The Forbidden Kingdom: We take a look at the fight that finally pit Jackie Chan and Jet Li against each other
Image
For martial arts fans around the world, arguably two of the biggest names next to Bruce Lee in the genre are Jackie Chan and Jet Li. Both are men of undeniably entertaining martial arts action and while they’re similar in many ways, Li and Chan have established their own identities with their resumes, and the film world was big enough for the two of them at their peaks, much like how American action cinema had both Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The dream, of course, was to get both Chan and Li in a movie together and see them fight — either side-by-side or face off in an epic rivalry.

One Of James Gunn's Superman Supporting Actors Has Played The Man Of Steel Himself
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

"Superman" features writer-director James Gunn's muse Nathan Fillion as the Justice Gang's self-appointed leader (and name decider), the hothead Green Lantern Guy Gardner. But you may have missed that the former Captain Reynolds isn't the only "Firefly" star in the movie.

Compared to previous "Superman" films, Gunn's picture features lots more of the casual sci-fi silliness of Silver Age "Superman" comics. Metropolis gets attacked by a kaiju, Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) has his own pocket dimension, and Superman's (David Corenswet) Fortress of Solitude has several robot attendants.

The robots have uniform designs, but also unique voices and numbers. The lead robot is #4, but by the end of the movie, he's taken a new name: "Gary." Gary is voiced by Alan Tudyk. Since his days playing the funny starship pilot Wash on "Firefly," Tudyk has become a prolific voice actor.

"You Can Cut Out [Him] F***ing Fish": Superman Director James Gunn Reveals Aquaman's Status In The Dcu
Image
Jason Momoa first played Arthur Curry in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. That cameo was followed by a proper debut in 2017's Justice League, and despite the movie's failings, Aquaman followed in 2018 and splashed down to a massive $1.1 billion worldwide.

The sequel was released in 2023, and while the final Dceu movie was more successful than the rest of that year's DC offerings, it still flopped with a disappointing $440 million global haul.

We're not sure what the plan for the King of Atlantis would have been had the Dceu stuck around, though Warner Bros. majorly dropped the ball by not properly adapting "Flashpoint" in The Flash (that would have seen Aquaman and Wonder Woman's respective kingdoms at war with each other). Chances are, he'd have been in the Crisis in Infinite Earths movie, at least.

Aquaman was the butt of many jokes in Peacemaker season 1, with Christopher Smith...

Jor-El, the Eradicator and Krypton: Breaking Down James Gunn’s Big ‘Superman’ Twist
Image
Note: There are major spoilers for “Superman” below.

“We love you more than heaven, our son. We love you more than land. Our beloved home will soon be gone forever, but hope finalizes our hearts, and that hope is you Kal-El.”

In an early scene of James Gunn’s “Superman,” a wounded Kal-El listens to this message from his parents as he heals from a recent battle. “It soothes him,” Superman Robot #4 says of the hologram, which was recorded during the destruction of Krypton.

This message is an iconic part of Superman’s lore, rendered with touching poignancy by Gunn and his cast. But there’s also a twist. Early in the film, audiences learn that the message was corrupted in Kal-El’s transit to Earth. There’s a second half that’s yet to be deciphered. What Superman — and audiences — didn’t know, however, was that a more sinister...

12 Superman Weaknesses That Don't Involve Kryptonite
Image
James Gunn's "Superman" is, above all else, an unbelievably refreshing film. It breathed new life not only into the character (with enormous assistance from a perfectly cast David Corenswet), but into the DC Comics brand and the superhero subgenre at large.

One of the most distinct departures Gunn took with his narrative was its exploration of Superman's humanity. It's a deceptively difficult task for a character with godlike abilities, especially after those abilities were emphasized in Zack Snyder's films, which inarguably played a major role in shaping the contemporary perception of what makes Superman special.

To many, he's an extraterrestrial deity whose only vulnerability is Kryptonite, a glowing rock as alien to us as he is. This is far from true -- and, as Gunn showcases to a surprisingly exhaustive extent in his film, the Man of Steel is vulnerable to many of the same things as the people he protects.

