The cast also includes Ayisha Issa (Transplant), Steven Ogg, Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries), Michael Eklund (The Call) and Jonathan Cherry (Goon). Jericho, who also is the lead singer of the rock band Fozzy, is also no stranger to the genre, seen most recently...

Medical dramas are a prominent part of modern television and manage to captivate audiences with their immense plots. Though many of these shows follow the same format and structure, fans still manage to fall in love with this genre time and time again. As such, fans enjoy watching these professionals avidly and often view these shows as a mystery that needs to be solved before time runs out.
Although this genre has been popular for decades, the 2020s have provided some of the biggest hitters. The Covid-19 pandemic inspired a ton of writers and allowed them to view the modern healthcare system from an entirely different perspective. Thus, it seems that this genre will continue to see exponential growth throughout this decade.
A Syrian Refugee Is Determined to Start a New Life Transplant
Medical dramas often focus on the personal and the professional, and Transplant is a fantastic example of this dynamic.

Can you believe it’s been over a decade since Spartacus first brought its blood-soaked, action-packed drama to our screens? Back in 2010, this hit show redefined the historical epics with its unapologetic intense storytelling and raw actions. Though Gladiator and Rome did lay the groundwork for sword-and-sandal greatness, Spartacus intensified the level, delivering four seasons of unforgettable action.
Of course, it wasn’t just the on-screen drama that had us hooked to our screens, behind the scenes, the heartbreaking loss of Andy Whitfield after Season 1 broke our hearts. But the series persevered, with Liam McIntyre stepping in to finish this epic saga of the Thracian rebel leader.

And the legacy of the legendary storyline has now returned once again with the upcoming spinoff, Spartacus: House of Ashur. Reportedly, Starz is revisiting the story but with an added twist, what if Ashur, the scheming underdog...

Canada’s Sphere Media has completed its C$24.6M ($18.2M) of UK-based distributor Abacus Media Rights. Going forwards, Abacus will be known as Sphere Abacus and act as Sphere’s sales wing.
Abacus founder and Managing Director Jonathan Ford will take up the same role at Sphere Abacus, reporting directly to Sphere CEO Bruno Dubé.
Sphere had struck the deal to buy Abacus — which shops the likes of Leaving Neverland, Travels With Agatha, Scrublands and Sphere’s Sort Of — back in June after a search for a distribution partner. Abacus has carved out a reputation as a key mid-sized distributor after launching in early 2020, just as the Covid-19 pandemic hit Europe.
The plan for Sphere Abacus going forwards is for it to work with Sphere’s production business and continue to invest in, pre-sell and sell scripted and unscripted productions from indie producers. The company will remain in London and structurally little will change.

The following contains major spoilers for Silent Witness Series 27, Episodes 1 and 2, "Effective Range - Part 1 and Part 2," now streaming on BritBox.
Silent Witness is one of the longest-running TV crime dramas -- and the Series 27 premiere illustrates why it's an institution on British television. "Effective Range" marks the return of Dr. Nikki Alexander and company, but it's not just a great Silent Witness premiere; it's a great piece of TV drama, period. Incredible guest stars plus an almost flawless script by Dudi Appleton and Jim Keeble (who also penned the Series 26 premiere) make for genuinely gripping television.
"Effective Range" brings back the entire core cast from Series 26, and features Blake's 7 alum Josette Simon -- in her third different role on the show -- as well as former Transplant star John Hannah in the two lead guest roles. The actors have plenty to work with, as the plot concerns a serial killer named Calvin Dunn,...

Procedural TV shows have evolved beyond predictable formulas, with overlooked series offering unique narratives and diverse genres. Shows like iZombie and Pushing Daisies break the procedural mold, providing unexpected twists and social commentary on humanity. Transplant, The Closer, Hudson & Rex, and other underrated procedurals offer compelling characters and relevant storylines that captivate audiences.
When the word procedural comes to mind, audiences might think of predictable and formulaic TV shows, but the best-underrated procedurals have much more to offer than that. Procedurals can exist within a variety of genres and have been some of the most popular pieces of network television in history. From medical dramas like Grey's Anatomy to legal shows like Law & Order, procedurals have become a hallmark of how TV is made and has greatly influenced the way audiences consume media. Many of the most overlooked shows break out of this mold, which is why viewers should be watching them.

You know you love her, and why wouldn't you?
Eva Longoria is not only a talented actress who chooses projects that speak not just to her amazing acting talent but resonate with her heart in a way that shows in her performances.
She may have gotten recognition from her role on a drama-dripping soap opera with a cast of actors who have no right to be as attractive as they are talented, but Longoria has proven she is so much more than a pretty face and a smile that could melt steel.
With wins from the Screen Actors Guild and the People's Choice, the actress is a familiar face who has been entertaining folks since the start of the millennium.
If this fantastic woman hasn't won you over yet, do a quick search of her to see how she brings thousands of dollars to charities and foundations that help impoverished communities and immigrants worldwide.

Of course Maya Rudolph brought her Beyoncé impression back to Saturday Night Live this week… and of course she had to go back on Hot Ones.
Rudolph once again played the pop icon during her SNL hosting gig this week and tried to eat more painfully hot chicken wings as a guest on the talk show Hot Ones. This time, Beyoncé — decked out in full Cowboy Carter gear with a cowboy hat — let host Sean Evans (played by Mikey Day) know right away: “It’s a pleasure for you to have me.

Jeff Bader, president of program planning strategy at NBCUniversal Entertainment, has explained why Quantum Leap has been canceled after two seasons.
In an interview with TVLine, Bader called Quantum Leap “softer” than some other shows that transitioned to the streamer.

The following contains major spoilers from Chicago Med Season 9, Episode 10, "You Just Might Find You Get What You Need," which debuted Wednesday, May 1 on NBC.
At least once in every season of Chicago Med, there is an episode where things go from dramatic to full-on chaotic. "You Just Might Find You Get What You Need" is that episode for Season 9. The episode includes a helicopter that almost crashes, another shooting outside of the hospital, a woman who allegedly jumped off a balcony and something that is definitely not the flu. Visually and in terms of cases, this is an hour that's not great if someone's squeamish.
But all of that doesn't make an episode; what matters is what happens to the characters through all of these events. Season 9, Episode 10 has some solid plotlines for Steven Weber, Oliver Platt and Marlyne Barrett -- the latter of which is especially appreciated given...

Medical dramas explore the high-stakes world of healthcare, pushing the boundaries of TV storytelling through innovative and fresh approaches. Popular procedural medical shows like Grey's Anatomy excel in creating drama, while others, like The Resident, focus on the business side of medicine. Unique medical dramas like Good Sam and Transplant tackle personal, societal, and immigration issues, creating emotionally engaging stories alongside medical drama.

More than two years have gone by since we heard that photographer Caitlin Cronenberg, daughter of legendary filmmaker David Cronenberg, would be making her feature directorial debut with a thriller called Humane. Now, more than a year after the project wrapped production, we finally know when we’re going to have the chance to see it: Variety reports that IFC Films and the Shudder streaming service have picked up the U.S. distribution rights, with IFC planning to give the film a theatrical release on April 26th. It will then move to Shudder at a later date. Elevation Pictures will be handling Canadian distribution.
Written and produced by Michael Sparaga of Victory Man Productions, Humane is described as a “dystopian satire” takes place over the course of a single day, months after a global environmental collapse has forced world leaders to take extreme measures to reduce the earth’s population.
