April showers… don’t matter if you’re sat inside watching TV. The Disney Bundle™ ensures that this is possible in perpetuity, with the entire libraries of Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN available in whichever permutation serves your lifestyle.
This spring, Disney+ continues the rollout of “Daredevil: Born Again” and soon welcomes the return of “Andor” Season 2 (and achieving the rare astrological phase in which both Marvel and Star Wars are active on the streamer). Plenty of shows and movies will also join the Hulu library; the Emmy-winning original series “The Handmaid’s Tale” returns after a three-year hiatus with its sixth and final season, and FX will premiere the limited series “Dying for Sex” starring Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate (based on the podcast from Molly Kochan and Nikki Boyer).

“Elle,” the “Legally Blonde” prequel series, has found Elle’s mom.
June Diane Raphael has joined the Amazon Prime Video project as Eva, joining the previously announced Lexi Minetree as Elle. The series follows a younger Elle Woods, who was played by Reese Witherspoon in the two “Legally Blonde” films, finding her footing in high school.
“Elle” is created by Laura Kittrell, who is an executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Caroline Dries. Witherspoon is executive producing the show through her Hello Sunshine banner, alongside Lauren Neustadter and Marc Platt. The first two episodes will be directed by Jason Moore. “Elle” is produced by Hello Sunshine and Amazon MGM Studios.
The original 2001 “Legally Blonde” film was a box office success, grossing over $140 million worldwide. Its sequel, “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, and Blonde,” was released in 2003. A direct-to-video third film came out in 2009, which Witherspoon produced but did not star in.

Superman has a reputation for being unbelievably nice and understanding, but he sometimes has to flex his muscles, proving that he's far more badass than anyone gives him credit for. With his incredible powers, Superman often goes out of his way to present himself as a lot meeker than he really is. These moments demonstrate that while Superman doesn't want to flaunt how powerful he is when he lets loose, there's simply no one cooler than him.
When it comes to superheroes who are undeniably cool, most fans tend to point towards Batman. After all, he's cloaked in all black, appears from the shadows, and brutally takes down criminals. Even when Batman and Superman team up, most still seem to think that Batman is the cooler of the two - usually because Superman holds back his true power. Everyone always calls Superman a boy scout and teases him about how gentle he can be,...

Last month, it was announced that writer/producer Judalina Neira is developing a TV series reimagining of the classic sitcom Bewitched for Sony Pictures Television, aiming to turn it into an “irreverent hourlong” show. NBC clearly likes the idea of reviving Bewitched, because now Deadline has broken the news that the network has their own “Bewitched-inspired” show called Something Wicked in the works, and this one already has a star attached: June Diane Raphael, who may be best known for playing the character Brianna Hanson for the 94 episodes that make up the Netflix series Grace and Frankie, which ran for seven seasons.
Raphael is also writing and executive producing Something Wicked with Dickinson creator Alena Smith. A multi-camera comedy, the show is described as having a Bewitched-type premise and will also serve as an homage to TV sitcom classics. It examines the condition of modern adult womanhood and how even with witchcraft,...

1986 was an important year for DC Comics. "Crisis on Infinite Earths" rebooted the decades-old continuity, and Frank Miller reinvigorated Batman with "The Dark Knight Returns." Miller's tale depicted an aged Bruce Wayne coming out of retirement to fight the evils of the 1980s, from street gangs to the Cold War to Ronald Reagan. If you've ever wondered what the beginning of dark and gritty Batman was, it was this book.
The next year, DC was relaunching the main "Batman" title for the "Post-Crisis" era, and Miller was the obvious choice to kick it off. The result was "Year One," running four issues from "Batman" #404-407. The book follows Bruce Wayne's early days as a crime fighter when Gotham City was menaced by the mob, not super-villains. Batman refines his tactics through trial and error and slowly wins the trust of James Gordon — not yet a commissioner, but a rare...

