Once upon a time, Taylor Sheridan had a different role in mind for Darren Mann in the Yellowstone-verse.
Before he ever made it to cowboy camp to prepare for the role ofJack Dutton, Mann was actually considered for the role of the swashbuckling Spencer, played by Brandon Sklenar.
“All my auditions were for Spencer,” recalls Mann to Deadline. “I never read for Jack. I did something like four self-tapes, I believe, and then eventually I got a phone call saying, ‘okay, you’ve got five new scenes and you’ve got to go to Wyoming in 30 hours or something like that and you’re going to screen test for Spencer.”
“I went there, had the screen test, it went great. I was feeling pretty good about it but I wasn’t sure,” Mann continues. “And then I got a call maybe 30, 45 minutes later saying, ‘we want to offer you the...

There are many things to revere about the phenomenon that changed television forever, The Sopranos. It is one of the most memorable shows in history for so many reasons. Whether it's characters like Tony Soprano, Paulie Walnuts or Silvio Dante, the clothes, the cultural accuracy or the shocking moments, The Sopranos will remain a talking point until the end of time. While some elements of the show are more iconic than others, the myriad of quotes and one-liners continue to stand out most.
In social situations, fans will quote some of their favorite lines from The Sopranos, but they're usually some of the more well-known sayings, like "Whatever happened to Gary Cooper" or "You're only as good as your last envelope." However, diehard fans will recall some of the more unique quotes like "Fear knocked on the door, faith answered, there was no one there." Each one-liner is as equally distinct as the next,...

HBO's hit crime-drama The Sopranosincludes plenty of iconic quotes and scenes that have maintained the show's popularity and influence for over two decades since its debut. However, one of its most recognizable details is a running gag featuring series lead Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) repeatedly turning to his favorite meat snack called "gabagool." If Tony was in the kitchen, fans could usually count on him going to the fridge to grab some, making the habit a memorable aspect of the famous character.
Despite gabagool's popularity and the comedic value it adds to many scenes, audiences without an Italian-American or East Coast background may not know what exactly it is. Additionally, many viewers simply found it fun to say and then ran with it without coming to realize its underlying significance in Tony's life — as a child and the gangster he became. Here's an in-depth analysis of gabagool, its relatives in the meat industry,...

August 1969 was a very Creedence month. But so were most months back then. Creedence Clearwater Revival, the most popular band in America, were riding the hot streak of all hot streaks, cranking out swamp-rock classics at a crazy pace. John Fogerty and his Northern California crew released their masterpiece Green River in the first week of August, a few months after their masterpiece Bayou Country and a couple of months before their October masterpiece Willy and the Poor Boys. Their Top 40 hits that year: “Proud Mary,” “Bad Moon Rising,” “Fortunate Son,...

Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't have many time-limited quests, but the few that are included pose disastrous consequences for taking too long. The rare timed quest "Fortunate Son" can lead to losing a character permanently if it's not completed almost immediately, adding urgency players may not expect. Saving Scooter in "Fortunate Son" unlocks a touching scene and exclusive song, making it worth prioritizing for impact.
Taking too long to complete one Cyberpunk 2077 mission could lead to the permanent loss of a recurring character. For all its open-world interactivity, Cyberpunk doesn't actually have many timed quests or world events. For the most part, players can complete all its main and side jobs in whatever order they wish. But it is possible to lock oneself out of certain content, either by doing certain quests in the wrong order, or by making the wrong Cyberpunk story choices at important moments.

Captain Archer defended Nausicaans in "Fortunate Son" to prevent a conflict and save the Fortunate Son and its crew. Jean-Luc Picard was stabbed by Nausicaans and needed an artificial heart in "Samaritan Snare" and "Tapestry." Picard's artificial heart no longer matters as he now has a synthetic and positronic body in Star Trek: Picard seasons 2 and 3.
Star Trek: Enterprise's Captain Jonathan Archer (Scott Bakula) actually defended the same aliens who stabbed Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) though the heart in Star Trek: The Next Generation. About 200 years separate the pioneering 22nd-century voyages of Captain Archer's Nx-01 Enterprise and the 24th-century explorations of Captain Jean-Luc Picard's USS Enterprise-d. But one thing both Captains of the Enterprise have in common is encountering the Nausicaans, only with very different results.
In Star Trek: Enterprise season 1, episode 10, "Fortunate Son," Captain Archer's Nx-01 is diverted to help the Ecs Fortunate Son, a cargo ship that was raided by Nausicaan pirates.

Sumerian has acquired the North American rights to brutal coming-of-age story “Mascot,” which had its world premiere in January at Slamdance, and its international premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam the same month.
Sumerian is planning a limited theatrical release this year under the English title “Fortunate Son.” The pickup marks the second acquisition for Sumerian’s new film and streaming division, which launched this year.
Sumerian founder Ash Avildsen said the film is “a dark, brutally authentic and beautifully shot independent film centered around troubled youth in unorthodox households. It will undoubtedly strike a nerve with audiences who appreciate gritty arthouse drama, as it did with me.”

