There must be hundreds of movies like this one. The acting is good and the movie is well produced but it lacks that bit of originality to make it stand out.

The story is exactly like many other similar plotted films, the one I know dated back to 1958, an Indian Tamil-language comedy film "Sabaash Meena" - Same carefree rich hero avoiding responsibilities, get away from his dad, goes after his love as a poor family guy, swap his poor background friend in his place, confusions in climax etc, etc.. But coming to the execution, this movie did mostly same as others, but messed it up in climax... why the rush? what convinced the female lead character to forgive the male lead character? It would have taken another 5 minutes of the movie to show some scenes for the hero to convince his lover to get her back, but the movie ended abruptly without caring to tell audience why she was convinced to get back with the male lead.

The movie had fun moments, good acting, familiar story line, but with unconvincing finish.

"Ricos de Amor" charms, colored a bit different, in a classic romantic comedy setting with a very vibrant Brazil in the background. With the chemistry between leads Danilo Mesquita and Giovanna Lancellotti, this film lights up the screen with great energy. The light-hearted take on themes like love, privilege, and self-discovery furnishes some heartwarming moments. However, the plot is very predictable and draws on the typical clichés of rom-coms. This might make it feel formulaic. Tertiaries and secondary subplots often remain paper-thin, and their lack of dimension influences the impact in general. With "Ricos de Amor," the creators have had some success in light entertainment and attractive venues, but still, there is nothing of novelty or something forever remaining in viewers' minds about this genre.

It's rare to see such a low standard and cheap story. Possibly only teenagers could be happy to watch this one. Don't waste your time for this cheap movie.

Just watched this movie. I rarely watch romantic comedies. But since I'm learning portuguese, I figured this would be a good way to learn some more. But it was actually quite entertaining. The acting was good, the couple was very good looking and it was quite funny at times. If you want to watch a movie with your girlfriend for a nice evening on the couch, then this is a good one.

Unoriginal, plain and shallow love story with stereotypical beauties and handsome boys, if only for children. The actors are not bad at all. Guess, they did the best they could with this kind of worn out story line. If I was 7 and this was my first film about love, I probably would've liked it!

The two leads are very cute.

Yes it's not a heavy and strong plot, but it sure is enjoyable.

Then again rom-coms aren't supposed to be heavy, all it takes is cute faces, fun characters and some hilarious laughs to sit back and enjoy; and this one has it all.

Very attractive cast in this Brazilian romantic comedy where the tomatoe prince meets an up and coming medical school student.

Teto has a playboy reputation and he ends up making a bet with his best friend Igor, who happens to be the grounds keeper's son. The bet involves them swapping identities as they compete on an internship for a position in Teto's family's Tomato empire. Along the way Teto meets and falls for the lovely aspiring doctor Paula, who is being sexually harassed at work at the hospital. After the first day, Teto realizes that he is in way over his head and so he seeks out Monique, who has just been fired from the company for help.

The film starts out a little rough, really hits its romantic comedy stride in the middle and then is wrapped up really quickly in a "ta da" moment where everyone in the favela is growing organic tomatoes on their rooftops for money. The cast is lovely and the romantic leads do seem to have chemistry. I enjoyed a couple songs on the soundtrack...including Teto's fireside serenade.

This is a light recommendation for romantics...certainly not high on this list, but if you have run out of romantic material and you have gone through your rewatches, then maybe?

The big surprise for me was the actress Lellê who played Monique...she was lovely and did a wonderfully natural job in her role.

Good film, initial scenes filmed right here, in Paty do Alferes, during the Tomato Festival, which wrongly and grossly added a sinful war of tomatoes, which does not exist and is very sad because of the waste ... The story is silly, but cute, the exchange scenes are disrupted and therefore fun, nice to watch ... I loved the "Ceiling Fresco" project, it could be real ..

If you want an extraterrestrial romance with mutants, full of suspense and drama, gay scenes, bad endings, know that this is not the type of film. This is a very well directed film, with a well-structured plot, beautiful landscapes, a cute and current romance, a beautiful touch of innovation on the prince's side, contrasting little-explored scenarios in the interior of Rio de Janeiro. A film that makes us smile and makes our day lighter. The first thing that makes me think when I see the negative reviews, are the envy of those who are not happy with a hetero couple and so many happy endings ...

Ricos del amor: this is very typical rom com story such what we can see locally I our Greek TV since the 60s.

This goes one step further.

A typical rich teenager who lived offering the good party with 'chicks' and now in the time to better manage his life. In a tomato party he falls in love with a nice and more mature girl and lives a new romantic life with her until something happens and everything turns up to down after something compulsive His closest friend a poor guy adds ice to the story as co-actor.

I was very much impressed with this movie 8.5/10 Part of the rating goes to the excellent landscapes th good 'filming' and the high very high resolution 4K! (the 2 points belong to them).