A New Year means lots of removals from Netflix and January 1st is looking busy, with over 100 movies set to leave the service already. Below, we’ll be keeping track of all the Netflix departures for the first month of 2024.
First, a few housekeeping notes as to how Netflix removals work before we dive in. Due to licensing agreements, shows and movies added to Netflix aren’t added forever. Instead, they’re essentially rented for a fixed period. All the shows below have their current window on Netflix ending and will likely be bound for a rival streaming service.
We list titles slightly differently from other outlets, with our listings being the actual day of removal. If you want to watch any titles scheduled to expire on January 1st, for example, you’ll need to watch by the end of December 31st.

There’s a moment in Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” (in theaters now), where Niels Bohr, the famous Danish physicist (played by Kenneth Branagh) who developed the model of the atom, asks a young J. Robert Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy), years before he would gain notoriety and infamy as the father of the atomic bomb: “Can you hear the music?” At that specific moment, the score by composer Ludwig Göransson quite literally soars – it’s beautiful and lilting but soon turns more menacing, even ominous. In that single musical moment (clocking in at less than two minutes on the official album), the entire movie – how the scientific idealism that gives way to untold horror – elegantly unfurls. And Göransson cements himself as one of Nolan’s most essential collaborators.
TheWrap spoke to Göransson about what it was like collaborating with Nolan a second time, why it’s Ok to use electronics in the...

Oscar-winning actor Jennifer Lawrence is gunning for the laughs in raunchy comedy “No Hard Feelings.”
“I think it’s time for a good old-fashioned laugh and it really is hard to make a comedy where you’re not offending people,” Lawrence told Sky News on Wednesday. “Everybody in some sense will be offended by this film — you’re welcome.”
In the film, which is rated R in the U.S. and 15 in the U.K., Lawrence stars as a Montauk Uber driver facing bankruptcy who accepts a Craigslist ad to date and seduce an awkward 19-year-old (Andrew Barth Feldman) whose helicopter parents don’t want him leaving for college as a virgin.
“We need to be able to engage with being offended. There was and is like a big overcorrect because we realized there were so many things that we were joking about that we shouldn’t be,” Feldman told Sky News.

An Uber driver without a car, Jennifer Lawrence finds herself financially stuck in a new trailer for the R-rated comedy “No Hard Feelings.” That is, until a wealthy couple offers her a Buick Regal if she agrees to “date” their awkward 19-year-old son before he goes off to college.
“You won’t even rent your house out, but now you’re gonna rent out your vag?” one of Lawrence’s friends asks upon learning about her arrangement, to which Lawrence responds: “You have a Road Runner tattoo covering your entire back, I don’t think you should tell anybody what to do with their body.”
In the trailer, Lawrence frantically circles a high school party in search of Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman), barging into bedrooms only to find teenagers sitting on their phones. “Doesn’t anyone fuck anymore?” she asks, stupefied.

Jennifer Lawrence recently told Entertainment Weekly that she “died laughing” when reading the real-life Craigslist ad that inspired her upcoming raunchy R-rated comedy “No Hard Feelings.” Directed by Lawrence’s longtime friend Gene Stupnitsky, the film casts the Oscar-winning actor as a Montauk Uber driver facing bankruptcy who accepts a Craigslist ad to date and seduce an awkward 19-year-old (Andrew Barth Feldman). His helicopter parents don’t want him leaving for college as a virgin.
Stupnitsky and Lawrence first let it slip at CinemaCon last month that “No Hard Feelings” was based on a real-life Craigslist ad. The director told EW that it was the film’s producers, Marc Provissiero and Naomi Odenkirk, who sent him the Craigslist ad.
“I read it, and I thought, ‘This is wild. Who is the woman that answers this ad?'” Stupnitsky said. “And I thought, ‘Oh, that’ll be a great role for...

We knew something was on its way from Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski but we weren’t expecting this: a new animated movie from Warner Bros. Animation and WB Home Entertainment.
Straczynski described it as: “Classic Babylon 5: raucous, heartfelt, nonstop, a ton of fun through time and space, and a love letter to the fans.”
It might not be as well known as his comic-book work, but Straczynski actually has a background in animation – writing episodes of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, She-Ra: Princess of Power, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, Captain Power, The Real Ghostbusters, and other 1980s action favorites.
We know that Bruce Boxleitner is back – which is also fitting, as he’s got some hefty voice acting chops, reprising his most famous other science fiction role for the 2012 show Tron: Uprising – but we’re going to have to wait another week for more details.