DC is Repeating Its Disastrous 'Flashpoint' - With The 1 Hero Who Can Make It Even Worse
Image
Flashpoint delivered one of the darkest and most brutal versions of the DC Universe ever put to page, reimagining heroes like the Flash and Batman in grim, unthinkable ways. It served as a powerful ‘what-if’ worst-case scenario. But now, DC is proving that things can get even worse with the announcement of their next timeline-shattering event: Impulsepoint.

The Flash #26 by Mark Waid and Christopher Cantwell, with art by Vasco Georgiev, will see Wally West’s Flash and Bart Allen’s Impulse take center stage during the Flash-centric chapter in DC’s upcoming K.O. event.

As Scott Snyder, one of the architects behind the event, describes it, “DC K.O. [will be] a knock-down, drag-out fight between all your favorite DC super heroes in a cosmic tournament to save the universe from Darkseid.” Amid this chaos, Bart Allen will propose a catastrophic reality reset dubbed Impulsepoint.

Bart Allen Triggers DC’s...

Image
Superman is currently facing off against Lex Luthor on the big screen, but the rivalry will also be appearing in an upcoming DC Deck-Building Game release. The DC Deck-Building Game series has covered plenty of iconic comic book characters, from the staple members of the Justice League to groups like the Teen Titans or even the less reputable denizens of Arkham Asylum. The DC Supervillain You Didn't Know Harry Potter Star Tom Felton Played
Image
Tom Felton is best known to the world for his role as sneering schoolboy Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies. Shooting to stardom with the release of the first movie in the fantasy series, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," Felton found fame when he was still a young child. Growing up on screen, he has remained a successful actor into adulthood and has gone on to appear in other major franchise releases, including 2011's "Rise of the Planet of the Apes." In 2016, he entered the DC Universe via The CW's Arrowverse, appearing as Julian Albert — his full name later revealed as Julian Albert Desmond — aka Doctor Alchemy on "The Flash."

In DC's comic book universe, Doctor Alchemy was primarily the villainous alter ego of Albert Desmond, though at one point the mantle was also adopted by S.T.A.R. Labs advisor Dr. Curtis Engstrom. Both iterations of the supervillain,...

James Gunn Offers New Look at ‘Ultraman’ in ‘Superman’ – but Who’s Under the Mask?
Image
“Superman” releases in just over two weeks, and the marketing campaign for the film continues in overdrive. Today, James Gunn released an image of “Ultraman,” presumably one of the film’s primary villains — but fans are still wondering who’s under the mask.

Gunn shared a close-up of the villain in-costume on his X account, simply captioning the image “Ultraman.” Though the superpowered threat has been present since the first official teaser for “Superman,” this reveal gives us by far the best look at the character to date.

Ultraman. pic.twitter.com/KvdcMYL3XZ

— James Gunn (@JamesGunn) June 24, 2025

While many depictions grant Superman a nearly indestructible suit — whether by an extension of his powers or a perk of Kryptonian fabric — Ultraman’s uniform clearly lacks the same quality. The image highlights just how ratty Ultraman’s costume truly is, with cracked goggles and fabric actively falling off the mask. It’s a disturbing look,...

Fans finally know who to blame (or thank) for Superman's red trunks
Image
Look up! In the sky... it's a bird... it's a plane... nah, it's some dude flying around in his red underwear.

Although the classic Superman's red trunks are canon, designed by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster in 1938, fans have been clamoring for James Gunn to put Superman back in them. Zack Snyder, lauded for his illustrious vision in film, decided to remove the red trunks for Henry Cavill's Man of Steel.

His reason was sound. Snyder has said that he tried “a billion different versions” but could never make the classic design work. Although the trunks were an iconic facet of Superman's suit, Snyder thought they didn't fit the tone of a Kryptonian suit designed for functionality and practicality.

