    Not actually a satire.

After hearing the title, I looked this up, fully expecting a satire, fake reality show making fun of both the overdone house flipping and real-life murder shows. But, no. It is exactly as named, a show about renovating murder houses with heart warming tales about the people who live there. The (small) bits of humour mixed in make it a bit more tolerable, but in the end it is still just another moronic, intensely American show, slapping a happy face over atrocities, packaged in easy-to-swallow, cute packaging.

This Is The World We Live In

Given the way we sensationalize murders today, are you surprised that this series exists? These folks are providing a fantastic service. They are helping to remove some of the psychological trauma from living in homes where murder has occurred. I hope they spawn a whole industry. Many people weren't told about the event before they moved in. Some didn't find out until closing on the home.

    Disappointed

What a great concept. Unfortunately it was a huge let down. Usually people drawn to these sort of things are true crime junkies,or the curious, this was such a unique way to literally open the doors from a diffrent perspective.

Giving the present owners a new space to call thier own with less creepy reminders could of actually been heartwarming an portrayed thier perspective also in a unique way.

It all fell flat,I only watched one and I can tell you that's more then enough. The two hosts are almost cringe worthy to listen to. OMG it's blood Ewww. So stupid an cheesy. There is no chemistry between the both of them an no apparent interest in the crime itself other then the shock value. At the end when they were talking about how they decorated the place, was like reading from cue-cards the look on the couple's face of "wow this is so fake" was kinda funny. The bad spooky music in the beginning, the black n white flashing house pictures then the upbeat hosts acting all shocked.

I know a thousand years ago these styles of shows worked,ya know trading spaces&paranormal. They infused the same two shows with no actual flow.

    What a shane,coulda be amazing...

    Terrible

A classic reality home makeover format with a morbid twist. Created for the experimental streaming service Quibi and eventually purchased and picked up for a second season by RokuTV, we follow hosts and designers Mikel Welch and Joelle Uzyel as they upgrade aging homes with the catch that each house has contained some sort of horrific murder. The entire series seems like a sketch show bit that was played deadpan and extended for two whole seasons; I honestly couldn't believe throughout that the entire thing was both real and that it was being taken so seriously. Its like the worst parts of TLC and HGTV came together to produce whatever this grisly offspring is. Again, each episode follows the normal makeover format, we're introduced to some new homeowners who found out (typically after purchase) that the home they own had a murder, typically why they got it so cheap, and they then spend a few minutes of each episode going over the gory details and walking through the rooms where it happened. So much of the series is based around "bad energies" and their removal from the homes, and somehow the new paint and board trim will forget the owners of its deathly past and again release those many "bad energies". The first season is filmed where each "flip" is across multiple 5-ish minute episodes, for either the horizontal or vertical format Quibi was pushing, but season two goes back to the expected 22 min episode per new house, ending with the classic makeover reveal to the owners. A lot less renovation that I'd expect in this type of series, again most makeovers are more minor facelifts and landscaping. It felt like a series that wanted to be propelled more by its weird, quirky concept much more than anything of quality. But idk maybe it worked, I ended up watching it. But really, what even is this show?

They do not actually flip the house...

When I first saw this listed I wanted to watch it, but it is not quite what it says it is.

It is a reno show, not a flip show. They are not buying murder houses and then flipping them. Instead, they reno a room or area for the home owners who, as far as I know, keep their newly decorated home. So not a flip.

It is fun to see people who live in a murder house talk about their experiences and weird vibes, and that is the best part of this show.

The actual reno part is short and not as much fun, as the hosts mostly talk about what they want to do and then you see a reveal.
