Trivia

De son vivant

Edit
Catherine Deneuve suffered a minor stroke during filming.
Catherine Deneuve has made two other films under the direction of Emmanuelle Bercot: "Elle s'en va" and "La tête haute". This is the 3rd time they worked together.
On presenting the film at Cannes Film Festival on July 10, 2021, Catherine Deneuve received a 5+ minute standing ovation from the Grand Lumiere Theatre audience before and after the film, partially because she suffered a minor ischemic stroke during filming in 2019 and spent most of 2020 recovering from her accident. The audience were thrilled to receive her in great health at the film festival. Catherine Deneuve later shared with reporters that the unexpected welcome by the audience was extremely moving for her. She had visible tears in her eyes during event which was broadcast live by Cannes Film Festival.
Benoit Magimel lost more than sixty kilos during the shooting of this film, sixty kilos accumulated. He first lost weight, then gained again because of the Catherine Deneuve stroke that made the shooting stop for several months, then lost weight again after the shooting resumed.