And so, Cavill didn't have trunks. Then, James Gunn takes the helm of DC Studios, and Superman is back in red trunks. The director of the Guardians of the Galaxy...

I'm Convinced James Gunn's DC Reboot Will Avoid the Dceu's Biggest Flaw After SnyderVerse Star's Recent Confirmation
Image
Zack Snyder's DC Extended Universe is one of the biggest "What If?" stories in the history of cinema. The director always took big swings, including casting Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Even back in 2016, it was clear the idea was to have Morgan reprise his role in a future project to adapt the "Flashpoint" storyline, which sees Thomas don the cowl after Barry Allen changes the timeline. Morgan recently confirmed that plan, which would've likely seen him go to war with Flashpoint Joker, played by fellow The Walking Dead actor Lauren Cohan. Of course, none of that came to pass, and the only person Snyder has to blame is himself.

Negan as the Dark Knight? Jeffrey Dean Morgan confirms he was supposed to be Flashpoint Batman
Zack Snyder at an event for Sucker Punch (2011)
Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opened with Thomas and Martha Wayne getting gunned down in front of their son for what felt like the 100th time. Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohen played the roles of Bruce Wayne’s parents, and although their time in the movie was brief, Snyder was thinking ahead to when they would return in a potential Flashpoint movie.

While speaking with Den of Geek, Morgan confirmed that he was supposed to return as the Flashpoint version of Thomas Wayne. “Truthfully, Zack was gonna do more movies,” he said. “And I think there was a time when Flashpoint Batman would have seen these two characters in a much bigger role. And that was part of the Zack world of all of it, and then I never got a chance to do that, unfortunately.”

In the Flashpoint comic series, Barry Allen alters the...

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Confirms Whether Zack Snyder Had Plans For Flashpoint Batman
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

Due to the many, many times we've seen Bruce Wayne's parents die in "Batman" movies and TV, there are quite a few different Thomas and Martha Wayne actors out there... even if most of them didn't last long enough to leave an impression!

The most recognizable actors to have played the late Waynes are probably Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan in Zack Snyder's 2016 film "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." (Morgan and Cohan are both well-known for playing Negan and Maggie on "The Walking Dead," respectively, and are currently starring together in the spin-off "Dead City.")

Snyder opens his movie by cutting between the Waynes being shot in an alley and young Bruce (Brandon Spink) running away from their funeral, only to fall into a cave of bats (and his future). Both scenes are fastidiously recreated from Frank Miller's seminal Batman comic,...

“Zack was going to do more movies”: Jeffrey Dean Morgan Almost Played Flashpoint Batman in Zsjl 2
Image
Zack Snyder may not be at the helm of the DC Extended Universe, but his impact and popularity are still at an all-time high. The iconic filmmaker is known for his bold storytelling and stunning direction, and he has movies such as Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and his version of Justice League under his belt.

But after James Gunn and Peter Safran took over, his vision was cut short, but left plenty of what-ifs. One of which involved Flashpoint Batman. Now, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who was set to take on the role, has revealed a major behind-the-scenes detail.

Zack Snyder almost cast Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Flashpoint Batman

Before the DC universe was rebooted under the leadership of James Gunn, Zack Snyder had big and ambitious plans for his version of the DC Extended Universe. He was all set to expand the Justice League saga, and interestingly, one...

Zack Snyder's Plan for Flashpoint Batman in the Dceu Sounds Perfect
Image
It's confirmed: Zack Snyder had a plan for a more comics-accurate Flashpoint adaptation in the DC Extended Universe. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played Thomas Wayne in Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, shared the filmmaker's original plan while on a promotion tour for The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2.

After being asked by Den of Geek about him and his Dead City co-star Lauren Cohan portraying Bruce Wayne's parents in the Batman v Superman opening flashback, Morgan revealed that there was originally a plan to introduce the Flashpoint Batman to the Dceu. "Truthfully, Zack was gonna do more movies," he confirmed. "And I think there was a time when Flashpoint Batman would have seen these two characters in a much bigger role. And that was part of the Zack world of all of it, and then I never got a chance to do that, unfortunately."

