Kurone Kanzaki, creator of the popular isekai franchise Demon Lord, Retry!, revealed in a recent interview that the launch of the anime's newly airing sequel, Demon Lord, Retry R!, has come with a myriad of challenges, stating that "Its a miracle its even being broadcast."

The interview, posted on Kanzakis X (formerly Twitter) account, discusses the challenges of releasing the Demon Lord, Retry R! anime five years after its predecessor, Demon Lord, Retry, premiered in 2019. Kanzaki stated previously in an interview with Ln News that the delay in the series continuation came from a variety of factors, but especially due to the many "twists and turns" that came from production during Covid-19. Some summer titles, like “Tower of God” Season 2,” “Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest” and “True Beauty” are all set to continue on through the fall from their summer premieres.

But let’s get into the new series and films the anime streamer has in store. Kicking off the fall is the series debut of “Demon Lord, Retry!,” which premieres Sept. 28. Kurone Kanzaki’s sequel manga series, “The Demon Lord, Retry! R,” illustrated by Amaru Minotake, has been serialized since March 2020. The series continues the story from Kanzaki’s original light novel series, which was initially illustrated by Koji Ogata in the first edition and later by Makoto Iino in the second.

The parent series, “Demon Lord, Retry!,” has sold approximately 1.9 million copies to date. It even received a television anime adaptation in July 2019 by studio Ekachi Epilka.
