacationing teens but teases a potential twist: what if the teens aren’t so innocent?
Brainstorm Media’s horror slasher sees a masked killer invade a quiet weekend getaway and it’s now streaming on Screambox. There’s nowhere to hide for the teens fleeing from a tragic event.
The film is said to “take audiences on a ride of passion, loss, terror and horrific, unthinkable ways of seeking revenge.”
In Dark Windows, “A group of teenagers take a trip to an isolated summerhouse in the countryside. What starts as a peaceful getaway turns into a horrific nightmare when a masked man begins to terrorize them in the most gruesome ways.”
Written by Wolf Kraft, Dark Windows stars Anna Bullard (Marinette), Annie Hamilton (The Wolf of Snow Hollow), Rory Alexander, Jóel Sæmundsson, and Morten Holst.

From Blumhouse and visionary writer-director Leigh Whannell, the creators of the chilling modern monster tale The Invisible Man, comes a terrifying new lupine nightmare: Wolf Man.
Golden Globe nominee Christopher Abbott stars as Blake, a San Francisco husband and father, who inherits his remote childhood home in rural Oregon after his own father vanishes and is presumed dead. With his marriage to his high-powered wife, Charlotte, fraying, Blake persuades Charlotte to take a break from the city and visit the property with their young daughter, Ginger.
But as the family approaches the farmhouse in the dead of night, they’re attacked by an unseen animal and, in a desperate escape, barricade themselves inside the home as the creature prowls the perimeter. As the night stretches on, however, Blake begins to behave strangely, transforming into something unrecognizable, and Charlotte will be forced to...

In the upcoming Redux Redux, “Irene Kelly (Michaela McManus) travels through the multiverse, killing her daughter’s murderer over and over again.
“She grows addicted to the revenge streak, putting her own humanity in jeopardy.”
Michaela McManus stars alongside Jim Cummings, Jeremy Holm, Taylor Misiak (“Dave”), Grace Van Dien (“Stranger Things”) and Stella Marcus.
Redux Redux is the first movie from the McManus brothers’ Mothership Motion Pictures.
“We couldn’t be more excited to be working with the entire Mothership team to bring Redux Redux to the big screen,” said the McManus brothers. “We’re thrilled to follow up The Block Island Sound with another genre bender starring our sister in her most violent role yet. We can’t wait to share it with audiences next year.

While Joel and Ethan Coen have never made a horror movie, their films tend to have moments of abrupt and brutal violence. Sometimes these scenes are played straight, like in No Country for Old Men, but a lot of them are played for pitch-black humor. If they were to ever dip their toes into the horror genre, it would certainly lean towards horror-comedy, and its not hard to imagine it looking something like 2020's The Wolf of Snow Hollow.

Jim Cummings is tired of the bullshit. Perhaps he has been his entire career. He’s been writing and directing short films since 2009, but it was his 2016 “Thunder Road,” that brought him wide attention and acclaim.
Starring himself as a police officer eulogizing his mother, then singing and dancing to the Bruce Springsteen track at her funeral, the short is centered on Cummings’ raw, tragic yet hilarious performance, all captured in one take. He would eventually go on to write and direct a feature version in 2018 that fleshed out the character and allowed Cummings to further showcase his twisted sense of humor and pathos. After following this up with “The Wolf of Snow Hollow” and “The Beta Test,” Cummings and producers Thomas Cross and Dustin Hahn return to short form with this year’s “The Last Brunch” and most recently, “Is Now a Good Time?”
Again written, directed, and starring Cummings,...

There's a rare type of film that breaks halfway through or so, where the story we've been following suddenly shifts into something totally unexpected, or outright cuts to new characters completely. Of course, Alfred Hitchock's Psycho is famous for this, and it seems to be most prominent in horror films like that Audition, One Cut of the Dead, From Dusk Till Dawn, The Empty Man, and Zach Cregger's recent film, Barbarian. Now add Francis Galluppi's feature film debut, the deliciously tense Western thriller, The Last Stop in Yuma County, which has finally hit the masses this week. Its success on the festival circuit led to Galluppi being tapped to helm one of the next installments in the timeless Evil Dead franchise.