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Confirms He Was Supposed To Play The Dceu's Flashpoint Batman
Image
2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opened by revisiting the fateful night Thomas and Martha Wayne were gunned down in Crime Alley. However, perhaps the biggest surprise for fans was seeing Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan playing the iconic DC Comics couple.

They'd both starred in Supernatural (without ever sharing the screen) and later crossed paths in The Walking Dead. With two fairly noteworthy actors cast as Thomas and Martha, fans hoped that the planned Flashpoint movie would feature Morgan and Cohan as Batman and The Joker.

In the Flashpoint comic book, Barry Allen creates a new reality after travelling back in time to save his mother from the Reverse-Flash. Among the changes was Bruce Wayne being gunned down in front of his parents. That led to Thomas becoming Batman, and Martha being transformed into a twisted new version of The Joker.

In a new interview, Morgan...

Zack Snyder's Flashpoint Batman Actor Finally Gets Confirmed - And He's the Perfect Choice
Image
Years after the end of Zack Snyder's Dceu, the Man of Steel director's ever-so-perfect pick for a Flashpoint Batman actor was finally confirmed. From 2013 to 2017, Snyder shepherded DC Comics' on-screen brand. The filmmaker never realized the full extent of his DC vision, being taken off 2017's Justice League and, thus, out of the franchise entirely. That has not stopped the filmmaker from sharing his extensive plans for the future of the Blue Brand, including tackling the iconic Flashpoint DC Comics story.

A recent interview confirmed the actor who would have played Batman in Zack Snyder's Flashpoint film, and it is the perfect choice. The Flashpoint movie was just one of many DC Comics stories Snyder wanted to tackle with his Dceu but never got the chance to, with the super-powered universe being rebooted on the backs of James Gunn and Peter Safran.

From ‘Parkland’ to ‘Jackie’: 9 Best Movies on JFK Assassination

November 22, 1963, is one of the darkest days in the history of America. It was the day when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated, and the tragedy altered the course of U.S. and world history and changed the American political landscape. His death in Dallas has generated many official investigations as well as serious public debates about the actual events of that day.

The official account that accuses lone gunman Lee Harvey Oswald of the assassination still remains in doubt. Even the U.S. House Select Committee on Assassinations believed that Kennedy was likely killed as a result of a conspiracy involving multiple shooters. Research documents about the death remain classified decades after the event, leading to constant public curiosity about the JFK assassination.

Many films have been made to explore the assassination through various perspectives, including historical treatments and science fiction alternative narratives. These movies analyze both the Kennedy...

Get ready for more “John Wick.”

Keanu Reeves is returning for “John Wick 5” as the nunchuck-wielding hitman, Lionsgate announced at CinemaCon on Tuesday morning. Batman Is Armed With This New Comic DC Multiverse Figure From McFarlane Toys
Image
In the last 85-plus years, Batman has seen countless iterations. Whether it's found on the comic book page, in a film or a TV series, everyone has their preferred Batman as well as the style in which The Caped Crusader operates. McFarlane Toys has covered many of these different Dark Knights in their DC-centric figure lines. Now, their latest Batman figure takes the character back to his brutal routes.

A part of McFarlane's DC Multiverse seven-inch scale Collector Edition sub-series, their latest Batman figure (Collector Edition #34) is based on the four-part 1987 Detective Comics story “Batman: Year 2.” One of the artists on that comic was Todd McFarlane, and this Batman looks to be recreating his signature exaggerated style. The most noticeable thing the figure comes with is a gun, specifically Joe Chill’s gun. This was the criminal who murdered Bruce Wayne’s parents. This piece is being introduced in the...

'This Isn't Scathing Enough': Enrico Colantoni on His Wild Suits LA Role
Image
The following contains spoilers for Suits LA Season 1, Episode 4, "Batman Returns," which debuted Sunday, March 16 on NBC.

