The ninth film in the Hellraiser film series is set to move to DVD shelves October 18th and now the first trailer for this feature is available. Actor Doug Bradley has played Pinhead, the central antagonist, in the previous eight films, but he declined to participate in this latest film, titled Hellraiser: Revelations, after reading the script (Bradley). The short shoot time of two weeks also signals a possible rush to complete the film by Puzzlebox Films, which has no other titles attached to its name. Horror fans and Hellraiser fans can take a look at the clip here, which involves a late night at a bar, a bum, a box, and a bumbling line or two.

Hold on to your pants fellas we have a quick update on the previously announced 'Piranha 3D: The Sequel'. Better known currently as 'Piranha 3Dd' (get it!?) the follow-up is due to arrive in theatres next Summer and those boys over at Bloody Disgusting have announced a few snippets of deets about the project. First off it will shot in real 3D and that 'Feast', 'Feast II: Sloppy Seconds' and 'Feast III: The Happy Finish' helmer John Gulager will indeed be in the directors chair. After the eye-popping, blood-soaked "Piranha 3D" was both a critical and box office hit this summer, Dimension wants to get back in the water. Sure to pack in even more gruesome kills and, according to its title, more nudity, "Pirahna 3 Dd" is on its way.

According to Deadline Hollywood, Dimension wants to have "Piranha 3 Dd" in theaters by late August 2011. John Gulager, of "Project Greenlight" fame and director of guilty pleasure creature-feature "Feast," is set to direct, while "Saw 3D" scribes Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan will write.

Melton and Dunstan got their start on "Feast" before writing four "Saw" sequels. Gulager directed two sequels to "Feast," "Feast II: Sloppy Seconds" and "Feast III: The Happy Finish."

Another week in October, another bounty crop of horror DVDs and Blu-rays. This week we have home entertainment from recent theatrical releases of nightmares of the mind as well as re-releases of classic and campy horror, all with boatloads of extras.

Then there are other horror titles that are being re-released on Blu-ray or in packs for double dipping. On top of that, horror offerings from Asia, past seasons of TV shows, manga, novels, and even video games are all vying for our pocketbooks. And we still have four more weeks of October to go.

Next year October needs to begin in August.

Feast was one of the greatest new horror movies made in awhile. It was shocking, it had twists, it was gorey and it was just an all around awesome time. Feast 2 caught me out of left field and was one of the biggest dissapointments for me ever. I wanted more of Feast and instead we got a b-movie cheesfest. Topless biker chicks, the most disgusting monster autopsy ever, and insane, unsafe, full on puking, gross out, funny-rather-than-terrifying, blood drenched scenes. Oh baby. The politically correct and faint of stomach should stay away from this movie. Psycho, Rear Window and Vertigo If you haven't yet checked out my Movie Magic article from Monday it was inspired by the audio commentary from Psycho and I have yet to check out the special features for either Rear Window or Vertigo, but I did get a chance to watch Vertigo just last night. While Psycho is great and Rear Window may be my favorite Hitchcock film I have no idea what people see in Vertigo. That film is long and for the most part downright boring. I don't think the con pulled on Scottie is all that intriguing and the hokey dialogue is just too much to bear. The AFI recently named Vertigo the ninth best American movie ever made, with Psycho at 14 and Rear Window at 48. Maybe I am in the minority, but Vertigo...

One of the beast theatre experiences some of us DC'ers had was when Feast (review) got a very limited release. Seeing so much insane gore and monster dongs on a huge screen just can't be topped.

Andrew Kasch checked in from Comic-Con with some news about Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds and Feast 3: The Happy Finish. The first sequel is reported to be more light hearted than the original, with the setting taking place in the day time. However, don't think that will impact the gore. We're told the blood will be flying like before even with Feast 2 being more slapstick.

Feast 3 will be the opposite of it's predecessor with a darker, seedier setting. According to the franchises director, John Gulager, the third will "take us down the rabbit hole", literally. The film will take place below the surface.

The Fango fiends found a gory surprise in their inbox today in the form of a boatload of behind the scenes stills from Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds, one of which you can see on your right.

The sequel, filmed back-to-back with Feast 3: The Happy Ending, sees the return of screenwriters Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton as well as director John Gulager. Some of the pics may be considered spoilers as to how characters meet their demise, but you shouldn’t worry too much; it’s not like you’d expect many will live through this one.
