John Cena Comes Out As A Caleb Hearon Fan Following MrBeast Diss
Image
Earlier this week, YouTube giant and junk-food salesman Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson launched an unprompted public attack on actor, writer and comedian Caleb Hearon after Rolling Stone listed Hearon above him on their list of 2025’s top influencers. Yesterday, Hearon got some support that none of us could see coming.

The same day that Donaldson tweeted a picture of Hearon’s face in the Rolling Stone article with the caption, “According to this list a guy with 1 million followers is more influential than me. What did I do to piss off The Rolling Stones (sic)?” the content creator with an estimated net worth of $1 billion took down his post and pursued peace with Hearon’s fanbase.

Cozy Earth has broadcast the action via TikTok Live, and some on-demand Bed Rot clips have cleared 10 million views on the ByteDance-owned platform.

One Flaw From MrBeast’s Squid Game Could Sabotage His Hunger Games Pitch
Image
Famed YouTuber MrBeast, real name James Donaldson, admitted he had been planning to recreate Jennifer Lawrence’s The Hunger Games into a YouTube survival show. As much as this sounds like an exciting endeavor, the criticisms of his previous Squid Game project, such as the alleged unfair treatment of participants and the poor environment conditions, might become an obstacle.

While speaking on Today’s show, he gave a tidbit of info on the new game’s concept. Foregoing the deadly weapons, the rule from the original movie stays the same: only one will be hailed as the victor.

I’ve been sitting on this idea where it’d be fun to grab potentially 26 random people to put them on an island, and then not use real weapons, maybe like laser tag or something like that – and then the last remaining one wins $1 million to recreate Hunger Games in real life.

MrBeast Wants To Make the 'Hunger Games' a Reality Show
Image
Let’s be honest: A real-life Hunger Games sounds absolutely terrifying. Even when Netflix announced that they would be making a reality game show based on the South Korean drama Squid Game, which also features a high-stakes competition where people fight to the death until one victor is chosen, we were left wondering: “Who asked for this?”

Of course, there was no killing involved in the Netflix game show, but there are striking similarities between the South Korean drama and the dystopian book series written by Suzanne Collins. Squid Game: The Challenge drew criticism before and after its release for a range of offenses, from exploiting players to making them play in cruel conditions. However, the show went on to become quite popular: according to The Hollywood Reporter, Squid Game: The Challenge garnered 1.42 billion minutes of viewing in the United States during its first week. And as a result, Netflix...

Ice Cube’s ‘War of the Worlds’: What the Critics Are Saying
Image
Amazon Prime Video’s War of the Worlds is trending online, with critics (and the internet alike) mostly rebuking the film.

The 2025 adaptation of H. G. Wells’ 1898 novel of the same name stars Ice Cube as Will Radford, a Department of Homeland Security officer, who is tasked with keeping Earth safe from an infamous hacker when an alien invasion simultaneously occurs.

This isn’t the first time Wells’ story has been refurbished. Orson Welles’ was the first to adapt War of the Worlds with his infamous 1938 radio broadcast. Additional reiterations include Steven Spielberg’s 2005 film of the same name, and several other movies and TV shows.

The official logline for the film reads, “A gargantuan invasion is coming with this fresh take on the legendary novel of the same name. Renowned actress Eva Longoria is joined by iconic rapper and actor Ice Cube, along with Michael O’Neill and Iman Benson,...

MrBeast isn’t slowing down, and at this point, why would he? First, he conquered YouTube. Then came Beast Burgers, Feastables chocolate, toys, and even a cameo in Netflix’s Love, Death + Robots. Now, Jimmy Donaldson, aka MrBeast, is taking his empire to animation with MrBeast Lab, an upcoming series set to drop in October. And yes, the first trailer is already making waves. The trailer kicks off in a setting fans will recognize immediately: a MrBeast Lab straight out of the toy line. Things go south fast as black shadow monsters swarm the lab, only to be met by a massive blue creature that lets out a deep growl. Cue MrBeast himself, sporting earphones and riding an elevator like this is just another Tuesday. “Welcome to MrBeast Lab,” he announces. Elon Musk’s Tesla Diner Is the Cybertruck of Restaurants

Call me crazy, but I have certain expectations of any establishment calling itself a “diner.” In general, I shouldn’t have to wait for a seat. The interior ambiance should be warm and welcoming, with comfortable booths — perhaps with their padding slightly worn from years of visits from loyal customers. I should be able to order off a laminated menu, from a waiter or waitress with an easy tableside manner. The food should not be overthought or trendy, just a spread of classic American fare, with a few specialties particular to the region.