Enrico Colantoni has been a fan-favorite on TV for decades, whether it's playing Keith Mars in Veronica Mars, the stalwart Greg Parker in Flashpoint or any of his numerous guest appearances. However, his role on Suits LA might have surprised more than a few viewers. In the NBC spinoff's fourth episode, Colantoni played a version of himself... who was arrested for attacking his neighbor's petunias with a chainsaw.

The plot only got stranger from there, not only as audiences found out why the actor had been motivated to do a little gardening, but exactly how he'd done it. Plus, Colantoni ran afoul of Stuart Lane, portrayed by Josh McDermitt. In an interview with Cbr, the English Teacher star gave his thoughts on the storyline, discussed a possible return to the show -- and...

Police procedurals are always popular, and Prime Video has gotten their hands on a good one, with the series Wild Cards finding success on the streamer and landing at #3 in the top 10 most watched shows. This viewership success comes following a critical win, with the first season of Wild Cards landing a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Wild Cards was made available on Prime Video earlier this week, and has quickly found itself in the charts on the streamer, beating the likes of the crime series Cross, the video game series Secret Level, the hugely popular Reacher, and falling just behind reality series Beast Games and another police procedural, On Call. You can check out the detailed synopsis for the series below.

Demoted detective Ellis has unfortunately spent the last year on the maritime unit while Max has been living a transient life elaborately scamming everyone she meets. However,...

Fans of 'The Rookie' Need to Check Out the Underrated Series 'Flashpoint'
Image
Nathan Fillion is killing it in The Rookie. Seven seasons in, the series is still as fresh and snappy as when it first began. Fans are addicted to the fast-paced series filled with a lovable and dynamic cast facing high-stakes drama. And if viewers are finding it harder and harder to wait for the next week’s episode in the period of binge-able content, fans can look to get their fix with another highly emotional, edge-of-your-seat crime drama that is now available for streaming: Flashpoint.

Flashpoint is a Canadian police procedural starring Amy Jo Johnson (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), David Paetkau (Final Destination 2), Jessica Steen (Heartland), and Enrico Colantoni (Just Shoot Me). Inspired by Toronto’s Emergency Task Force, the series follows the specialized police team, Strategic Response Unit, as it answers a series of high-risk emergencies and calls around an unnamed city. The Flash: Why Andy Muschietti Blaming Filmgoers For The 2023 Movie Failing Doesn't Add Up
Image
It took Warner Bros. the better part of a decade to get The Flash up and running. After losing multiple writers and directors, It helmer Andy Muschietti seemed like a good fit for the job; excitement for the movie also increased when it was revealed to be a loose adaptation of Flashpoint featuring the return of Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton's respective versions of Batman and Supergirl's long-awaited Dceu debut.

Original plans called for the movie to set the stage for Crisis on Infinite Earths, with Affleck's Dark Knight trapped in another reality and Keaton replacing him in the Dceu ahead of the since-scrapped Batgirl movie. Alas, as regimes changed, so did the ending.

Cavill's Man of Steel was inserted into The Flash's final moments after his return in Black Adam, only to be removed when DC Studios was formed. In fact, the entire thing was then heavily reshot,...

‘The Prosecutor’ Review: Donnie Yen Directs and Stars in a Lively If Somewhat Melodramatic Action-Drama
Image
The action’s hot but the dramatic temperature varies in “The Prosecutor,” a flashy combination of Hong Kong crime story and legal drama starring and directed by Donnie Yen. The veteran action star is convincing and charismatic as a cop who quits the force to become a crusading Department of Justice prosecutor but is let down by a screenplay that’s prone to bouts of melodrama in and out of the courtroom. Entertaining enough despite its flaws, “The Prosecutor” has topped the Hong Kong box office for two weeks (thus far) since opening on Dec. 21 and ought to perform well in limited U.S. theatrical release from Jan. 10.

Containing less action than a regular Donnie Yen film, and with his character delivering lines such as “I’m getting old, I can’t catch thieves anymore” and “I just got old” as a reason for his career change, “The Prosecutor” sparked...

