German martial arts actor Brandon Rhea suffered a dislocated shoulder during the filming of his fight scene with Carl Ng. Rhea completed the scene before being rushed to hospital.
Digger Mesch not only plays the character of Mendez, but also provided story board art for much of the film.
A scene where Yuri Ting and Mike Leeder drag Carl Ng into a car, was mistaken for a real fight by passersby who called the Police.
The film's assassin brothers Chad & Alex, played by Mark Strange and Nathan Lewis are named in homage to the very different "twin brothers" of Double Impact (1991). While "Double Impact" saw Jean-Claude Van Damme adopting different hairstyles and dress sense to play the twin brothers, "The Bodyguard A New Begining" takes it a little further by having two actors from different races play the non-identical twins.