YouTube is expanding a feature that lets creators “test and compare” titles and thumbnails
Image
As creators embrace data-driven approaches to video production, YouTube is equipping them with enhanced insights about their titles and thumbnails. Google’s video platform is expanding the size of the experimental group for a “test and compare” feature that brings A/B tests to YouTube Studio.

According to the YouTube Help page that lists ongoing tests and experiments on the platform, YouTube is “starting to experiment” with title and thumbnail tests by opening up the comparative option among “a small percentage of creators.” Despite the novelty of the experiment, this product isn’t exactly new. YouTube announced A/B tests for thumbnails at VidCon in 2023, and the corresponding rollout began in 2024.

A/B tests for titles and thumbnails meet the demands of creators who are looking to optimize their videos in search of the highest possible viewership. Specifically, robust thumbnail testing is a strategy favored by MrBeast, who built A...

I’m Still Waiting for Zack Bia to Explain How He Pulled Madison Beer, Olivia Rodrigo, and 1 More
Image
By now, the name Zack Bia might not be familiar to the average music fan unless you know him as someone’s ex. Yes, somehow this nightlife promoter turned record label founder has managed to date not one, not two, but at least three A-list women. This 29-year-old DJ has built a baffling legacy, not through music charts but through his dating history or appearing in the background of popular figures in the music industry.

That’s what makes this all baffling, because Zack Bia, for all his industry proximity, is still best known for being the ex. Like most pop culture enthusiasts, I’ve spent more time trying to figure out how Zack Bia keeps dating the most famous and stunning women in pop culture, including Madison Beer and Olivia Rodrigo. And, recently, he was seen cozying up with another stunning celebrity, Madelyn Cline.

Has Cristiano Ronaldo Converted to Islam: Speculation That Started With MrBeast Podcast May Just be True

Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in 2023 when he was out of options, and a certain Sheikh had offered millions to have Ronaldo on his team. Although it essentially saved his football career, it also seems that Al-Nassr has had an influence on Ronaldo’s faith.

The rumors started during a Mr. Beast podcast that Cristiano Ronaldo had converted to Islam. Although raised in a Catholic home, Ronaldo did something quite unprecedented in a recent football match, which has grabbed the attention of the world.

Cristiano Ronaldo made dua before his Portugal match?

It has been 2 years since the Portuguese footballer joined Al-Nassr, a football club based in Saudi Arabia. Due to Ronaldo’s fame and success, several other Asian and European footballers also shifted to clubs in the Middle East.

The Philippou Brothers Unleash ‘Bring Her Back’: How the Ex-YouTubers Became A24’s Leading Horror Hitmakers
Image
How far does a billion YouTube views get you in a film pitch? Not very, as Australian twins Danny and Michael Philippou learned while scraping together funding for their first feature. In their twenties, the brothers honed their filmmaking chops — and gained millions of subscribers — on their channel RackaRacka, producing fast-paced, comically violent videos like “Harry Potter Vs Star Wars” and “Ronald McDonald Chicken Store Massacre.” All the while, they took some crew jobs on film sets and commercials to work toward directing their own movie.

“RackaRacka was a talking point in meetings, but not a good one,” Danny says, laughing. “They just didn’t think we could do a movie. To be fair, we weren’t making deep stuff on YouTube.” Michael adds: “It was, like, Nerf gun wars!”

Nudging ribs and kicking each other under the table during their interview, the 32-year-old twins — distinguishable by Danny’s bleached...

Sports, Rebrands and Marching Bands: 6 Biggest Takeaways From TV’s Ad Upfronts
Image
A Mickey Mouse marching band, Cowboys cheerleaders and Seth MacFarlane singing — oh my! Last week, Disney, Netflix, NBCUniversal, Warner Bros. Discovery, Amazon and YouTube wrapped up their annual upfront presentations to Madison Avenue, leaving advertisers to now face a difficult decision: Where and how to place their bets and allocate their budgets.

That choice will be particularly complicated this year with buyers reevaluating decisions in the face of President Donald Trump’s rapidly-evolving tariff policies. The declining linear TV business is also grappling with more pressure than ever as viewers continue flocking to streaming, a viewership model that’s increasingly popular but has yet to provide the same consistent financial returns that traditional TV did in the past. Add in the appetite around sports and other live events — programming that viewers still prefer consuming live, which benefits buyers — and this year’s presentations felt hungrier than most.

When it came to the presentations themselves,...

