Wax On, Wax Off. For those of us who lived through the 1980s, The Karate Kid has been in our lives in one way or another. Even if you have never seen any of the films, you know what Wax On, Wax Off means. In 2018, we got to take a trip back to the All Valley Karate Tournament to see what Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence were up to. The series Cobra Kai became a big hit on Netflix (after moving from YouTube Red), but with that series winding down, are we saying goodbye to our beloved characters? Not quite yet.
World’s Collide
Before Cobra Kai became a hit, they tried once again to get some juice out of the Karate Kid IP. Only this time without any previous characters. In 2010, a “remake” of The Karate Kid was made. They transported the action to China with a young Jaden Smith...

New season, new deadly doctor: Peacock‘s series “Doctor Death” returns this December with a new eight-episode season. Based on the popular Wondery podcast of the same name, the series looks at real-life cases of medical malpractice. But “Doctor Death” Season 2 skips over the podcast’s second season to instead focus on the topic of its third: Paolo Macchiarini, an Italian surgeon infamous in Europe for extensive research fraud.

‘Doctor Death’, ‘Queer As Folk’ & ‘Becoming Elizabeth’ Head To Rebranded Channel 4 Streaming Service
Channel 4 has picked up a wealth of U.S. content for its rebranded streaming service including Dr. Death, Queer As Folk and Becoming Elizabeth.
The shows will become available over the coming months on the streaming service that was previously called All4 but is now simply titled Channel 4.
Leading the acquisitions slate is NBC’s Doctor Death Season 1, which was based on the hugely successful podcast of the same name. Peacock’s Queer as Folk U.S., meanwhile, is heading to its natural home 25 years after Russell T Davies’ Channel 4 breakout first aired. That show was cancelled by Peacock after one season.
The pair were acquired from NBCUniversal alongside The Girl from Plainville.
Elsewhere, Anya Reiss’ Becoming Elizabeth aired on Starz last year and tells the story of England’s most iconic queen, while Channel 4 has also bought Cruel Summer from eOne.

Originally released in the US at the end of December 2021, with no fanfare, publicity, or (at the time) even an IMDb page, War of the Worlds: Annihilation is the latest film made by The Asylum exclusively for US streaming service Tubi and now making its UK debut via 101 Films. Like their first Tubi original film, Swim, I’ve found their films to be hit or miss, usually miss and the way this was originally dumped quietly in the middle of the holiday season didn’t do anything to make me hopeful about what I was about to watch.
A massive group of meteorites, which for some reason the characters keep calling asteroids, fall from the sky all over the globe releasing a strange toxic smoke. The military,...

The new Megalodon Rising trailer shows us what happens when the military industrial complex takes on the apparently-not extinct megalodon. I'll give you three guesses and the first two don't count. I've got my bait, now I set the hook!
When history's greatest aquatic predator returns, the armada of modern warships sent to destroy it has no chance at all. Tom Sizemore along with O'Shay Neal and Wynter Eddins take on the mighty megalodon with all the military's has to offer. The film is directed by Brian Nowak and written by Andrea Ruth.
The Asylum, an independent film company and distributor known for producing low-budget, direct-to-video mockbusters, have been delighting their fans with the re-telling or embellishing of timely blockbusters since 1999. They have brought us these twists-on-the-classics Snakes on a Train, The Da Vinci Treasure, Pirates of Treasure Island, Hillside Cannibals, Allan Quatermain and the Temple of Skulls, The Day the Earth Stopped,...
