Dead Within Gets Us Distribution
If you were holed up in a cabin with your loved one during the apocalypse, what horrors would you find outside your long unopened door? That’s the question at the heart of writer/director Ben Wagner’s latest film, Dead Within, which Millennium Entertainment recently picked up.

A release date has not yet been set for this psychological horror film, but we’ll let Daily Dead readers know when one is determined. To get real results out of his actors, Ben Wagner filmed the movie in the tradition of The Blair Witch Project, placing stars Amy Cale Peterson and Dean Chekvala (both of whom helped write the script) in a real locked cabin wherein they had no idea what horror the filmmakers would throw at them. In addition to the film, a prequel comic illustrated by artist Alfonso Ruiz will soon be available, perhaps expanding on the apocalyptic events...

Us film-maker formally charged in Venezuela over conspiracy claims
Timothy Tracy accused by officials of paying right-wing groups of provoking post-election unrest on behalf of Us intelligence

An American film-maker was formally charged late Saturday by Venezuelan officials who accuse him of paying right-wing groups to foment post-election unrest on behalf of Us intelligence.

The federal prosecutor's office said Timothy Tracy, 35, of West Hollywood, California, was charged with crimes including conspiracy, association for criminal purposes and use of a false document.

On Thursday, President Nicolas Maduro said he had personally ordered Tracy's arrest on suspicion of "creating violence in the cities of this country" in the wake of a 14 April presidential election narrowly won by the hand-picked successor to Hugo Chávez.

Opposition candidate Henrique Capriles contends the election was stolen from him by fraud, setting up post-election tensions and bitter accusations between Venezuela's government and opposition.

Friends say Tracy is an innocent, self-funded documentary film-maker with no political aims or government ties.

Venezuela accuses Us film-maker Timothy Tracy of spying
President Maduro orders Tracy's detention on suspicions that he had channelled Us money to anti-government protesters

Timothy Tracy was a little-known filmmaker until he was thrown into the international spotlight by the Venezuelan government and accused of working for Us intelligence.

President Nicolás Maduro ordered Tracy's detention on Thursday on suspicions that the 35-year-old American had channelled Us money to student protestors and instigated violent protests in the wake of the presidential election earlier this month.

Citing more than 500 videos as evidence, interior minister Miguel Rodríguez Torres said he had ample proof that Tracy was involved in seditious activities.

President Maduro said Tracy had visited several cities to promote violence and said that he personally ordered his arrest on suspicion of "creating violence in the cities of this country". But friends and associates dispute the claim that he was fomenting unrest.

Tracy, a graduate of Georgetown University, reportedly arrived in...
