Taylor Swift entered the record books as the Billboard Music Awards‘ most decorated artist, adding 10 trophies at the 2024 awards and upping her career total to 49. Taylor Swift was named the Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Hot 100 Songwriter, Top Streaming Songs Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist, Top Billboard Global 200 Artist, Top Billboard Global (Excl. U.S.) Artist, and Top Billboard 200 Album winner during the awards show held on December 12th and hosted by Michelle Buteau.

“It means the world to me that you guys have embraced the things I have made…this is the nicest early birthday present you could have given me…it’s exactly what I wanted,” stated Swift.

The metrics are in, and the 31st Billboard Music Awards has honored the year’s most listened-to artists, albums, songs, producers and songwriters.

Making history with most career wins at 49 total, Taylor Swift swept Thursday’s awards show with 10 wins, including Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artist and Top Billboard 200 album for The Tortured Poets Department.

Zach Bryan followed with five wins, and Morgan Wallen won four categories. Shaboozey, Bad Bunny, Drake and Elevation Worship each won three awards.

Meanwhile, Chappell Roan was crowned Top New Artist, and fans officially declared Beyoncé as Top Female Country Artist after her album debut in the genre with Cowboy Carter.

Thursday’s BBMAs were hosted by Michelle Buteau, featuring awards celebrations around the world and performances by Coldplay, Fuerza Regida, Jelly Roll, Megan Moroney, Seventeen, Shaboozey, Stray Kids, Teddy Swims and Tyla.

You could easily rename the Billboard Music Awards the Taylor Swift Awards: The pop star has become the most decorated artist in the show’s history, breaking her tie with fellow chart-topper Drake.

Swift won 10 awards on Wednesday night, including top artist and top Billboard 200 album for The Tortured Poets Department. She walked into the event with 17 nominations.

“This is the nicest early birthday present you could have given me,” Swift, who turns 35 on Friday, said in a taped speech. “It’s exactly what I wanted.”

Her other wins included top female artist, top Hot 100 artist and top Hot 100 songwriter. Earlier this year, Swift set a record at the Grammys when she collected her fourth album of the year trophy. Beyoncé absolutely dominated the list of 67th Annual Grammy Awards nominees, earning 11 nominations including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best Country Album. Charli xcx, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, and Post Malone each scored seven nominations, with Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, and Sabrina Carpenter picking up six.

Country music’s biggest night will be without one of the world’s biggest celebrities.

And the world is in shock as a result.

On Monday, September 6, the Country Music Association revealed the full list of nominees for the 58th Annual CMA Awards… with Morgan Wallen leading the pack with seven total nods.

As for Beyonce? She received not a single one.

The shut-out is galling and surprising because Beyonce took a critically-acclaimed leap by releasing her first-ever country music album a short time ago.

It debuted atop the charts.

Back in March, the superstar explained the inspiration behind “Cowboy Carter” by saying project was “born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed.

The 58th Annual CMA Awards broadcasts live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena Wednesday, November 20 starting 8 p.m. Et on ABC and next day on Hulu.

The nominees were determined by eligible voting CMA members comprised of professionals within the country music industry.

Morgan Wallen leads with seven nominations, while other top nominees include Cody Johnson and Chris Stapleton with five nominations, and Post Malone and Lainey Wilson with four nominations each.

Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter, which made history after it spent four weeks on top of Billboard’s Top country albums chart, making her the first Black woman to achieve the feat, has been notably shut out of the ceremony’s nominations, despite qualifying for categories like single of the year, song of the year, album of the year, female vocalist of the year and music event of the year.

The nominations have been announced for the 2024 CMA Awards and this year’s crop of nominees include a number of familiar faces, a few new names, and the return of a past winner.

Morgan Wallen is the leading nominee for the 58th annual CMA Awards, with seven nods. He had some help with that — most notably in the form of his featured duet appearance on Post Malone’s smash “I Had Some Help,” which was nominated in four categories.

Wallen’s seven nominations for the annual kudos from the Country Music Association are followed by five each for Cody Johnson and Chris Stapleton. Just behind that mark, Post Malone’s four nominations landed him in a tie with reigning entertainer of the year Lainey Wilson.

Seven artists or producer-writers picked up three nominations each: singers Luke Combs, Jelly Roll, Megan Maroney and Kacey Musgraves, along with Louis Bell, Charlie Handsome and Hoskins, all three of whom co-produced “I Had Some Help” and also are among the credited writers on the tune.

Singer-songwriter Kane Brown will be recognized with the Country Champion Award at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards. The multi-platinum superstar was selected for the honor in appreciation of his passion for service and groundbreaking contributions to the country music industry and beyond.

“Since the beginning of his career, Kane Brown has ensured that his legacy will extend beyond music,” stated Jen Neal, Executive Vice President, Live Events and Specials, NBCUniversal Entertainment. “His dedication to empowering and supporting younger generations is nothing short of inspiring, and we’re thrilled to honor him with the Country Champion Award.”

Hosted by Shania Twain, the annual fan-driven awards show will air live on NBC and Peacock on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 8pm Et/Pt (tape-delayed on the West Coast). Jesse Ignjatovic, Evan Prager, and Barb Bialkowski will serve as executive producers.

MTV announced the four social categories and their nominees for its 2024 Video Music Awards.

The categories that fans can vote on include song of summer, presented by Hilton, best group and two all-new categories with VMAs most iconic performance and best trending video.

Voting for the categories will be hosted on MTV’s Instagram Story.

The best trending video category “celebrates the artist’s videos and/or songs inspired fandoms to generate tremendous content related to the video and/or song.” Nominees include Beyoncé, Camila Cabello ft. The best group category honors a “favorite group across all genres.” Nominees include Nsync, Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Nct Dream, NewJeans, Seventeen, Tomorrow X Together and Twenty One Pilots. Voting begins on Sept.

The People’s Choice Country Awards, first held in 2023, will return for a second edition on NBC in September, with a list of nominees announced Thursday that includes some of the biggest names crossing over between country and the pop mainstream, including Beyoncé, Shaboozey, Zach Bryan, Kacey Musgraves, Morgan Wallen and Jelly Roll.

Bryan led the nominations with 19, followed by Beyoncé with 17 and Musgraves with 15. Notably, none of those three artists had a huge year at country radio, despite their outsized presences as mass-media superstars. That may be one way in which this awards show is looking to distinguish itself from two of its most obvious competitors, the country-music-industry-voted CMA Awards and ACM Awards.
