Jean Valjean is basically a superhero already (he lifts a whole cart off a guy by himself at one point), and now he's getting the requisite origin story to boot. Anyone who's ever so much as breathed near a theater kid knows that the Les Misérables protagonist steals a loaf...

The origin story of Jean Valjean, the iconic protagonist of Victor Hugo’s masterpiece “Les Misérables,” is being brought to the bigscreen by Éric Besnard, the French director of 18th-century set movie “Delicieux.”
The movie, which just started filming on Jan. 14 amid the lush landscapes of Southern France, has been boarded by Federations Studios’ sales label Ginger & Fed spearheaded by Sabine Chemaly. The project is being teased to buyers at the Unifrance Rendez-Vous in Paris which kicked off on Monday (Jan. 13).
“Valjean” reteams Besnard with French actor Gregory Gadebois who starred in his previous film, the 19th-century set movie “Louise Violet.” Gadebois stars as Valjean, opposite Bernard Campan, Isabelle Carré and Alexandra Lamy.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was a remarkable anime adaptation of Cyberpunk 2077, and Studio Trigger did its absolute best to make it possible. Renowned for their work on anime like Kill La Kill and Delicious in Dungeon, Studio Trigger garnered great praise for their dedication to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The process behind the anime was a collaboration project between the game developers and the anime staff, as explained by the associate game director Pawel Sasko.

Anime is a growing industry that continues to improve every year, attracting more fans worldwide. As the number of fans increases, so does the quality of shows, including Dandadan and Delicious in Dungeon. However, like most media, one or two genres stick out as the most popular. More often than not, the action genre delivers intense thrills and epic fights and draws a massive crowd looking for excitement.

A new report has revealed that Crunchyroll, the anime streaming giant owned by Sony, made a deliberate decision to limit the promotion of Dandadan, a popular anime title from Toho.
The decision was communicated in an internal email by Markus Gerdemann, Crunchyroll’s senior vice president of marketing, who has faced criticism over his management style and strategic decisions.
In October, Gerdemann sent an email to Crunchyroll staff instructing them not to “further lean into the promotion of Dandadan,” citing ongoing acquisition discussions.
This move raised eyebrows within the company and among industry observers, particularly as the show debuted as the second-most-viewed non-English title on Netflix.
Despite its strong performance on a competing platform, Crunchyroll’s apparent sidelining of the series has drawn criticism for potentially undermining its relationship with Toho and the broader anime community.

Amidst monsters and mayhem, Delicious in Dungeon offers a fresh take on the adventure genre. From its visuals to storyline, it’s anything but a bog-standard series. This holds true with the compelling storyline and light-hearted themes. What’s interesting is that the manga doesn’t try hard to be extraordinary. Even the author vouches for this in terms of the characters.

In an interview, Ryoko Kui revealed the ordinary nature of the protagonist. While most readers speculate their theories regarding his behaviour, it is quite opposite. In her revelation she also highlights the importance of food as an underlying theme in the series.

Delicious in Dungeon may instantly remind readers of Dungeons and Dragons due to the obvious name. It, however, isn’t the case with this series because of its fresh storyline.

With its recent first season, Dungeon Meshi, or Delicious in Dungeon has become a buzzing topic in the anime and manga industry. Created by Ryōko Kui, this unique series has left fans craving more — both in terms of its culinary adventures and its complex character relationships. However, when it comes to writing the story, Kui-sensei restrains herself from overtly depending on fans’ feedback.

The crossover appeal between Dungeons & Dragons and anime is undeniable, each synonymous with epic adventures, powerful bonds between friends and rivals, and meticulous world-building. Since Dungeons & Dragons is a time-consuming hobby and most well-known anime offerings tend to be long-running series, knowing how and where to get started can be a daunting task for D&d players looking to dive into the genre.
Anime, however, doesn’t just offer its audiences a diverse range of rich universes and immersive storytelling but a potential wellspring of inspiration, particularly for D&d players. Both players and Dungeon Masters hunting for a creative spark have a whole world awaiting them filled with fully realized fantasy-tinged anime that can encourage a newfound love for the genre.