Walton Goggins, Aaron Moten, and Ella Purnell in Fallout (2024)
Fallout | Prime Video has already commissioned season 3
Walton Goggins, Aaron Moten, and Ella Purnell in Fallout (2024)
Fallout season 2 isn’t due to stream until December, but Prime Video has already ordered season 3 of the hit post-apocalyptic series.

Fallout made stars of Ella Purnell and Walton Goggins when it began streaming in 2024, and the post-apocalyptic series was so successful for Prime Video that season 2 was ordered almost right away.

Since then, everyone involved has been working away on that second run of episodes, with Fallout season 2 due to premiere on Prime Video this December. Months before that happens, though, Amazon MGM has gone and ordered a third season.

It’s a further sign of its studio’s faith in the show’s long-term future, with season 1 said to have attracted some 100m viewers across its eight-episode run. Sci-fi series like these aren’t cheap to make, however, so the powers that be at its studio clearly think that viewers will coming back for more of its mixture...

Donaldson has subsequent said that he lost millions on the show, seeking to ensure it was the most over-the-top competition series in history. A two-season renewal will likely give him more runway to execute on that concept further. Amazon confirms that Donaldson will return as host and EP.

Found Footage Anthology ‘Clickbait’ Skewers Online Culture [Review]
Image
Did you know that Psycho was the first major motion picture to feature an onscreen flushing toilet? Modern indoor plumbing had been available for centuries at that point, but, for some reason, studios thought that this ubiquitous technology didn’t fit their vision of a romanticized cinematic reality. While this sounds silly in retrospect, there is still an industry-wide reluctance to depict commonplace trends and technologies that defy the “cinematic ideal.” After all, it was only during the past decade or so that big releases started to include smartphones in their stories, and most movies still have issues with properly depicting emergent media and online culture without sounding like Steve Buscemi wanting to interact with his “fellow kids.”

Fortunately, there’s one area where this definitely isn’t the case, and that would be the Found Footage genre. As far back as the early 2000s, in-world camera movies have been...

Deadline understands that the streamer is casting for Season 2 and, though there hasn’t been an official renewal announcement, we hear there’s talk of a two-season order for the MrBeast-fronted series. Advertisers hoping to reach under-18 viewers on YouTube can keep Pace with a new tool
Image
Precise TV has unveiled a first-of-its-kind solution to help advertisers reach consumers under the age of 18. At the Iab PlayFronts, the contextual video ad tech platform unveiled Pace, a tool that helps users target young viewers in an efficient and legally compliant manner.

Pace, which stands for Precise Audience Content Evaluator, draws from its namesake company’s proprietary data to serve as “the first comprehensive video advertising solution for audience targeting and measurement for under-18 demographics,” according to a press release from Precise TV. By applying machine learning to that data, Pace aims to reduce wasted spend among advertisers seeking to reach the relevant cohort.

In an email to Tubefilter, a Precise TV rep demonstrated how Pace can be used to break down audience segments, even within the nebulous “under-18” category. For example:

Educational creator Ms. Rachel gets 85% of her traffic from viewers aged five and under. Ryan’s World...

Despite Success Of ‘Squid Game’, Koreans Are Choosing YouTube Over Netflix – Report
Image
Earlier this week we brought news that South Korean content is now second only to the U.S. on Netflix, but it appears Korean audiences are opting for YouTube over the streamer.

According to new research from Digital-i, which examined YouTube viewing for the first time, South Korean people with active YouTube accounts spent a whopping 210 minutes (3 hours 30 minutes) per day watching the platform in the final quarter of last year, which was second only to Japan (214 minutes) in the countries measured.

Koreans who subscribe to Netflix spent less than half that time (96 minutes) watching the streamer, which airs Korean hits like Squid Game, Love Next Door and Queen of Tears.

Digital-i found by far and away the biggest gap between YouTube and Netflix viewing in Japan and South Korea, with other nations much more equal. In the U.S., active Netflix subs watched 117 minutes of Netflix per day in...

MrBeast Fans Call Out Resorts World Over Disappointing 'Experience' at Las Vegas Hotel, YouTube Star Promises to Make It Up to Them
Image
MrBeast fans are calling out Las Vegas hotel Resorts World for a disappointing “experience” that has left many feeling upset and angry… and the YouTube star is promising to make it up to his fans.

Back in January, the hotel announced a partnership with MrBeast (aka Jimmy Donaldson) for the new “MrBeast Experience,” which was billed as a three-day event taking place across April 13 to 15.

