After 3 episodes we unfortunately fell off this show. We liked the first episode and the show is filled with a lot of talented actresses, the second episode was brilliantly acted but not that convincing in regards of pacing and script and already boringly sex focussed. With the third episode it really delves into mommy porn territory and we really failed to see the depth and were really bored.
I am sure there will be some great parts in the rest of the episodes but we are too old and ununterested in drawn out and rather explicit sex scenes.
It is great to see Gilpin being given material to really work with but i guess a show about the sexual lifestyle of 3 US women is just not our cup of tea.

... how can you not watch this show... Shailene Woodley and Betty Gilpin.. either would be enough, but both of them... GLOW had me falling in love with Betty Gilpin, and it probably is not one of her best known appearances, but Endings, Beginnings was all pure alluring Shailene
... way too early to say much about how good or not Three Women will be, but I'd not be saying much against these two... Showtime had the series and decided not to proceed with it, handing it over to Starz... thanks for that
... slated for ten episodes, so there's going to be time to get deeper into character development.. really looking forward to seeing what this production will be offering
... 01.22.24 - near one out of six raters (still very small sample have voted so far) give it a '1'... that's scorn for reasons other than the quality of the work... this is a very-good-production, builds story-line-character-development throughout... acting's-outrageously-solid... will for sure be watched again & again... a-solid-'9'

It's so boring and unoriginal.
The narration adds nothing. In fact, it distances the viewer from the story, constantly reminding you that it's just a collection of representations rather than someone's story you can truly immerse yourself in.
Also, I've noticed, as a woman, that when a film or series is about women, for women (in this case, based on a book by a female author who also wrote the screenplay), women automatically seem to like it. As if supporting women is confused with blind, uncritical praise.
But the series is weak, derivative, unoriginal, and very boring.
And why those erotic scenes have to be so long, it's sooo boring and brings nothing.

Interesting - slow at the beginning - favourite character is Lina.followed by Sloane - Gia is just all over the place , Maggie is young and foolish and trying to regain her self respect. The male characters in this seem very much secondary at least it would seem so at the beginning , but okay a very real role moving forward. If you can get over the first few or so episodes you will invest in the rest of the show.. this is. It something I would usually watch, but it intrigued me from what others were saying and talking about. In parts it's quite raw, emotional, sexual, bouncing from hot to cold.
A series about women, for women, and which I understand is supposed to have some kind of feminist perspective. How could they have missed something as basic as the fact that none of the many long sex scenes contain anything other than penetration? The men in the series act like teenagers in the bed.
Complete absence of caresses, hands and tongue. Are the creators familiar with something called the clitoris?
Otherwise, its an ok show but nothing rememberable. It feels slow and i find the storyline about the writer booring. Linas character and storyline is the only one which feels more interesting.

- TriviaIt is speculated that the reason behind Showtime's decision to drop airing the series was concerns regarding its graphic sexual content, as the network was going through a content re-evaluation by its parent company Paramount at the time. In February 2023, Starz bought the rights to the series from Showtime and ended up airing the show on September 2024.