There's a trend brewing in Hollywood these days among promising indie filmmakers. Actually, it's been happening for decades, come to think of it, but two recent examples are worthy of note due to their sort of parallel journeys. First came actor-turned-filmmaker Zach Cregger, whose hit film Barbarian paved the way for a reportedly outrageous bidding war for his next project, an ensemble feature called Weapons. More recently, indie filmmaker Francis Galluppi, in his feature film directing debut, has been turning heads with his deliciously tense thriller The Last Stop in Yuma County, which has finally hit the masses this week. Its success thus far has surely led to his helming of an upcoming high-profile film installment in the timeless Evil Dead franchise.

Jim Cummings both stars in and executive produces The Last Stop in Yuma County, diving into a tense hostage situation. Cummings embraced the challenge of playing a cowardly character in the film and enjoyed the camaraderie with the cast members. Though drawn to directing, Cummings found acting in a project he didn't create to be liberating, acknowledging the challenges in indie filmmaking.
Acclaimed indie filmmaker Jim Cummings is stepping in front of the camera for the crime thriller The Last Stop in Yuma County. Since making his feature directorial debut with the movie adaptation of his Sundance award-winning short Thunder Road, Cummings has largely made a name for himself as a multihyphenate filmmaker, including writing and directing the acclaimed 2020 horror-comedy The Wolf of Snow Hollow and co-writing/co-directing the 2021 erotic thriller The Beta Test, on which he also was the editor.

While we await the next feature from triple threat, actor/writer/director Jim Cummings—known for his excellent indies, “Thunder Road,” The Wolf of Snow Hollow” and “The Beta Test”—the actor is still demonstrating he can be a viable lead outside of his own movies too. Anyone who knows and loves a theater kid understands that they can be… a little much. To their credit, theater kids accept and embrace this reputation. Both the excessiveness of theater kids and their willingness to celebrate their extremities can be seen in the comedy Theater Camp, directed by Molly Gordon and Nick Lieberman. After winning over critics and earning a strong, if limited, return in theaters, Theater Camp has come to Hulu.
Based on a short film that Gordon and Lieberman made with Ben Platt and Noah Galvin, Theater Camp features a group of theater kids trying to save their camp from the founder’s jerky son, who wants to sell it off for something more profitable. Both self-aware and sincere, Theater Camp is a love letter to the over-the-top nerds who can sing every word of A Chorus Line and know that Andrew Rannells was in Street Sharks.

To the horror enthusiasts eager for a fresh cinematic experience, may I introduce: Dark Windows. "We don't take too kindly to strangers around the Hollow, that's for sure..." Gravitas Ventures has released an official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Wolf Hollow, a super low budget werewolf project from Texas-native filmmaker Mark Cantu. It's set to launch on VOD in August if anyone is interested in having some werewolf fun. Not to be confused with Jim Cummings' The Wolf of Snow Hollow. A group of young filmmakers, led by neophyte producer Alex Romero (Christina Krakowski), venture out on a location scout in rural Pennsylvania. Deep into the back country, it quickly becomes apparent they have stumbled onto a family of werewolves and must now try to survive the night. The horror stars Christina Krakowski, Noah Welter, Felissa Rose, Hannah Fierman, Lynn Lowry, Brian Ceponis, Jess Uhler, Kamarra Cole, Brandon Krum. Most of this looks like junk, until the man-in-suit werewolves show up and then hell yes.

After premiering on Fandor last fall, the SXSW genre-bender Jethica is now streaming on the Bloody Disgusting-powered Screambox!
Variety hailed Jethica as an “ingenious, deadpan horror-satire that asks, ‘Can you ghost a ghost?’”
Now that the movie has been available to stream for a few weeks, we’re sharing this hilarious Spoilery trailer that counts off how many times a character says “Jethica” in Jethica.
In this future cult classic, Jessica lives in fear of a man named Kevin who follows her everywhere she goes. While on a road trip in New Mexico, she reconnects with Elena—an old friend she hasn’t seen since high school—who has been hiding out at her deceased grandmother’s ranch. When Kevin mysteriously appears again, Jessica and Elena seek help from beyond the grave to get rid of him for good… but Kevin is different from other stalkers and won’t move on so easily.

