Definitely Not A Monster is a captivating short film that masterfully explores grief, reputation, and the power of storytelling. Brea Angelo's direction and the exceptional performances make this a must-see. The short offers a unique perspective on the aftermath of a scandal, focusing on the widow of a beloved icon accused of rape. The exploration of storytelling's power is thought-provoking and disturbing.

It's not easy to make two characters sitting across from one another talking engaging, but wow. The story builds to crescendo where you can see a person's reality unravel in real time. This is a great film on a number of levels: the filmmaking, the performances, and the sensitivity with which such traumatic subject matter is explored. I would love to see the next installment of this story because the only thing more dramatic than watching a character face their fears (or not) is seeing what they next. Highly recommend this film to anyone who loves a good psychological thriller or well-executed character study, because this is both!
