This show is a ride. It suddenly goes from the themes of war to your ordinary rainbow coloured cast of characters just singing, dancing with some magic spells here and there. But somehow it just all ties together so well! It's an absolute delight and I hope that Season 2 is even better.
This is the most bizarre thing that I have come across in a long time!!! It is technicolour, mind bending burst into song (A LOT) ridiculousness. My 6 year old loves it. It does actually have the fundamental moral 'lessons' woven into it. It won't be everyone's cup of tea but then nothing is. I enjoy the songs, they're very showbiz.
Did not expect this to be a musical, however I was pleasantly surprised with the music. The story itself is also very good and offers some thoughtful themes and ideas. It is quite similar to the likes of Adventure Time in a good way. The odd blend of humor and serious atmosphere might not be for everybody, but I massively enjoyed it.
I will admit, the centaur characters were at times a bit ~much~ but Horse is an interesting protagonist and I really liked the greater mystery/theming behind the show.
The animation is very fun and mobile and I like the heavy contrast between the more silly aspects and the serious gritty stuff not only in tone but also music and visuals.

I was very skeptical of this show because of how over the top and unfocused the humor seemed from the trailer and honestly throughout the series in the general. BUT it was seriously worth the patience to get to the end because it's so clear that this show has a lot more to offer than it lead us to believe and it's made me very excited for a second season. You get glimpses of something dark going on in the background of the show from the beginning, and the payoff is worth it once you reach the end of the season and everything starts to come together. If you like adventure time, Steven universe, legend of Korra, the owl house, midnight gospel and other similar shows, seriously give this a shot, get to the end and see how you feel because it exceeded my expectations.
It's got a little bit of everything. It's got humor for adults and kids (especially us adults who like really low brow humor), lots of beautiful songs, goofy nonsense, dark under bellies, scary relatable themes, and lots of heart. It's major Steven Universe + Adventure Time vibes but is also its own thing. Can't wait for season 2!