Delicious in Dungeon stands out from isekai anime by having in-depth worldbuilding in the science behind its monsters and political elements. Delicious in Dungeon also avoids many of the video game-themed tropes that have become cliché in isekai, instead being inspired by TTRPGs. Delicious in Dungeon's success is a sign of fantasy anime slowly moving away from the isekai genre, and that fantasy anime don't need the reincarnation hook to be successful.

There are bad movies that are just bad -- they are just uninteresting or broken (with boom mics dropping into the frame like The Howling VI), and then there are bad movies that are so bad, they are hilarious, like Troll 2, Demon Wind, and The Room. Today, we have just such a movie. An Italian zombie film like you have never seen before, that Severin is releasing in 4K for the first time in an absurd bundle with a disastrously hideous pillow case that makes us kind of want to order two copies for a matching pair for the guest bed. The movie is Burial Ground. Also known as The Nights of Terror, because any real bad Italian horror movie has more than one title.
Burial Ground is about three couples who drive into the country to stay at a baroque Italian villa, violate the moral rules of the horror genre,...

There is a lot to like in Netflix’s Chinese film, Delicious Romance. It thrives on a good blend of emotions, using filmmaking techniques innovatively to bring out the complexities of the characters. It looks at modern relationships from the perspective of three childhood friends who are now working and struggling in their professional lives while trying to make sense of their relationships with each other and with the world. The film comes alive right from the first scene, setting the stage for a promising ride with the three women. It is remarkable to tell a story of multiple characters while managing to go into the depths of their hearts and minds to bring out the nuances and, on top of that, keep it all together with a tightly-knit screenplay. It is filled with frames that are revealing in their representation and actions that widely reflect characters’ emotional states. We...

Cuphead’s Dlc, the Delicious Last Course, is a hearty meal full of new bosses, challenges, and achievements. While most of these digital trophies are self-explanatory, one of those unlocks is already making gamers scratch their heads.
Mind you, it’s easy to understand all the confusion. After all, the elusive Paladin achievement in Cuphead simply reads: “Obtain great power.” That’s not exactly the most helpful of descriptions. Sure, that “explanation” implies that unlocking the achievement is no easy task, but unlike other achievements, the description doesn’t provide any actual instructions. How does one go about obtaining “great power” in the Delicious Last Course? After some digging, we have uncovered the path gamers need to traverse to unlock this achievement.

Yes, if you thought that the Delicious Last Course would somehow take things easy on you after everything Cuphead put you through, you’re sadly mistaken. If anything, the difficulty level of the average Dlc boss is roughly equal to the difficulty level of the absolute toughest bosses in the base game. Some even set a new standard for how challenging a Cuphead boss can be.

To the casual observer, there’s nothing remarkable about Sylvia. An intelligent, confident woman, Sylvia tends to keep quiet about her formidable linguistic abilities, impressive knowledge of weaponry, and skills as a markswoman.
Questions about her professional life are met with bland answers about an unspectacular career in the Civil Service, which is only very slightly true – because until recently, Sylvia was a high-ranking British spy.
That's the official logline of Acorn TV's Signora Volpe, starring Emilia Fox as Sylvia. We had a chance to chat with her about making the show.
As much as I love to watch international programming, I only get bits and pieces of everything out there. You don't make it easy. You have one of the busiest schedules I've ever seen.
Who? Me?
Yes.

Signora Volpe is poised to be another breakout hit for Acorn TV.
The streaming service today revealed the official trailer and premiere date for the three-part detective drama series starring Emilia Fox.
The series was filmed on location in the stunning Lazio and Umbria regions in Italy, and will make its debut Monday, May 2, on Acorn TV, AMC Networks’ acclaimed streamer devoted to British and international television.
Episodes will continue to debut on Mondays through May 16.

"Questions about her professional life are met with bland answers about an unspectacular career in the Civil Service."
"Which is only very slightly true – because until recently, Sylvia was a high-ranking British spy.
