American Song Contest

If this is the best talent for each state we're doomed. It looks more like they're trying to film music videos than perform for a contest. I noticed one girl lip syncing, well let's just say her voice was playing and her lips weren't moving.

I was afraid of the results how the show will turn out when it was published.

It could have turned out worse, but it just feels like another music show from US This could be American Idol, Voice, X Factor... Exactly the same production as those... For a European, grown with Eurovision... This was cringy to watch....

Everything is very loud, chaotic and rushed. The first episode had a couple of good songs, the same could not be said about the second episode. Snoop is a bit boring and feels out of place. But the worst thing by far is Kelly Clarkson. She is beyond annoying, unfunny and LOUD! I don´t know if I will continue to watch this but if I do I will mute Kelly every time she appears on screen!

For those who are not familiar with the Eurovision Song Contest, it is a lot more fun. I suggest people check that out.

I find the background info on the states interesting but the singing was not good. I skimmed through most of it because it was so bad. I love Kelly and on the Voice she's great but here she was way too loud with both her dress and voice. Snoop just seemed awkward. The production is a bit overdone esp. On the actual stage. Too many flashy lights and dancers that distract from the actual singing. And some of the singers aren't even singing. They are lip syncing and it's obvious. Also, if someone is going to represent a state, talk about various faucets of the state, not just one or two. Indiana is definitely known for more than just the Indy race and basketball.

There is some talent here and there.. but to me it's just a silly tryhard copy of eurovision. America can't expect that stealing europe's 65 year old contest, wich is based on every country's cultures, to go very well.

Not that America has no culture. It's just that it doesn't fit like it does with Europe. It was still a very good try.
