Cute Story

I guess you could call this the opposite of a romance movie. Although it was entertaining, it was a bit long. It was not as exciting as I am use to out of a movie but still good quality's. I would say this would be a good family movie except for a few bad words. I recommend if you like comedies, I laughed a few times during this one. Also loved the cast, The dad reminded me of a less funny version of Steve Carell. He could totally be his stunt double!

Award winning!

Pressing play, I wasn't really expecting much from Breaking Them Up. Family movie about a teenage boy whose parents fight so much he's had enough. At school, he and his adoptable friend are talented love matchmakers. These two are presented with challenges, see opportunity and act upon it. .. Much to the benefit of their friends. But when the boy stages the plan to separate his parents, wanting to make his own life better, she is conflicted. And that's the core of the movie. What I was absolutely not expecting, yet amazingly surprised and gripped by, was the depth of feelings and connections expressed between each and all of these characters. The writing was fluid. Conversations were easy, natural, and enjoyable even when their content was difficult. Each scene had a purpose and I was always curious what would happen next? Watching our scope of freedom building, I was afraid of where I thought this might lead. I feel these choices could've been inspired by somebody's real life choices. In the end, satisfied and smiling, I feel I have a better understanding of other people's relationships, desires, and motivations. Few other shows have moved me like Breaking Them Up moved me.

Great movie, innocence of youth

Really enjoyed the paths taken to identify and present the complexities of relationships from the position of adolescent innocence.

A very enjoyable movie.

Surpasses it's description

I wasn't expecting a lot after reading the one sentence plot summary, so I was pleasantly surprised by the top to bottom craftsmanship behind the telling of this gentle, amusing and clear-eyed story. I would probably give this 8 stars, but I want to compensate a bit for the 1 star review that said little about the movie itself.

SelfCentric and EgoCentric Parenting

Breaking family bonding and following heart and personal enjoyment is not new phenomenon. This movie is totally unrealistic and made for 3%, who conceives thier child by accident and follow personal choices to make oneself happy. No devotion, sacrifice and make the choice which can retain the family. The writer and producers are promoting self centered human , ego centric parents and selfish parents, who doesn't care about the family and meaning of home.
