Unlike others who had read the book and waited for this movie, I am from Vietnam and I hadn't hear about the book. Going in blind into this movie, I can say I found it pretty sweet and cute. Unlike cheesy drama and high-fi dresses and colorful scenes, the movie did good keeping itself real and nostalgic. The story may not be unique but it surely is worth it. I didn't see the end coming it that way which makes it different from other romantic movies. If you are into 'real' and 'ordinary' lifestyle of Asian students in majority in addition to a sweet and heart-warming story, this is the place. You will not regret it. Give it a try!