If you need a periodic reminder that Steven Spielberg is one of our greatest living filmmakers, look no further than "The Fabelmans," which /Film's Chris Evangelista raves about in his review. It could have been really easy for Spielberg to construct another half-hearted love letter to the movies, but there's so much more going on under the surface than its saccharine marketing would lead you to believe. The semi-autobiographical feature is less about how his fictional childhood counterpart grew up to become a filmmaking wizard, and more about how a gifted child builds his cinematic language around his parent's deteriorating marriage.
"The Fabelmans" is not only one of the best films of the year, but a personal favorite as well. It plays like Spielberg confronting a series of complicated feelings throughout his childhood, while on his way to becoming the blockbuster legend we know today. The film is stacked with...

This article contains major spoilers for "The Fabelmans."
"The Fabelmans" — Steven Spielberg's semi-autobiographical tale about a creative child building his cinematic language through the lens of his parent's deteriorating marriage — is an intimate epic whose emotional beats are highlighted by its ensemble cast.
Michelle Williams and Paul Dano soar as representations of his folks, in addition to Seth Rogen as the family friend, Bennie. Gabriel Labelle as Sammy Fabelman is the film's beating heart, not only because the character calls for it, but because he turns in a truly magnificent central performance. Even if you strip away the movie's fundamental building blocks, however, what you're left with is a series of memorable side characters who only need a scene to work their magic.
Life is full of people that enter our lives at unexpected times and imprint themselves onto us in ways we never expect. Judd Hirsch is riveting as Sammy's Uncle Boris,...

Inspired by the novel of the same name by Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid's Tale is a dystopian series on an extremely patriarchal and totalitarian future in which 'handmaids' are forced to produce children for the ruling class. The show has made Elisabeth Moss (who plays the protagonist Offred/June) a household name while garnering similar acclaim for Yvonne Strahovski and marking a major acting comeback for Joseph Fiennes.
Apart from these actors, The Handmaid's Tale has also had its share of guest appearances featuring prominent character actors in small yet significant roles.
Updated on November 12th, 2022 by Colin McCormick: With The Handmaid's Tale returning for its fifth season, fans can rejoin the gripping dystopian story and its complex characters. But while the likes of Elizabeth Moss and Ann Dowd continue to lead the show as the main cast, there have been a number of other notable actors who have appeared in guest roles.

Hulu’s Hellraiser, a reimagining of Clive Barker’s 1987 horror classic from director David Bruckner, will debut in the U.S. exclusively on Hulu on October 7, and Bloody Disgusting has learned that Lakeshore Records will release the Hellraiser (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) on October 7 as well. And today we’re debuting an exclusive track from the score!
Ben Lovett composed the score for Hulu’s brand new Hellraiser movie, and the track you can listen to down below takes you deep inside the Puzzle Box. It’s titled, fittingly, “Blood Box.”
Lovett tells Bloody Disgusting, “How does one approach music for a Hellraiser film without the outsized influence of Christopher Young’s original score? It’s one of the most famous pieces of music in the genre and for David and myself, part of the fabric of what makes a Hellraiser movie. We were very fortunate that Mr. Young gave...

Horror movies about food disorders are few and far between, or at least I haven’t seen many at all. But that is the subject that Shapeless tackles and it goes to some extreme places with it.
The film follows Ivy, a jazz singer who isn’t quite struggling but dreams of something bigger and better, while also suffering from an eating disorder that risks ruining not only her career but her whole life.
Visually, Shapeless is phenomenal. Her first feature film, director Samantha Aldana can obviously take plenty of credit for this but cinematographer Natalie Kingston deserves plenty of praise also. It is no surprise at all that she has a couple of noteworthy titles on her C.V. such as...

The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has made everyday life challenging for everyone. Despite the fact filmmakers have had to drastically change the way movies are made to ensure the safety of their cast and crew, we’ve gotten a slew of pandemic-shot films in the past couple of years. Director Pete Ohs (Everything is Beautiful Far Away) has proven he’s more than capable of making an extraordinarily ambitious movie during a global pandemic. Jethica is Ohs’ third feature film and is having its World Premiere at this year’s SXSW Film Festival.
Jethica opens with Elena, played by Callie Hernandez hooking up with a guy in a car and then telling him a story about living alone in her grandmother...
