The characters of April and Serena are a nod to actress Emma Roberts who portrayed April in "Palo Alto" and Serena in "American Horror Story:Cult." Writer/Director Jay Nunez is a huge fan of hers and will sometimes name female lead characters as a way to honor his appreciation for her work.
Actress Sofia Rojas goes uncredited as the character of "Katie", one of the victims in the beginning of the film. She also did the special effects makeup for herself, Cameron Lacey Walters, and Rebecca Moreira.
The sequel screenplay "To Catch A Killer 2" won Best Original Screenplay in the August 2021 edition of the Hollywood Blood Horror film festival. It is in development for a possible 2022 start date. This is the first screenplay win for writer/director Jay Nunez.
