Admiral Ackbar Returns for Fleet Battles in ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 — Filoni and Favreau Tease a “War Movie Vibe” at Star Wars Celebration Japan
Image
Fans attending Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 at Makuhari Messe were treated to exciting news from Ahsoka showrunners Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau. In a special interview at the event, the two revealed that Ahsoka Season 2 will feature the return of a legendary character from the original trilogy: Admiral Ackbar.

Best known for his iconic line — “It’s a trap!” — in Return of the Jedi, Admiral Ackbar was the brilliant Mon Calamari commander who led the Rebel fleet during the Battle of Endor. Now, decades later, he’s set to return to the spotlight in the next chapter of Ahsoka, playing a central role in a large-scale space conflict.

Filoni explained why now was the right moment to reintroduce Ackbar.

Chrissy Teigen Dominates Grammys Red Carpet With See-Through Dress
Image
Reading Time: 2 minutes

The 2025 Grammy Awards took place in Los Angeles last night, and as usual, the red carpet was loaded with daring looks.

Bianca Censori’s nearly nude dress might be dominating the discourse today, but she’s not the only celeb who tested the limits.

Chrissy Teigen also rocked a transparent frock. And while it wasn’t quite as revealing as Bianca’s, she still managed to turn quite a few heads.

Chrissy’s husband John Legend was nominated for three Grammys, including Best Children’s Music Album for his latest effort, My Favorite Dream.

Along with the couple’s kids Luna and Miles, Chrissy provided background vocals for the album’s song “L-o-v-e.”

Of course, John was...

I Can't Believe We're Finally Going To See One Of Luke Skywalker's Greatest Canon Feats
Image
I'm very excited about what Star Wars has in store for Luke Skywalker, including the chance to see one of his greatest canon moments in the wake of the original trilogy. Luke's exploits during the Battle of Jakku have been teased in past Star Wars projects. However, fans will finally get to see the full extent of the Jedi Knight's role during the Empire's last stand against the Rebellion.

Having concluded its canonical Star Wars and Darth Vader series set between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Marvel Comics is now jumping forward to the Battle of Endor's fallout with a new trilogy of stories covering the Battle of Jakku. Jakku was the final conflict between the Empire before its surrender to the New Republic and its subsequent Imperial remnants scattering across the galaxy. However, the battle itself has never been definitively revealed in full outside more unique retellings and POVs.

Image
It was a Glastonbury of old and new — trusted performances from festival legends Coldplay and music veteran Shania Twain, as well as Worthy Farm debuts from Dua Lipa and Sza.

But the U.K.’s most popular music fest draws to a close Monday and 210,000 people will now make their way home after five days of surprise guest stars, wacky sets and a European Championship soccer match that no one could bear to miss.

Houdini singer Dua Lipa kicked off the headline performances on the main Pyramid stage Friday night as she thanked fans for “making my dreams come true.” It was a sturdy and seamless gig from the British pop star who got to enjoy the rest of the festival with the nerves over and done with. She pleased fans by bringing out Tame Impala star Kevin Parker for the duo’s rendition of “The Less I Know the Better.

Why Does Star Wars' New Wookiee Jedi Wear Clothes?
Image
Wookiee Jedi like Kelnacca play a rare role in The Acolyte, wearing traditional Jedi robes in the Star Wars franchise. Wookiees' fur keeps them from wearing clothes, but exceptions seem to be made for religious reasons, which includes being a Jedi. All Wookiee Jedi in Star Wars also wear Jedi robes like Kelnacca, aside from one Wookie Jedi in Star Wars Legends.

A new Wookiee Jedi has joined the Star Wars franchise in The Acolyte, with the Jedi Master Kelnacca playing a supporting role in the series. Although Wookiees are among the most popular and well-known species in the Star Wars franchise, there are few Wookiee Jedi in the modern canon and Legends continuities. Moreover, Kelnacca wears traditional High Republic era Jedi robes, distinguishing him even more from most Wookiees, since he is one of the few who wears clothing.

The Legends continuitys Star Wars radio drama from 1981, notably, revealed...

Star Wars Pieces Together Exactly When Palpatine Became Plagueis' Sith Apprentice
Image
Star Wars has pieced together when Palpatine became Darth Plagueis’ Sith apprentice. While Palpatine never actually said, in the movies, that he was the apprentice mentioned in the “tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise,” it is well established that Sidious was trained by Plagueis. Likewise, Star Wars has made clear that Darth Sidious killed Darth Plagueis, fulfilling the Sith Rule of Two and becoming “all the Sith” for decades to come.

In terms of the Star Wars movies, chronologically, Sidious’ journey begins in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. However, Palpatine’s Star Wars backstory begins decades before the events of the Skywalker saga. For example, Palpatine met Plagueis well before The Phantom Menace. Thanks to Star Wars Timelines by Kristin Baver, Jason Fry, Cole Horton, Amy Richau, and Clayton Sandell, Palpatine's past is now less of a mystery.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow: Season Seven; Early 2021-22 Renewal for CW Superhero Series
Zhao Yao (2019)
The Legends better keep the Waverider gassed up and ready to go. The CW has renewed the DC's Legends of Tomorrow TV series for a seventh year, which will air as part of the 2021-22 television season (September 2021 through August 2022).

The sixth season will air at some point during the current 2020-21 season. According to a now-deleted Instagram post from Dominic Purcell, there will be 14 episodes. Filming reportedly began in October and is expected to finish in May. Given the uncertainty of the current pandemic, it's conceivable that the cast and crew may keep working and bank some season seven episodes.

