One day we will talk about this movie

First thing first, I really tried to understand the hatreds towards this movie. It could be because of its hype, thus people putting the bar very high. Other than that, I am pretty sure you will not hate the movie.

Technical aspects are great! You can notice some beautiful shots, mesmerized by the colors, perfect music, duration is okay.

Additionally, I think we have to give special credit to its characters. Yes plot is solid (I am saying solid because it is not extraordinary), acting is also great. However, one of the reasons why the characters are perfect relies on the beauty of its dialogue. This is one thing that you need to know before watching the movie. Please take a good attention when there are some important dialogues. That way, you will then understand, this movie is sooo simple but also deep enough to touch your soul.

I believe this movie will relate to many of us in our 20s, the very first moments we are facing a lot of serious problems. If you are having difficult times in your life right now, especially relating to family issues, this movie might be the perfect cure for you.

Worth to watch

What do you expect of drama movie? A deep conflict that leads to some heroic action? If it so, this movie clearly not for you. The plot is so simple but has very good message for us. The cinematography and acting also good. Really worth to watch with the family.

What's the hype?

I don't know why this movie is so hype. It's just like an ordinary drama well, it's like television soap. That's it, nothing special and soo boring..

An Honest Emotional Portrait of a Modern Family

Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini (One Day We'll Talk About Today) is one of those rare Indonesian films that manage to touch the audience's heart in a subtle yet deeply affecting way. Directed by Angga Dwimas Sasongko, the movie tells a story of a seemingly perfect family that quietly harbors secrets and unresolved wounds beneath the surface. I give this film a solid 10/10 for its emotional strength, beautifully crafted script, and remarkably natural performances.

What stands out the most is how each character is given enough space to grow. The film allows us to get to know the personal conflicts of every family member without resorting to over-the-top drama. Everything feels authentic, as if we're witnessing the lives of people we actually know - perhaps even our own family.

The visual composition of the film is stunning. Every shot is carefully framed to enhance the emotional weight of each scene. Warm colors, thoughtful room compositions, and clever use of lighting all create a genuine, intimate atmosphere that draws viewers into the characters' world.

Equally impressive is the film's soundtrack and scoring. The music, especially the collaboration with indie band Hindia, feels like the characters' inner voices, seamlessly amplifying each emotional moment. It's the kind of score that not only accompanies the story but also becomes part of its soul.

The cast - Rachel Amanda, Rio Dewanto, Sheila Dara, and Donny Damara - deliver deeply convincing performances. Their portrayals feel genuine, understated, and entirely relatable. It's not an act you're watching, but people living their complicated, tender lives.

The movie powerfully explores themes of family, hidden trauma, and the courage it takes to be honest with ourselves and with those we love. The message is timeless and relevant in today's world, where people often hide their true feelings behind a facade of being "fine." Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini gently reminds us to face our past, embrace our flaws, and cherish the strength we can find in each other.

In conclusion, this film isn't just a story - it's an experience. It invites viewers to reflect on their own family ties, emotional baggage, and the beauty of forgiveness. With its heartfelt story, stunning visuals, perfectly chosen soundtrack, and honest performances, it unquestionably deserves a 10/10.

Too overated

This movie really hype back in Indonesia, yet it's too overated. Honestly, i was expecting more considering the writer and the casts. Unfortunately it's just usual family drama, not even dramatic, the conflict is very shallow, plot very slow with anti climacs.