Jennifer Lawrence Tries Everything to Sleep With a 19-Year-Old in Raunchy ‘No Hard Feelings’ Trailer
Sony has released the first trailer for the raunchy comedy “No Hard Feelings,” in which Jennifer Lawrence plays a woman who answers two helicopter parents’ Craigslist ad to sleep with their sheltered 19-year-old son before he goes to college.
The very R-rated trailer opens with Lawrence’s character Maddie approaching the awkward Percy at a dog adoption center, asking “Mind if I touch your wiener?” before revealing he’s holding a Dachshund wiener dog. On the brink of losing her childhood home, Maddie resorts to every last-ditch effort to fulfill the parents’ questionable request and sleep with Percy. She skinny dips, plies him with Long Island ice tea and, in one hilarious scene, kidnaps him in a van before getting pepper sprayed in the face.

The director behind “Booksmart” and the upcoming psychological thriller “Don’t Worry Darling” revealed to Maggie Gyllenhaal for Interview magazine (in a Q&a seemingly conducted prior to recent scandals dogging the film) that less-than-ideal past acting roles informed her directing style today.

Willig will play legendary wrestler André the Giant. André, one of the biggest stars in history of wrestling, commands respect wherever he goes. As a most unusual holiday season begins, it’s going to be harder for streaming services to demand our attention. With its new releases for December 2020, Amazon Prime is trying its best anyway.
This is actually an uncommonly jam-packed and intriguing roster of content for Bezos’s outfit. The list this month is highlighted by the release of The Expanse season 5 on Dec. 16. The beloved sci-fi series made the jump from Syfy to Amazon last year and things went well enough that it’s coming back for more. That returning show is complemented by another new genre series. The Wilds premieres on Dec. 11 and will follows a group of teenage girls lost (or Lost) on a deserted island.

Hard as it is to believe with everything going on right now, but Christmas is only about five weeks away, and the streaming market is already looking crowded. Although Netflix can probably expect to continue their dominance over subscribers through the end of 2020, Amazon Prime are releasing some notable titles for the last month of the year, including original films like I’m Your Woman and new episodes of The Expanse.
In terms of the former, it stars Rachel Brosnahan of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel in a picture about a woman who has to go on the run after her husband gets into trouble with his business partner. We’ll also be seeing the much-anticipated Sound of Metal, which features Riz Ahmed as a heavy metal drummer who develops hearing loss. Looks like Batman has gone from The Dark Knight to garbage night!
Just kidding, but with “The Batman” currently back in production in Liverpool, England, a new set photo reveals the caped crusader, or in this case his stuntman, perched atop the Royal Liver building in a prop Batsuit that looks very similar to a trash bag or similar carrying bag. Check it out below.
Batman’s cape obviously gives him the ability to glide like shown in previous films, like 2005’s “Batman Begins,” so it will be interesting to see the final end result once the cgi is added to the final shot.
The film directed by Matt Reeves will now hit theaters on March 4, 2022.
“The Batman” resumed production in the U.K. last month after a cast member tested positive for Covid-19. The film’s star, Robert Pattinson, was reported by Vanity Fair to have tested positive, though...

There’s a Ton of DC movies coming to HBO Max in July, but they aren’t necessarily the ones you expect. While the service is still dealing with a number of its most high profile titles still cycling through previously agreed on streaming deals at competitors, they’re bringing in a lot of their lesser known titles to fill in the blanks. One thing they’re doing for the moment is extending the runs of Dceu “favorites” like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League, and Suicide Squad through December.
But don’t sleep on the dozens of others on the way.
For one thing, there’s the complete set of Christopher Reeve Superman movies. While really, only two of those are any good, the first one is the greatest Superman movie of all time, and arguably the best superhero movie ever made. And while Superman III is generally quite bad,...

