Why Did BTS’ J-Hope Ask Suga To Audition For Sky Castle? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
It is well known that BTS is a highly famous and critically acclaimed K-pop Band. They have changed the face of Korean music and opened a new era for K-pop. Meanwhile, we also know that the seven members have a powerful familial bond and friendship, often making them very candid with each other. This is the same reason that J Hope once suggested a very interesting thing to Suga. Our own ‘Sunshine’ Hope suggested that Min Yoongi could act in a famous K Drama!

Indhu Rubasingham, an acclaimed theater practitioner, has broken the decades-long white male hold on the reins of power at the National Theatre by being appointed its artistic director, it was being revealed Wednesday in London.
She succeeds current director and chief executive Rufus Norris, who, by the time he departs in 2025, would have held the job for a decade over two terms.
Long tipped for the job, Rubasingham will assume Norris’s director title but will share chief executive duties jointly with present Nt executive director Kate Varah.
In a statement released via the Nt, Rubasingham said that her appointment was ”a huge honor — for me, this is the best job in the world.“ She added that the opportunity to play a role in the Nt’s history “is an incredible privilege and responsibility.”
She said she has witnessed firsthand “the commitment, collaboration, brilliance and pride of those who bring the magic to the building.

Sideshow Brings Frankenstein'S Monster To Life: "First brought to life by the words of Mary Shelley, the creation known as Frankenstein’s Monster has taken on many forms throughout popular culture. Inspired by the iconic literary character and his visual legacy across the centuries, the Frankenstein’s Monster Statue by Sideshow honors the creature’s horror roots and tragic nature with a new, original design.
This stunningly detailed, fully sculpted piece shows the hulking figure cloaked in the pelt of a black bear and clad in patchwork pants. Two large electrodes emerge from his back and silver staples hold his reanimated flesh together. He is painted with a cadaverous mixture of yellows and reds, emphasizing how Frankenstein’s creation straddles the line between life and death.

This month’s installment of Deep Cuts Rising features a variety of horror movies. Some selections reflect a specific day or event in April, and others were chosen at random.
Regardless of how they came to be here, or what they’re about, these past movies can generally be considered overlooked, forgotten or unknown.
This month’s offerings include an anthology, a creature-feature, some found footage, and two slashers.
The House of the Dead (1978)
Directed by Sharron Miller.
The House of the Dead — also known as Last Stop on 13 Street and Alien Zone — is an American stab at an Amicus-style anthology film. Shot in Oklahoma with students from Osu, this low-budget horror omnibus does a creditable job of capturing the macabre spirit of The House That Dripped Blood and The Vault of Horror.

Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which this week features nine matches and is once again filmed at the Dark studios in Orlando, Florida rather than coming from on the road… Anyway, on with the review.
Match #1: Ar Fox & Top Flight def. The Wingmen
My Thoughts: What’s this? The Wingmen in a decent match shocker! I know that’s hard to believe given how they’ve been booked in forever… but it looks like the were given a chance to shine against Top Flight and Ar Fox, who also managed to draw out decent wrestling from the normally-comedic team. Surprising but superb start to this week’s show.
My Score: 3.5 out of 5 Match #2: Red Velvet def. Sofia Castillo
My Thoughts: What went on here then? Red Velvet has a good match on Elevation then we get this on Dark. In one match she looks strong and...

Rauw Alejandro has been teasing Trap Cake Vol. 2 for months, promising to build on the sludgy, trap-soul sounds from his first iteration of the project, which he released back in 2019. The EP finally dropped last night and while it’s a quick, 33-minute ride, it refuses to be limited by brevity. Rauw does a lot with a little time, churning out music that’s more grim and provocative than his last full-length album, Vice Versa, but he’s great when he’s lurking in darkness. There’s a bleak disaffection...

