They have possibly picked the worst and lamest, story of SGT Rock
I remember reading the comics as a kid. Some of the stories were aquatically quite good. This one however was not.
SGT Rock. Team up with the wolf man,a vampire and Frankenstein ..C'mon. dc give us something batter
Pure trash. No plot and nothing just a short film with no clue . Literally feeling bad to waste my time for this.
You have to watch it guys... if this were a movie I watch it right now... this needs to become a movie
Like the title said, this short is a pretty good introduction into Sgt. Rock and The Creature Commandos.
I decided to watch this just before watching The Creature Commandos show, and without reading many of the comics, it does a good job at showing Rock's rocky (HA) exterior to his team (not the commandos but his soldier buddies, "The Easy Company").
Although the Creator Commandos don't have much characterising. Besides Sgt. Vincent, the rest don't really speak, and it doesn't help that they only got three monsters for the CREATURE Commandos. Especially wanted more from Frank, but I did like how he seemed horrified by seeing the Easy Company being turned into mindless versions of himself, but that's pretty much all he got besides having pretty good fight scenes.
But honestly, all of that is alright because this was just made to "showcase" Rock and The Commandos to hopefully get people to look into them, and I have to say it worked. I should pick up some of their comics when I can.

I remember reading some Sgt. Rock comic books back in my childhood, though I can't recall the storylines. I just remember the name and it being a World War II comic. And then here in 2022, I stumble upon the 2019 DC animated short feature titled "DC Showcase: Sgt. Rock". Of course I had to give it a view.
Running at just 15 minutes, the storyline does not really have all that much to offer. Sure, it was a fun 15 minutes of warfare, monsters and good old fashioned fun. So if you have the chance to sit down to watch "DC Showcase: Sgt. Rock", from writers Tim Sheridan, Louise Simonson and Walter Simonson, then do so. In 15 minutes you can only do so much, but the storyline was actually enjoyable for what it turned out to be, as it was World War II combined with traditional movie monsters.
How true "DC Showcase: Sgt. Rock" is to the comic book is not something I am qualified to tell you. I just downright don't know. But this 2019 animated short feature certainly was enjoyable enough.
The animation and art style is good, and definitely suited me, as it felt like something from 1980s, say like "G. I. Joe" for example.
My rating of "DC Showcase: Sgt. Rock", from director Bruce Timm, lands on a six out of ten stars.