With production getting underway for Matt Reeves’ The Batman, we’re now learning more about what to expect from the 2021 picture. Having previously kept their cards close to their chest, Warner Bros. have today revealed the roles played by Peter Sarsgaard and Jayme Lawson in the movie, telling us that the former will portray Gotham District Attorney Gil Colson, while the latter is on board as Bella Reál, a Gotham City mayoral candidate. Both characters are new additions to the Batman universe, and will join Robert Pattinson, Colin Farrell and others in a very strong cast.
Although Sarsgaard’s casting is a bit of a surprise, after we’d previously heard that he was signed on to play corrupt cop Peter Grogan, both characters confirm that The Batman will be digging into the shady goings-on in Gotham politics. Indeed, Reál’s mayoral opponents could include Oswald Cobblepot, who’s had...

“I have one power: I never give up,” once said a Kevlar-wearing, nocturnal animal-admiring vigilante. No, it’s not Tenacious Man. I’m talking about the Batman.
I’m certainly not giving up hope yet that Matt Reeves’ upcoming re-reboot of the Bat-franchise will be anything but stellar, given the dude’s dedication to the comics and Robert Pattinson portraying a younger, noir-y version of our Dark Knight. And now, fueling my excitement even more is evidence that this movie is actually 100% underway, via a picture of a gargantuan set nearing completion.
Seen in the gallery down below is a cathedral set being built for the 2021 film. It seems to be a converted airplane shed and it’s absolutely huge. It’s also painted black all throughout and, most tantalizingly, is surrounded by blimps! Remember blimps?

John Turturro will star as Carmine Falcone in Matt Reeves’ “The Batman,” the director announced on Twitter on Friday.
Carmine Falcone first appeared in “Batman Begins” played by English actor Tom Wilkinson. The character made its debut in the comic books in the four-part story “Batman: Year One,” written by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli in 1987. In the comics, Carmine Falcone is a powerful mafia boss nicknamed “The Roman.”
Robert Pattinson is set to star as the Dark Knight. Reeves took over the directing gig after Ben Affleck stepped away from the role. With the stains and emotional scars of Batman And Robin still fresh in a lot of Batfans’ minds, there was a lot of different options for what would be the next big big screen Batflick. Each film in the Burton-Schumacher series seemingly had diminishing returns, but it was Batman And Robin that nearly killed off any more chances for Batman in the theaters.
There was still the possibility of a third Schumacher film involving Scarecrow and Harley Quinn. Another possibility was a very dark and a very different version of Year One, co-written by original author, Frank Miller and Darren Aronofsky. There was also Wolfgang Petersen’s idea for Batman Vs. Superman. But in the end, DC and Warner Brothers chose to go with the more stripped-down approach that Christopher Nolan and David Goyer had come up with. The result was The Dark Knight Trilogy.

To date, no live action Batman movie has been a strict adaptation of any specific comic book, nor have any of them drawn inspiration from a singular literary work. More often than not, directors have looked to multiple story arcs for inspiration, with classics such as The Dark Knight Returns, No Man’s Land, Year One and The Long Halloween already having been mined for material. In fact, Christopher Nolan sometimes went deeper and pulled from tales that were contained to single issues, having cited Batman #1 (1940) and “The Man Who Falls” as influencing his screenplays.
When it comes to the upcoming blockbuster that is The Batman in particular, we’ve heard in recent months that certain aspects of The Long Halloween which hadn’t been previously explored on film will be fleshed out in greater detail. Funny hasn’t equaled money this year at the nation’s multiplexes. Comedy fans seem to have largely turned to streaming fare, including Netflix romcoms, stand-up specials — and endless rewatches of “The Office.”
Universal is hoping to reverse this trend with the R-rated “Good Boys,” written by “The Office” veterans Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky and directed by Stupnitsky. It’s the story of three foul-mouthed sixth-grade boys who decide to skip school one day in order to prepare for a kissing party. Jacob Tremblay’s character borrows his father’s drone to spy on girls, a plan which backfires spectacularly.
In March, the studio returned to SXSW, as it did with “Neighbors” in 2014 and “Blockers” in 2018, to preview the nearly-completed “Good Boys.” Like last year’s “Eighth Grade,” it’s being promoted to adults, even thought it’s about 12-year-olds and the complexities of their friendship. So kids the...

