Not the greatest showcase of some of the comedians but I am not the type of person who finds it funny in saying the most crass thing for attention. To me you're just "trying" to be funny. But there is comedians in there that don't rely on that and are genuinely funny without screaming and yelling crass words so it is worth a watch.
Take 10 comedians put them in a room for 6 hours and see which one can hold back the laughter to win 100,000 Australian dollars! I've watched the first 2 episodes, I don't want to but I need you watch more, I have to find out who wins! Curious but strangely compelling watch!
I don't understand how anyone can find Anne Edmonds or Sam Simmons funny. At first the shock factor was hilarious but the more it went on it just became boring.
Anne and her loud obnoxious characters were just so...cringey. Like? How were the other comedians laughing? Cringe cringe cringe.
But in saying that I'd still watch a season two.
This show actually made me angry by how bad it was. Not funny at all. It was so cringe. Sam Simmons was the actual worst. This show was the worst. I'm going to stop listening to Hughsey and Ed in the arvos now, just because Ed's face annoyed me the whole time.
Let's never do this again, please.
The show is a brilliant way to expose us to the Australian comic scene. It is also a great insight into how difficult it is to be a performer and the fine line between one who is performing and one not. Sam Simmons and Ann Edmonds are hilarious as well as everybody else. 10 comedians in a room and each has their different act they have to be funny to each other and to the camera. Great show.