Season six of DC's Legends of Tomorrow stars Purcell, Caity Lotz, Tala Ashe, Jes Macallan, Olivia Swann, Amy Louise Pemberton, Nick Zano, and Matt Ryan. Shayan Sobhian and Adam Tsekhman have been...

Star Wars: What the Boba Fett Disney+ Series Could Be About
Image
Boba Fett has long been one of the most iconic and controversial characters in Star Wars. Thanks to a killer character design that launched a thousand cosplays, Boba Fett has long outlived the importance of his role–and unceremonious apparent death–in the Original Trilogy. But as most Star Wars fans know, those films are rarely the be all and end all of a Star Wars character’s story.

The Legends continuity of Expanded Universe books and comics spent a lot of time exploring Boba Fett’s later adventures after Return of the Jedi, and while those stories are no longer canon, it’s clear that Disney has long wanted to follow suit on screen — originally with a live-action movie and now with The Mandalorian. But it seems the infamous bounty hunter’s return won’t just be contained to one popular Disney+ series.

Deadline reports that there may also...

Curated in coordination with the Annecy International Animation Festival and its MIFA market, Animation! at Ventana Sur will feature five productions for its 2020 Works in Progress sidebar, including its first-ever non-Latin American production.

The medium isn’t leaving kids behind, however, and Gullane’s “Noah’s Ark – A Musical Adventure,” one of the most buzzed animated features to come out of Latin America in recent years which boasts Brazil’s largest-ever budget for an animated film, and the first Brazilian animated feature with an Indian co-producer in Symbiosys Technologies.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 5 Episode 12 Review: I Am Legends
Zhao Yao (2019)
Who knew immortality mixed with a zombie apocalypse could start so funny and end with great tragedy?

The Legends minus Zari were immortal for twenty-four hours on DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 5 Episode 12, which meant they had a deadline to use the Loom of Fate.

By throwing zombies and no access to the Waverider into the mix, let's just say they have had better days. Well, pretty much every other day besides this one was a better day with the string of bad luck they encountered.

All the Legends minus Charlie are presumably dead.

How is that for a plot twist?

Once Sara told Ava that she had a vision of herself dying by the hands of the zombies, it felt like we got thrust into Avengers: Infinity War as we watched almost all of the characters die.

You're making a huge mistake! What sentient zombies are this well-dressed?

Nate...

Inside the Most Devastating Legends of Tomorrow Twist
Zhao Yao (2019)
This article contains Major Legends of Tomorrow spoilers.

The Legends are back! After a month-long break the beloved CW heroes have returned for an episode that will likely break a few hearts. Last time we saw the crew they were embarking on an emotional goodbye to Ray Palmer as well as exploring Shakespeare’s London to locate a piece of the missing Loom of Fate. With the Loom piece secured in the shape of a ring, the Legends would seem to be in good stead. But when Charlie’s omnipotent sisters finally show up it can only mean terrible things for the hero and her found family. I spoke with Maisie Richardson-Sellers over the phone about Charlie’s journey, those brutal deaths, and why this was the episode that truly made her loner punk a Legend.

“Zari, Not Zari” begins and ends with death. As the episode opens we see...

DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 5 Episode 3 Review: Slay Anything
Not only are the Legends dealing with a different Encore every episode, but the series also seems to be exploring different film themes, as well.

The Legends traveled back in time to stop a serial killer on DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 5 Episode 3 so, of course, the theme was horror. And it was played out just enough to be quite humorous and entertaining without being tacky and cringeworthy.

There were hilarious one-liners, surprising twists, and heartfelt character moments that reminded us why DC's Legends of Tomorrow is one of the best superheroes shows currently on television.

The Encore was the Prom Night Slasher, who everyone believed to be Freddy Meyer, a student at Central City High School.

But there was something off about him when part of the team traveled back to 1989, as he did not seem to be the ruthless killer he was made out to be in...

'Crisis' Returns! Caity Lotz on Paragon Problems ('Everybody Just Wants Oliver Back'), Legends-Flavored Finale
The Crisis on Infinite Earths indeed proved inevitable (as a certain comic book character might put it) when the Anti-Monitor’s anti-matter wave laid waste to the Arrowverse‘s last Earth standing. And yet just before Earth-One got 86’d, Pariah transported the seven Paragons to a hiding place, the Vanishing Point, where they (hopefully) have been plotting a fix for the universe’s eradication.

But for how long have the Paragons been on their own, when Part 4 arrives (Tuesday at 8/7c on The CW)? And what sort of final showdown can we expect, in the special Legends of Tomorrow episode...

Courtroom Battles of 2019 That Wrecked The System
TV characters usually wreak havoc while battling their way out of the legal system.

Are they undermining the law for selfish reasons or giving the justice system a much-needed wake-up call?

Meredith's Medical License Hearing - Grey's Anatomy

Meredith has a long track record of questionable ethical and legal choices.

Instead of facing the consequences, the hearing over her medical license devolved into an “All hail Meredith Grey” fest.

Meredith kept her license, got her job back, and continues to have unchecked power to do as she likes.

Meanwhile, doctors like Schmidt are ostracized for doing the right thing. Thanks to Meredith, a broken system became more broken.

Team Coachroach’s Experiment - The Good Place

Despite the setbacks and sabotage, Team Coachroach did it!

They proved the points system was defective to the Judge, and she ruled in their favor. Small problem — this did not save humanity.

The Judge,...
