Sometimes You Can Do Too Much
The good: The soundtrack oh my. The excellence: The cast: Perfect casting. I'm not a fan of Jonathan Majors. I do not dislike him. He delivered a strong performance. Idris Elba: I remember Roger Ebert saying you can usually tell the best supporting actor as you wonder what they were doing off camera. His performance did not rise to this level. When he appeared on camera. His presence overshadowed all others. Delroy Lindo: His performance was terrific. I did not like the end portrayal of his character Bass Reeves. All accounts this man character was above any question. The final frame destroyed. Zazie Beetz: A newcomer she held her own especially against Regina King, who delivered a performance in a role I would not have expected. My favorite and a newcomer: Danielle Deadwyler. Props to the makeup artist who can take a breathtaking woman and turn her into ordinary. The downside: To much going on. Clearly the inspiration is Sergio Leone: The opening of Once Upon a Time In The West to The Good, Bad and Ugly. A little too much in a movie. I can't how or why? I figured out the plot reveal.
