Kind of dumb after the chaos started

It was okay until the cast started acting like zombies. Then it got silly.

My IBS was cured after watching this

Wow, part of me wanted to like this more, I just couldn't get there. It's certainly not covid-bad and was much better than some of the rubbish that I've seen during this lock-down. If you are going to venture forward and watch this, don't expect too much.

Silliness with a message

As part of the current isolated lockdown, I've been viewing oodles of movies I've been meaning to get to for a while; this is a gem that I'm so glad I discovered. As a POV horror fanatic, I've seen them all, from the shlockiest to the elevated. This one resides in the middle of those scales, and is quite happy to do so. It's definitely not the 'scariest' flick, but the entertainment value runs on high the whole time. This movie points a finger (ie: camera) at the current worldwide obsession with social media, at the way every little thing must be documented and shared. A question most found footage movies can never honestly answer is "why are they still FILMING this?" in the midst of chaos and madness and murder. Here the answer is simple: the main character is so driven to capture 'sharable/like-able footage' that she is willing to put her friends and self in danger, and doesn't want to miss a frame. Overall, the main driving plot element is ridiculous (the water turns them into cannibals), but the actors are quite committed and really bring the story to life. Throw in tons of funny elements and you are giddily watching the S**tshow unfold. And, what really shocked me with this movie, was the ending had a crazy twist. Oh, and if you're wondering, the first movie in this series is not nearly as good, so you can just skip that somewhat of a failed attempt at horror.