Anyone who booked a three-night stay at the hotel would receive a MrBeast “mystery bag” that included limited-edition merch and goodies, with one bag containing a $10,000 prize. The Hollywood Reporter noted that the event would include “on-site activations and immersive experiences across the Resorts World property and in some of its restaurants.”

While only fans who stayed in the hotel for the three-night stay were eligible to receive a mystery bag, it was advertised that the experience would be open to all visitors.

When the event was announced,...

Forget free shipping, Prime Video is Amazon Prime's best feature
Image
While Prime Video was once almost considered an easily overlooked benefit of Prime membership, now it is Amazon’s most reliable feature.

When most people think of Amazon Prime, free shipping is usually the first thing that comes to mind. And while the convenience of fast, free deliveries is hard to argue with, Prime Video has steadily improved in both value and quality, and is now one of the biggest reasons to maintain a Prime membership.

As someone who has subscribed to Amazon Prime since 2011, and has tested nearly every major streaming platform, I’ve found myself turning to Prime Video more often than expected in recent months and years. Between the platform’s growing slate of originals, wide device support, and useful features like offline downloads, Prime Video has quietly become one of the most robust streaming services available today.

30-Day Free Trial $8.99+ / month amazon.com Prime Video offers a...

Top YouTube Creators Sign On to Use Tool Meant to Protect Their Likenesses on the Platform
Image
A number of major YouTube stars have signed on to a pilot program that will give high-profile figures more control over their likenesses on the platform.

The video platform says that creators like MrBeast (real name Jimmy Donaldson), Mkbhd (Marques Brownlee) and Mark Rober have signed on to test the tool, which was announced last year. The tool’s rollout comes as generative AI tech makes it almost trivially easy to replicate the appearance or voice or a celebrity.

When it first announced the tool last year, YouTube unveiled a partnership with CAA that will let its clients, including athletes, musicians and athletes, try it out as part of a pilot program. The news on Wednesday expands that pool to high-profile creators.

The tool surfaces AI-generated content featuring a famous person’s likeness, and allows them to request removal.

YouTube’s pilot expansion was made in connection to the news...

Movie Stars vs. Influencers: Who’s Made More Money in 2024?
Image
Hollywood A-listers or TikTok trendsetters, who’s got the bigger paycheck in 2024? Once upon a time, movie stars ruled the money game, cashing in on blockbuster deals and hefty backend profits. But now? Influencers are out here flipping viral dances and skincare routines into multi-million-dollar empires. It’s not just about red carpets anymore; it’s about brand deals, merch drops, and engagement rates.

While actors still pull in jaw-dropping salaries, think Robert Downey Jr.’s levels of wealth, the influencer economy is a whole different beast. A viral post can make more money in a day than some actors do in a whole season. With platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube offering monetization goldmines, top influencers are stacking their bank accounts faster than Hollywood can greenlight a sequel.

Molly-Mae Series “Changed People’s Expectations,” Says Amazon UK TV Exec
Image
The Molly-Mae documentary series “changed people’s expectations of her” and gave the influencer more space for her true self to come across, according to Prime Video UK head of TV licensing Hannah Blyth.

Blyth said popular docs like Molly-Mae: Behind it All about the influencer-content creator are helping the streamer reach younger, female audiences in the UK.

Behind it All, which launched last month, is a tell-all account of Hague’s time launching her fashion brand after she had her first baby and broke up with fiancée Tommy Fury – a break-up that generated plenty press interest over the two ex-Love Island stars.

“Molly is very endearing and people feel they know her well but it was important having the space for a long-form title where you see more into her life from a different angle,” Blyth said at Mip London. “The feedback we got was it changed...

However, behind the scenes, the show put a major financial strain on Jimmy Donaldson’s wallet.

Why MrBeast Wanted To Be YouTube’s CEO: But Here’s The Unexpected Plot Twist That Changed Everything!
Image
MrBeast’s CEO Dream Shocker! (Photo Credit – Instagram)

MrBeast as YouTube’s CEO? Woah, that’s something to ponder about. Susan Wojcicki announced on Feb. 16 that she was done with Yt and was stepping down after about a decade.

“Today, after nearly 25 years here, I’ve decided to step back from my role as the head of YouTube and start a new chapter focused on my family, health, and personal projects I’m passionate about,” she announced. “The time is right for me, and I feel able to do this because we have an incredible leadership team in place at YouTube.”

The internet, though, barely had time to process all this when MrBeast (literally) posted on X: “Can I be CEO.” No explanation. No follow-up. Just four words that threw YouTube’s comment section into overdrive.