Welcome to this week’s Aew Dynamite review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel you bitch. On this episode of Unsolved Mysteries: Why do birds suddenly appear every time you are near…for me to poop on?! I hate Aew…because I don’t have Tony Khan’s money. F—K! Dead carpet. Shaquille O’Neal is here to wrestle. F—K! Peace out. We have s—t to do, dumb-ass. It’s time to build toward Revolution. You feel me, brah? Lemme un-hook you! Aew…now!

Welcome to this week’s Aew: Dynamite review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and I like Ben Richards…one mean mutherfugger. Hey, do you like good matches with way too many promos surrounding them? You’re gonna love Aew! Well, we do have a World Title match tonight, so let’s see if it is a good one (kinda).
Match #1: Darby Allin def. Ricky Starks
My Opinion: 3.8 out of 5 – This was some fabulous wrestling that got cut off by an interference angle and going too short. That being said, there is so much breath-taking athleticism in here that you’ll go wild for much of this. Starks has a hell of a lot going for him, if this match is any indication. Starks is gonna be a ready for a World Title within a year if he keeps progressing like he is. Allin is a major star at this point,...

The 1975 have released the music video for “Don’t Worry,” the latest visual from the Manchester quartet’s new album Notes on a Conditional Form.
Done in the same CGI-rendered style as past videos like “The Birthday Party,” the simple, utopian “Don’t Worry” clip shows a person walking through a shiny cityscape where buildings are surrounded by trees and sources of renewable energy (wind farms, solar panels, etc.). The passerby looks through the upper window of an apartment building and sees a dancer twirling around their plant-filled living room. The two characters eventually make eye contact,...

Learning to enjoy the 1975 has always required a certain suspension of disbelief. If you can believe that a boy-band-pretty synth-pop quartet from Manchester with a poodle-haired lead singer can create nuanced, voice-of-a-generation anthems hidden inside layers upon layers of irony and bombast, then consider yourself a fan. Matty Healy, the group’s frontman and primary lyricist, may be Gen Y’s premier rock star: a 31-year-old who is as disgusted by fame as he is enthralled by it, a former drug addict who still writes love songs to heroin, a...

The 1975’s new album Notes on a Conditional Form arrives on Friday, and ahead of its release the band shared a YouTube Session performance of the LP’s lead single “People.”
It’s been nearly a year since they released the nü-metal-esque music video for the song, and this clip is a lot more straightforward: Frontman Matty Healy in a (comparatively) demure outfit and sporting a jet-black mohawk, screaming the song’s lyrics into a suspended microphone while the rest of the band plays around him.

Last month, the spread of Covid-19 started to shut down daily activities — everything ranging from mundane commutes to glossy film shoots. “The music industry seemed like the first to respond to that — ‘Oh shit, where are we gonna get content from?'” says Nick Cinelli, a director and animator who works on music videos like Ghostemane’s “Bonesaw” in Los Angeles. “Within three days, I’d gotten calls from six different outlets of music-oriented people: ‘Are you free?’ It was a quick, zeitgeist-y thing. ‘Ok, we need animation now.'...

Actress Sayani Gupta loves the culture and cuisine of Thailand. Thai cuisine, she adds, is so much more than what most people believe it to be.
"Thai cuisine is so much more than what most people think. A wide range of regional cuisines from north to south, makes it nearly impossible to cover but the real fun is in trying to taste (and devour) as much as you can," Sayani said.
"There is something truly extraordinary about waking up with the ocean at your doorstep. I couldn't have found a more peaceful, and breathtaking home in Koh Samui. Nothing beats uninterrupted views and pool access," added the actress.
During her recent Thai vacation, Sayani stayed in Airbnb properties.
"My home in Bangkok, was Zen central. It was a peaceful haven, amidst the city. Loved the minimalist design and soothing pallet - less is always more," she said.

