Hiljaisten palvelijat

Absurd and weird - with splatter. If you are after realism and facts, forget this. But if you want something that certainly can disturb you and even make you feel a bit uncomfortable then this might be something for you. Without any warning you may find yourself laughing to things that aren't normally laughable.

The episodes are short and there are only five of them which makes this small series a nice watch for some dark evening (see evil grin here). Notice that this is not a big production but something small from Finnish Broadcasting Company (Yle) - but considering that the effects were quite okay and most importantly, they managed to transfer the needed feelings quite well. Nice views from Helsinki, too.

Far from perfect, but a surprise.

Even genre like horror and drama, this is quite fun show! I loved the black humor that doesn't take the spotlight of all disturbing details in this serie.

Music of the show and scenes in dark, urban Helsinki make them even more powerful. Unfortunately the plot is quite typical for Finnish drama and crime series: it goes very slowly forward, and if you don't appreciate all other elements (music, filming scnes etc), you could be easily bored. Still wouldn't say this is somehow foreseeable! Serie also contains paranormal elements.

I have watched Season 1 couple of times now and would love to see more because it ends like there something more coming.