10 DC Comics Retcons That Upended the Universe For Better (or Worse)
Image
With an ongoing narrative that’s lasted for the better part of a century, DC Comics has one of the most convoluted fictional continuities in of all time. After countless Crises, Rebirths, and a Flashpoint here and there, there’s not a single character or aspect of the DC Universe that hasn’t been impacted by a retcon in one way or another.

Many of these retcons have become integral to fans’ conceptions of the World’s Greatest Heroes, while more than a few still have their fair share of detractors. But each one of the retcons in this list had an undeniable effect on the DC Universe - and its fans.

10 Times the Flash Proved He's Way Darker Than DC Comics Is Willing to Admit
Image
The Flash may be one of DC's revered heroes, standing proud among Justice League icons like Superman and Wonder Woman, but he also has a dark side that most aren't aware of. Beneath the Flash's carefree attitude lies a simmering rage that, when brought to the surface, results in him carrying out actions that put him on par with his most malicious villains.

Multiple heroes in DC lore have been chosen as the Flash, and they've all unleashed their inner darkness at one point. Whether it's during a heated battle with a nemesis or a dispute with an ally that gets taken a step too far, the Fastest Man Alive can take a shockingly sinister turn when the situation calls for it, so the Justice League should be grateful that he's on their side - for now, at least. These 10 Flash moments showcase just how twisted the Scarlet Speedster can be,...

After 10 Years, I Think DC's Criminally Underrated 'Secret Six' Series Is Back
Image
Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but I think that the DC Universe's most underrated team, the Secret Six, is coming back. They haven't headlined a series since the New 52, but some tantalizing artwork makes me believe that we're this close to seeing the team return to the Dcu.

Over the last couple of weeks, writer Nicole Maines has been posting some intriguing artwork on Bluesky. Maines began a series of six posts, the first three of which featured new costume designs for Dreamer, Jay Nakamura, and Superman's son Jonathan Kent.

After those three, Maines followed up with new designs for a few other surprising characters, the first being the powerful magic teen, Black Alice. But the final two were the most surprising, as Maines revealed new designs for Suicide Squad veteran Deadshot and the Secret Six's fan-favorite member, Catman.

12 Biggest Limits on Flash's Powers That Stop Him Becoming a God (& Whether They've Ever Been Broken)
Image
The Flash is not only the fastest character in superhero comics, but one of the most powerful characters in the DC Universe. From Jay Garrick to Avery Ho and everyone in between, the Flash has the opportunity to ascend to godhood - he's just that powerful. And yet, something always stops him and keeps him humbly human.

The Flash has done many miraculous things in his superhero tenure, but there are a few limitations and weaknesses that keep him from his full potential, including his very own source of power. A number of power limits stop him becoming a true god, but those limits have also occasionally been broken. Because the Flash is always going to push the limit - on the universe and on himself.

After 27 Years, DC Officially Kills Off the Superheroes of Its Criminally Underrated Universe (But For a Good Reason)

The Tangent heroes may be gone, but their legacy lives on through a new hero that fights on their behalf.

15 Gaming Websites Every '00s Kid Was Obsessed With
Image
Forget butterfly clips, trucker caps, and flip phones: nothing screams the early 2000s like a Neopets or RuneScape-style online PC game. Growing up in the 2000s, the free-to-play landscape was immensely different. Hundreds of thousands of Flash games were available for free online, from the fan-made to the corporate promotional. Mostly short and sweet, these games could run even on a lower-end PC. Microtransactions were nearly unheard of, and many made games for the simple joy of creation (and a healthy dose of ad revenue). They weren't always good, but they were usually free.

Unfortunately, the browser game landscape changed drastically when Adobe stopped supporting Flash Player in 2020. This was the platform many online games were built on, and without it, many of these sites will never again see the light of day. Browser games can still run on Java, and many still exist, but the popularity of free online browser games has undeniably dwindled.