Was it even really a crime? I was on the short stairwell that connects the 11th—the top—floor of the Bendix Building, a Garment District block on the corner of Maple St and 12th St, when I spotted the square of white-patterned black cotton. Into my pocket it rapidly went, compensation for the fact that my quest for rooftop access had been stymied. An orange plastic sign across the door up ahead, warning (bluffing?) of alarms that would ring out if opened, dissuaded further progress. I wasn't too disheartened—my unplanned visit to the Bendix Building had yielded sufficient delights.

Last time I spoke a bit about Dave Marchant and the circumstances under which I first met him. Today I’ll go forward from that and talk a bit about Comic Con 2008 and my experiences there, one of which would involve my biggest celebrity introduction to date.
Upon arriving at the hotel in San Diego, Dave, Dolly and I took turns pushing Forry in the wheelchair down the hallway and into the elevator. We passed Stan Lee along the way; the grand old man of Marvel Comics was sitting with several friends in the foyer, holding court. Only a few seconds into the hotel and I was having a close encounter with someone honest-to-God famous! Our room was several floors up. Remember too, I had only left Kentucky a few weeks before…Comic Con, San Diego, the lavish accommodations and the promise of bona fide celebrities in the proximity were all really heady concepts.

This piece is written in honor of a true Forry fan and friend: David J. Marchant.
I first encountered Dave during the lead-up to the 2008 edition of Comic Con, which Forry was due to attend in San Diego. At that point I’d been living with him for only a few weeks and barely had time to settle into my new home, the Acker-mini-mansion. I did not have a car and couldn’t even drive. Neither could Dolly, Forry’s caretaker who’d also be along for the trip. Joe Moe had left La early to prepare his Red Velvet exhibit at the Con but made arrangements for a man named Dave Marchant, who to that point I’d never met, to drive Forry, Dolly and myself down to the event.
When the long-anticipated morning finally arrived, Dolly and I faced the arduous task of preparing Forry for his long car ride.

Long time no see kids. My bad. We're getting ready to kick off 31 Days of Horror again this year, obviously starting on October 1st. I'm going to use that as my excuse for taking some time away from the column, rather than just admitting I'm lazy. This week we're talking Red Velvet, which has very little to do with the delicious, buttery cake and more to do with quasi-experimental horror. This flick stars Henry Thomas, whose name you probably can't place - he was Elliot in E.T. and is about a weirdo named Aaron who is telling the made up macabre story about how Linda's friends were all killed by a pscyho murderer. But since this is a horror movie, you're probably wondering just how made up that story is. Kills We'll say that there are nine deaths in the film, though with the story telling aspect of it, we...

I can tell that Red Velvet director Bruce Dickson has a future ahead of him. His debut is a rather impeccably designed slasher tribute, headlined by some gorgeous cinematography and dynamic color scheming. And Henry Thomas (Yeah, the E.T. Henry Thomas). Thomas makes a lot of his character, but can’t quite fuel the movie on his own. Unfortunately, his costar, Kelli Garner, isn’t a dramatic equal and so their many, many scenes of discussion together often fall flat. Those sequences take up about half of the film, the other consisting of some of the most innovative and fun-loving slasher ingenuity I’ve had the pleasure of viewing. It’s this sort of 50/50 deal that makes the movie very highly recommended for aspiring filmmakers. Technically and, for the most part, artistically, Red Velvet deserves its rather impressive success and critical reception; but half of the film is bogged down...

My good friend Sean Fernald has produced a tongue-in-cheek horror movie starring Henry Thomas (yes, the kid from E.T., but give the guy a break -- he's nearly 40 and has worked steadily since his heyday as a child actor) as a misnathropic oddball who ropes his pretty neighbor (Kelli Garner) -- the one whose fights with her boyfriend keep him up all night -- into a game of "let's imagine the perfect slasher movie." It's available exclusively on Amazon for the next three months, and I can say without fear or favor that Red Velvet is a nifty little picture made by genre lovers, for genre lovers.T...

