I have to admit I was not expecting much out of General Hospital: Night Shift but I was pleasantly surprised. The acting was mostly good and it was a pleasure to see Billy Dee Williams in something. I'm a fan of many of his movies. Bingo Long and the Traveling All-Stars, Star Wars movies, and of course Lady Sings the Blues. I also like the new nurses, they are hot hot hot!
I like the pace of the show. Glad it doesn't have too many stories that drag on for weeks or months like GH stories used to. The show also has a good sense of humor like Maxie dumping bedpans as punishment. That Spinelli guy is annoying thought. I hope one of the future story lines is that Spenelli is diagnosed with ADHD and gets some Ritalin and starts to talk more normal.
The first show was good but there is room for improvement.

General Hospital: Night Shift,Wish they would of kept going. I watched it was addicted. Be nice if they would bring back good show and I like it better than General Hospital. More hospital work, more reasonable relationships.
Billy Dee Williams has made Night Shift so surprising and wonderful to follow. I do wish though that the continuity with the daytime GE would flow better. I just hope the teasing they have done with his character does not bring fruit to his demise. Please don't kill him off. The bond between Toussaint and Epiphany is too special to be broken. Please don't leave a trail of broken hearts!
Jason has always had a part of my heart too. I love "Jackal" also. Their friendship flows from day to night. Although his character's love interest does not flow, from "the fair one" Lulu to the blonde nurse breaking his innocence.
And when are they going to reveal Brenda?????

I don't know why anyone would give this show a positive review. The plots have inconsistent continuity from one week to the next, the dialog is mediocre at best. The character development is nearly nonexistent, and some characters are just unbearable. "The Jackal" and his ridiculous way of speaking is almost physically painful. Even the characters I recognize from when I watched the daily General Hospital (it's been several months since I've tuned in) seem shallow and one-dimensional.
At this point, I just keep watching to see how bad it's going to get. It's like watching a train wreck - so awful, but hard to turn away from. I gave it a whopping two stars just for that reason - sustaining my morbid curiosity.
And seriously, this mysterious burn victim storyline should either go somewhere or go away. She just lays in bed or wanders around adding nothing to the show. It's so tiring it's lost any possibility of being mysterious.

As many viewers of General Hospital have noticed, it's become quite awful. The story lines are dumb, and characters are being destroyed. So when I heard of its upcoming spin-off I was skeptical. I did not think I could take another blow to the characters I love so much. How ever when I tuned in to watch I discovered General Hospital the way I like it. I get to watch my favorite characters behave in a way I love to see them. Not to mention the sense of humor the show has! I wish the regular soap opera would take some tips from Night Shift. The stories are compelling and interesting, plus its way hotter than the boring regular soap. I love the new show, and its worth watching. I would suggest it to any disappointed GH fan!