After Today, No-One Can Deny [Spoiler] Should Be a Justice League Mainstay
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Jenny Sparks #3!One DC Comics hero has earned their place among the very best of the Justice League. While the League has been a staple of the DC Universe for 64 years, the group has been put on hiatus by DC since the conclusion of Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths, only recently returning. As Justice League Unlimited approaches, the Jla is growing bigger than ever, leaving room for one particular hero's inclusion: Jenny Sparks.

Jenny Sparks #3 by Tom King, Jeff Spokes, and Clayton Cowles sees the title character helping the League combat a former Leaguer turned villain, Captain Atom, who has turned evil after developing a god complex. However, Sparks is just as critical of the League themselves, suggesting they don't realize they're developing god complexes of their own.

However, Jenny Sparks isn't so much condemning the Justice League as heroes as she is holding them accountable. She's...

DC Is Finally Fixing a Sexist Trend Running Through Batman Lore
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Absolute Batman #1Absolute Batman debuts with a massive twist to Batman lore, and it finally addresses a sexist trend running throughout the characters history. The first issue of the new series by Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta introduces a new version of Batman with major changes to his world. Perhaps the greatest change to Batman in this world is the reveal that, while Thomas Wayne was still killed when Bruce was a child, his mother Martha is still alive, having raised Bruce after Thomas death.

Martha's survival and continued presence in Bruce's life is not only a massive twist to one of the foundational aspects of Batmans lore, but it also fixes a sexist trend which has unfortunately become commonplace within the characters history.

The overwhelming majority of stories featuring flashbacks to Bruces childhood focus on his relationship with his father or Alfred. As a result, Martha...

5 Reasons Robert Pattinson's The Batman Should Be The Dcu's Caped Crusader
Image
We recently learned that Warner Bros. Discovery is supposedly mulling over the possibility of bringing Robert Pattinson's Batman into the Dcu. After the success of The Batman and The Penguin, we're not surprised, though getting everyone on board with the idea is another matter.

DC Studios' James Gunn and filmmaker Matt Reeves are already working together, and the latter's influence on Batman's corner of the DC Universe appears to be growing bigger all the time.

In this feature, we're diving into why "Battinson" joining the Dcu would be what's best for The Batman franchise and Gunn's reboot plans. Nothing is confirmed at this stage, but for us, the sooner Pattinson shares the screen with David Corenswet's Superman, the better...mostly.

The Flash Movie Concept Trailer Imagines the Big-Screen Send-Off Fans Wanted for Grant Gustin
Image
2023's The Flash was packed with cameos but failed to include The CW's version of Barry Allen. One fan has attempted to correct the "anomaly" by creating a concept trailer titled "The Flash: The Final Run."

Ezra Miller's appearance in the Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths was a pleasant surprise to DC fans. It all but confirmed that The CW shows were part of the Dceu, stoking hope that Grant Gustin's Barry Allen would make a cameo in 2023's The Flash. That film revealed plenty of Easter eggs in the final act, but Gustin's character wasn't included (It was later revealed the actor was left out after the creative team shortlisted the cameos). Gustin's The Flash was a favorite among fans and DC Studios head James Gunn, who praised The CW series for its impressive run. YouTube user Julian Bell dished out fan service by reimagining the creation of the Flashpoint timeline.

This Underrated DC TV Show Actually Improved With Each Season
Image
The DC Universe is changing once more on the big and small screen. Previously, the Dceu, the Arrowverse, and other Elseworlds projects were so separate that the comic book company was able to experiment with their projects and produce some shows and movies that normally would never have made it to screen. When it comes to TV, DC Comics and Warner Bros. went through a real high point, with a litany of seasons highlighting the company's most beloved characters. Whether it was the likes of The Flash, Arrow and Supergirl in the Arrowverse, or perhaps the darker tones of Titans and Krypton, DC TV managed to find a way to appeal to a wide variety of audiences throughout the 2010s. Not every show was a smash hit, with some, like Batwoman and Constantine, getting canceled very quickly. But the Multiverse and shared universe nature of comic book storytelling meant that...