Rob Hunter loves movies. He also loves working as the owner of a Hank Moody's neighborhood liquor store. These two joys come together in the form of cash money payments that he receives every week and immediately uses to buy more DVDs. So join us each week as he takes a look at new DVD releases and gives his highly unqualified opinion as to which titles are worth BUYing, which are better off as RENTals, and which should be AVOIDed at all costs. A quick (and fairly obvious) disclaimer: The main purpose behind this column is to highlight the various new DVD releases each week. The division of the titles into Buy, Rent, or Avoid categories is based on many things... the quality of the movie or show, the quality of the extra features, and the replay value of the content overall. The common thread here is that all of these criteria are based on Hunter's opinion...

Finally, we take a breath, clear the cobwebs of mourning and peek out from beneath the shadows to find out how the late Forrest J Ackerman continues to do us good. At genre conventions from coast to coast, fans and friends pay tribute to the grand old man who made us monsters!
Ken-tucky? Yep, they Ken!
Any horror fan, young or old, who’s in it for the scare-making arts, crafts and monster makers, Must experience Wonderfest. I flew over the cool greenery and picturesque graveyards of Louisville, Kentucky to attend the first Con I’ve been to without Uncle Forry by my side. While most travelers rushed to the baggage claim to pick up luggage and trot off to watch horses run some derby, I was there for the monsters!
In its 20th year, Wonderfest is a gathering place for modelers. Make that “Super-modelers.” Builders, sculptors, painters, collectors, you name it!

IFC Films gave Fango an update on when a quartet of its horror titles will debut as Blockbuster exclusives and then become available for retail via Mpi. Look for The Objective (at Blockbuster July 14) to retail on October 27; Pontypool (Blockbuster Oct. 13) to retail February 10, 2010; Dead Snow (Blockbuster Oct. 20) to retail January 26, 2010; and Dark Mirror (no Blockbuster date as of yet) to retail March 2010.
Meanwhile, the two Blu-ray set of the complete theatrical cut of the Weinstein Company’s Grindhouse (which we previously reported on here) has now been shifted to a street date of December 31 by Wal-Mart, which appears to be the only retailer offering it at the moment. That’s the slot the company has also set for a three-dvd Grindhouse edition—but since that’s a Thursday, and discs usually street on Tuesdays, could that just be a default date? (A few years back, the Weinsteins announced a...

(Note: This story will be "stickied" at the top of our headlines for the day. Being able to host it is an honor beyond words.)
It was a Blood-Red-letter day for fandom as pros and fans alike gathered to bid a reluctant “Forry-well” to the late great genre-icon Forrest J. Ackerman! Hollywood’s historic Egyptian Theatre served as a temple for the filled-to-capacity ritual sponsored by the American Cinematheque, Profiles in History auction house and the Ackerman estate.
Guests began waiting on line at around 1:00Pm for the scheduled 3:00Pm reception. By 2:30 over 200 bodies had congregated at the doors of the theater. Inside, staff was scrambling. Pieces of Forry’s collection were being displayed (A first edition of Dracula signed by Bram Stoker and almost everyone who ever played the famous Vampire on screen, Bela Lugosi’s Dracula cape and Forry’s fave prop: the “Robotrix” from...

Issue #83
October 2008
Seems like just the other day my former editor contacted me about this new horror magazine from Canada who really wanted to start getting U.S. exposure called Rue Morgue. I agreed to check it out, even interviewed the editor-in-chief at the time, Rodrigo Gudino, and thus began a love affair with one of the coolest horror magazines ever produced.
Now Rue Morgue is turning 11 and to celebrate they’ve produced yet another massively amazing issue that’s about twice the size of their normal monthly output, but doesn’t compromise a single ounce of their usual badassness.
The focus for this issue is the 50th anniversary of Famous Monsters of Filmland, the horror magazine that started it all, and as usual the Rue crew threw their all into making sure every aspect of the magazine’s history is covered. To this end there's a huge interview with the mag’s founder,...