Secrets of Sinister House takes us back to Red Rain Batman just in time for Halloween.
Fifth weeks are odd beasts in the comics world. They throw off the natural rhythm of comic publishing, with one book every two or four weeks, and end up stacking some months ane leaving others barren. Fortunately, comic companies have found fun and creative ways to deal with them. Like having Bill Sienkiewicz ink a John Romita Jr. drawing of Vampire Batman from Red Rain chasing down a possibly envampired Joker.
Secrets of Sinister House is, like all of DC's seasonal anthology books, 80 pages of short stories, in and out of continuity, with mix and match creative teams that let us get introduced to some new creators and duck back into favorite continuities. Included in this anthology are:
- Rafael Scavone and Rafael Albuquerque telling a story with the above-mentioned...

As per usual, the talented folks behind DC’s animated movies didn’t disappoint when announcing the following year’s slate at San Diego Comic-Con. In case you hadn’t heard, 2020 will play host to the long-awaited Superman: Red Son adaptation and Justice League Dark: Apokolips War.
Also revealed to be on the way though is that of Superman: Man of Tomorrow, which was briefly touched upon following the world premiere screening of Batman: Hush. Like the recently released Justice League vs. The Fatal Five and the upcoming Wonder Woman: Bloodlines, this is an original story and won’t be based on any comic book in particular.
At present time, not much is known about the flick other than it’ll focus on a young Man of Steel early on in his career. Normally, I’d roll my eyes because we’d be getting yet another Superman origin story or something of the like,...

If director Matt Reeves wasn’t worried about pressure from fans over his upcoming DC Comics movie “The Batman,” maybe he’d better start. Because on the first day of Comic-Con 2019, Bat-fans in San Diego told him bluntly “don’t screw up.”
The jab came Thursday during a completely unrelated panel, the 7th annual “Musical Anatomy of a Superhero” in Ballroom 20. Among the panelists in attendance was “Up” Oscar winner and composer Michael Giacchino, who in addition to scoring superhero films like “Doctor Strange” and “Spider-Man: Far From Home” also happens to be good friends with Reeves. So it is that Giacchino recorded a video for his pal, showing the huge Ballroom 20 audience shouting “Hey Matt, don’t screw up our Batman movie.”
“Nothing like a little encouragement,” Reeves said later when he posted the video on Twitter. Check it out below.

Lex Luthor is leading the charge in DC's Year of the Villain, and Justice League reveals his new look.
We are living through a little bit of a Martian Manhunter renaissance right now. On the one hand, you’ve got Steve Orlando and Riley Rossmo’s terrific “Year One”-esque take on J’onn’s time on Mars and how that shaped the man he is today in his solo miniseries, Martian Manhunter. It’s a weird, fascinating story about Martian life that, of course, looks incredible as is to be expected from Rossmo’s art.
On the other hand, you have Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV’s Justice League. It’s approaching him kind of like the Timmverse/DC Animated Universe did: he’s quietly the most important person on the team. In the cartoon, he was rarely the focus - it was always about John and Shayera’s relationship,...

This review contains spoilers.
In the past decade or so, the comic book medium sure has seen its share of Superman origin stories. Though Birthright was still fresh in our memories, that didn’t stop Secret Origin, Earth One, American Alien or Grant Morrison’s Action Comics run from happening. And while there was a connective thread of sorts, each brought something new to the table. If any of them managed to break new ground, it was most certainly American Alien, though that take is hardly getting in the last word.
Now, as part of DC’s Black Label initiative, industry legends in writer Frank Miller and artist John Romita Jr. look to leave their everlasting mark on the Last Son of Krypton’s enduring mythos with Superman: Year One. But as much as I enjoyed the stories listed above, I can’t be alone in thinking yet another examination...

Welcome back to another installment of Panel Discussion, this time featuring Dan’s top picks for this week in comics.
Before I get into what this article is I need to get into what it is not. First I am basing this list not off of my thoughts on each issue rather my expectations. Based on my knowledge of the creators, the series, and in some cases just the concepts I created a list of five comics I am most looking forward to this new comic book day.
Also, this is not a speculation article. I am not saying these comics are ‘Key’ issues you can flip in eBay. Ultimately when I walk into my local comic shop on New Comic Book Day these are the five books I am most looking forward to reading. I will try to balance it out by including some concerns I have with each issue as well.
