This is the sequel of the film Diamond Sword (2016), also directed by Rustem Abdrashev, as well as the theatrical cut version of the second season of the TV series Kazakh Khanate (2017) with 10 episodes of about 40 minutes each, by Western media referred as the Game of Thrones (2011) from Kazakhstan after the television premiere. Both theatrical films are based as well as the TV series on motives of the famous novel trilogy entitled "The Nomads" (1976) by the venerable Kazakh writer Ilyas Yesenberlin.
The movie was submitted as Kazakhstan's entry for the 'Best Foreign Language Film' category of the 92nd Academy Awards in 2020.
