This score is higher than all three installments of the Terrifier movie trilogy, which has become very popular with horror fans in recent years. After a rough few years in the broadcast landscape, the 2024-25 season has brought in some rays of hope.
To be sure, the long-term structural challenges for network TV remain in a world where streaming is the default platform for the largest share of viewers and ongoing corporate consolidation continues to shrink the number of potential suppliers (and buyers) of shows. But several network shows have achieved breakout status in the past year, and each of the big four broadcasters (ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC) can claim at least one success story among their crop of first-year series. The fact that networks are also the primary suppliers of the long-running, deep-library shows that keep streaming services humming also seems to have sunk in across the industry.

The Roku Channel has picked up the Canadian streaming comedy Bria Mack Gets a Life for North America, the U.K. and Mexico.
The licensing deal is for the six-part series that follows Bria McFarlane, played by Malaika Hennie-Hamadi, as a 25-year-old black woman navigating adulthood in a predominantly white world. That’s made all the more difficult, yet more tolerable, by Black Attack (Hannan Younis) being her invisible hype girl.
As Bria balances being the most educated family member and her overdue credit card bill, Black Attack expresses her inner thoughts that reveal who Bria wants to be, but doesn’t believe she’s allowed to. And just as Bria moves back home and her mother looks to retire, she has to assemble her life — friends, dating, a place to live, and most importantly, a job to fund it all — before time runs out.

Canadians are a polite, funny bunch, by and large, so it's somewhat surprising that sitcoms made in the Great White North rarely make waves across the border. Of course, shows like the 1970s one-off The Trouble with Tracy would make a strong argument for why that was the case (don't go looking for it... you've been warned). That has since turned around, with series like Workin' Moms and the critically acclaimed Schitt's Creek finding success in the U.S. One of the more recent Canadian sitcoms to tread American waters is the wholesome(ish) Son of a Critch, the top-rated scripted sitcom on the CW for 2023-24. It's a rating the sitcom has definitely earned, given its status as one of a handful of sitcoms to score 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Sports, Christmas content, and reruns. That’s what we have in store on broadcast TV right now. That’s especially the case for broadcast TV tonight, Friday, Dec. 20.
It’s Friday, but the CBS dramas are taking a break. In fact, we have some bad news when it comes to Blue Bloods, as the show aired its series finale last Friday. Swat and Fire Country will be back in January, but now it’s time for CBS to air its holiday programming.
National Christmas Tree Lighting, College Basketball, and more
CBS will kick off its holiday programming in style. The network will start with the National Christmas Tree Lighting, which is a favorite event for many, with plenty of songs being played. Adam Blackstone, Stephen Sanchez, and James Taylor are among those singing some holiday favorites throughout the hour.
After that, it’s time for Josh Groban & Friends Go Home for the Holidays.

Last Friday, there was a lot of focus on reruns and holiday programming. It’s time to get back to somewhat normalcy in the TV schedule tonight, Friday, Dec. 6.
We are hitting the winter period. A lot of shows are taking time off, and Fridays are already a quiet night across most networks. The good news is that CBS is back to normal with its schedule, and we have plenty of comedy to check out on The CW. If you’re into sports, the Big 5 networks also have you covered. Get ready for a great night of TV.
Blue Bloods, Bob Hearts Abishola, and more
Friday nights are all about CBS dramas. These shows are what we mostly tune into TV on a Friday for, right? Well, after taking Black Friday off, the shows are back on. We have two more episodes of all three shows—and two episodes left of all of Blue Bloods.

If you’re hoping for something to watch on broadcast TV tonight, Friday, Nov. 29, you may be out of luck. It’s mostly all about the sports. However, there is some fun news for Blue Bloods fans.
It’s Black Friday. We all know that means people are out shopping. Or they’re sleeping off the Thanksgiving fun from the day before. This is a day to relax and spend time with family, so most people probably aren’t watching live TV. It makes sense for the broadcast networks to take a night off the regular programming tonight.
Blue Bloods special and college sports
Three of the Big 5 networks have college football to watch. CBS and The CW are the exceptions, with CBS opting for a night dedicated to Blue Bloods. With the series finale just around the corner, this makes a lot of sense.
