My Favorite Shapes by Julio Torres

I loved this show! Subtle, dry humor. Eccentric and sometimes very touching. Has the qualities of imagination sorely lacking in much of today's in-your-face humor. I felt as if I were being invited into a new and magical world, and I hated to see it end. Obviously, from other reviews here, this is not everyone's cup of tea. But I loved it! If you enjoy thinking of things in a whole new way, welcome aboard!

Julio is a writing genie. He makes the most arbitrary subject content change into some absurd nonsense that some how is rationalized. They jokes were unpredictable and fun!

He has a Demitri Martin and Fred Armisen vibe and remains completely original.

This is the dumbest comedy show I've EVER seen. Watching it is like being on candid camera-it looks like a legit comedy special, but you just can't believe it's real and think someone is messing with you.

I don't know how Torres has managed to capture the imagination of a couple of critics (and then they all jump on the bandwagon of "he's a comedic genius!"), but it's truly mind boggling. Absolutely nothing special, unique, clever, or scintillating about his comedy in this special or in Problemista (I gave him a second chance by watching the latter. Tilda, what were you thinking?) Do not waste your time watching My Dumbest Shapes.

Gave it about fifteen minutes, but it was awful. Fast forwarded another ten minutes and watched a bit, but it was still awful. Fast forward another ten, and then another ten, and then just shut it off. In the twenty five to thirty minutes I gave this hour long program, I didn't have a single laugh. This was quite probably the worst comedy special I have ever tried to watch. It just wasn't funny in any way.

I've seen surrealist humour and this isn't it! Just being so stupid and weird behind comprehension doesn't make it surreal, a lot of that genre are often more clever and engaging when you get over the cooky presentation, might boosh being a classic.

Everything in this was rotten, I think a couple made me smirk did the sheer stupidness that this somehow is on demand on sky in the uk alongside actual comedians, I'm aware he has done other stuff, I'm just going off this, which sucked, he's the type of act todays people will support despite being awful as that's what culture is now, patronising certain demographics to look accepting and open minded.

The fake audience or laugh track were too obvious aswell. As a one off joke, bits could work but not on tv, definitely not as an hour long special. Garbage.
