Decent laugh

I really recommend it for a good laugh.

Ignore the medical inaccuracies. And this comes from a doctor :)

Day or night, he'll be there any time at all Doctor Mamou-Mani!

Before the cast and credits, they've issued a warning : it's based on a true story (why not?) but we do put our trust in our doctors .

The film has not to be taken seriously ,because it is at its best a good farce ,with plenty of side-splitting scenes ,although it loses steam towards the end .

It happens on Xmas night : to be a doctor on duty is no laughing party when you 're an alcoholic , and you might be struck off the medical register; and,to crown it all,you can hardly walk, suffering from a backache .A delivery boy accepts to be his "replacement " He will see the patients and the true docteur will give him the "treatment " via earpieces .....

The Michel Blanc/Hakim Jemily pair works quite well ; the screenplay is often witty and hilarious: the parents trying to "help" the doctor , the chic surgeon who does not want to treat his own family ,the reveller and his lost lobster, and more....

On the other hand , the movie has drama pretensions and it gets in the way : the daughter at odds with her father , and ,coincidence ,who tries to commit suicide the same night ,it's hackneyed ;the death of little brother in an avalanche ... Instrumental music is tuneful but the horrible disco-funk stuff spoils some beautiful night scenes .

I could also do without the -predictable- epilogue, but "docteur?" is ,by large ,a good comedy,so why deny yourself some good fun?

What's up Doc .. no really, what's up?

It's funny that at the start of the movie, it does state that you should trust your doctor. As in, this is just a movie. I have to admit, I could imagine some of the things actually happening. We are all human after all. Still you would like to believe that doctors are above things and are not prone to have moods while trying to help the general public.

But this is a comedy, so everything happening is meant to make you laugh. Even when it sometimes gets sad or shouldn't be too funny. Of course you have to suspend your disbelief - especially considering the delivery guy ... not just convenient, but almost impossible that he wouldn't be busy on a day like the one this is supposed to happen.

But if you let that aside, the movie will entertain you enough to not think about this too much.

THE UNEXPECTED HAPPINESS

This is one of the movies you watch accidentally and all of a sudden your day and your heart lightens up.

I really loved that movie. The two protagonists. The compassionate smile of Hakim Jemili. The acting skills of Michel Blanc. The chemistry between them.

A light story, some serious stuff going on but always watched from the funny and lovely side.

It's so great laughing so hard!! I had almost forgotten how this feels. All movies that are supposed to be comedies, look alike. Cheap sense of humour. Same jokes. Nothing unexpected.

But this film, is so unique. So simple. So heart lightening and heart warming.

A little gem to spend your evening, your night. Something to watch alone or with company. A movie to recommend to people you love.

I loved how the film made me feel more compassionate to people.

Highly recommended for the scenes that were genuinely funny yet not at all unrealistic or whopping. And for the fact that there was no need for excessive drama to make this interesting.

Good film, about real Doctorship

Being a doctor is a gift and really hard work. I liked a lot this film and the approach that were used. Little naughty helper later succeed also to choose a right scenario for his life.

I wish more doctors would really care their patients if they choose this way of life or better to say lifestyle... Unfortunately covid destroy last good ones.. Stay healthy all! And enjoy this good movie.

absolute corker

..... this is your worst nightmare a doctor who is not really a doctor

.....but in fact it is not because it is simply a really funny comedy

MR Blanc and Djemili both hilarious here. Blanc as a bored end-of-the-line on-call doctor who really has lost all faith in everything and the world; and Hakim a young wide-eyed Uber Eats delivery boy with a thousand schemes running around in his head and the hope of a better more fruitful existence

Christmas Eve is the backdrop here and it delivers a picture of hope brotherliness and Samaritan behaviour

Uplifting tender sweet of-course not real but you come away feeling happy .... a beautiful thing .... Blanc is awesome ... as most times always is.