Screenwriter Kurt Wimmer cooks pure popcorn. More accurately, in his own words, he builds powder kegs. He fills barrels with gunpowder, he lights the match, and then lets it all blow on the page. It's a formula that's led to Wimmer writing or co-writing hits such as "The Thomas Crown Affair" remake, "Salt," "Law Abiding Citizen," and "Street Kings."
As for his directing credits, he's the man behind gun kata in the cult action favorite, "Equilibrium." Following the 2006 release of his second directorial effort, "Ultraviolet," he committed full-time to writing, but he returned to the director's chair for a remake of "Children of the Corn." For Wimmer, that decision had little to do with the original Stephen King story or past adaptations.
"Children of the Corn" isn't Wimmer's only new project. He created a YouTube channel showing him writing a new spec script, "Fortunate Son." Recently, we talked to Wimmer about "Children of the Corn,...

The critical burst of momentum began last month, with Donald Trump and Tucker Carlson gossiping about a prominent Republican’s penis. It has climaxed, for now, with one the most egregiously zealous converts to the cult of authoritarian Trumpism finally on the inside track to securing a seat in the United States Senate.
J.D. Vance won Ohio’s Republican primary for Senate on Tuesday, riding Trump’s home-stretch endorsement to best fellow Maga devotee Josh Mandel and state Sen. Matt Dolan, who ran a more traditional conservative campaign while Vance...

Exclusive: Production is underway on a concert documentary about legendary rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival, built around one-of-a-kind performance footage of Ccr that sat in a London vault for five decades.
Academy Award-winning actor Jeff Bridges will narrate Travelin’ Band: Creedence Clearwater Revival at the Royal Albert Hall, a production of Craft Recordings, Concord Originals and Marathan Films. Bob Smeaton, the filmmaker behind Grammy-winning documentaries on The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix, is directing the Creedence doc.

John Fogerty is no fan of President Donald Trump; the former Creedence Clearwater Revival leader even issued a cease-and-desist order (promptly ignored) this fall when “Fortunate Son” was cranked during Trump rallies. John Fogerty says that Donald Trump’s use of his song Fortunate Son at campaign rallies is “confounding, to say the least,” given that the lyrics to the song were inspired by rich people who were able to avoid the draft during the Vietnam war.
When the song was played at Trump’s rally in Michigan on Thursday, a number of journalists tweeted that it didn’t appear that the campaign grasped the meaning of the lyrics.
In an Instagram post, Fogerty said that he wrote the song in 1969, at the height of the Vietnam war, when he had already been drafted and had served in the military.
He said that the “inspiration for the song” was the disparity in those who were drafted and those who were getting deferments. “Back in those days we still had a draft, and something I was very upset about was the fact that people of privilege,...

Canada’s Lark Productions has acquired the exclusive television rights to Image Comics’ sci-fi graphic novel series “Descender,” and its sequel “Ascender,” created by New York Times bestselling author Jeff Lemire (“Black Hammer”) and artist Dustin Nguyen (“Batman: Streets of Gotham”).
“Fortunate Son” producer Lark, which is part of NBCUniversal International Studios, will develop and produce the series.
“Descender” was launched in 2015 and 32 graphic novels were published through 2018. It follows Tim-21, a companion robot who is thrust into a hostile cosmos when he discovers that he’s the missing link between a fleet of life-annihilating constructs and modern robotics. In 2016, Nguyen won the Eisner for best painter/multi-media artist for the series.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “Rest in Pieces,” the eighth episode of “American Horror Story: 1984.”

But because they were talking about such dark things in a public place, it didn’t take long for a motor-mouth reporter named Stacy to wander up to them. John Fogerty celebrated the 50th anniversary of Woodstock this year by playing a series of special gigs packed with songs from the original 1969 festival. Many were by Creedence Clearwater Revival, but he also covered tunes by fellow Woodstock vets Joe Cocker, Jimi Hendrix and Sly & The Family Stone. Throughout the show, he’d even have friends and members of his family dance around the venue in full hippie regalia as psychedelic colors filled the stage.

Creedence Clearwater Revival's performance wasn't part of the Woodstock live album or film but John Fogerty sings its praises.
Lead singers in rock groups all have good voices. John Fogerty has a sound. It's a swampy rasp that tells the history of rock and roll with every passing note. His voice he gave to a generation. "Down On the Corner" and "Up Around the Bend" were happy signposts. "Fortunate Son" and "Run through the Jungle" were working man's anthems for peace and equality. "Who’ll Stop the Rain" encapsulated the experience of a three-day summer music festival which never stops jamming. Celebrating 50 years since Creedence Clearwater Revival played at Woodstock, Fathom Events will project the new concert film John Fogerty – 50 Year Trip: Live at Red Rocks at cinemas nationwide.
The show was recorded at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, on June 20, 2019, as part of Fogerty’s nationwide “My 50 Year Trip” tour.
