Former James Bond actor Daniel Craig reflects on how he dealt with his newfound fame following the release of Casino Royale in 2006. After Die Another Day in 2002, Craig was chosen as Pierce Brosnan's replacement, a decision that was initially met with a great deal of skepticism. Martin Campbell's Casino Royale was an undeniable hit critically and commercially, however, and Craig went on to play 007 four more times, bidding farewell to the franchise with the explosive No Time To Die ending in 2021.

During a recent interview with The New Yorker, Craig reflects on the period of his life immediately following the release of Casino Royale. "I was really rocked by it," Craig says, "Really rocked." Craig recalls the pendulum swing from nobody thinking he was right for the part to everyone loving Casino Royale, using the experience to speak more broadly about his loss of privacy and anonymity:

MGM is releasing a documentary short film called “Being James Bond” about how Daniel Craig specifically transformed into 007, and in a first teaser for the film, Craig explains how he was “overwhelmed” by the role and was eager to change.

“I thought I wouldn’t know how to handle it, but I knew we were doing something really special. I literally met my trainer with a rolly and a bacon sandwich and I said, I want to change,” Craig says in the clip. “I was so overwhelmed. My world had turned upside down. But I’m incredibly proud and I’m incredibly fortunate to do this.”

Hollywoodnews.com: The word on “Like Crazy” out of Sundance this year was that it’s the film that broke the most hearts. Felicity Jones emerged from last winter’s festival as a talent to pay attention to. That’s why she’ll be honored with the “New Hollywood Award” at this year’s 15th Annual Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Film Awards.

This year’s ceremony, presented by Starz Entertainment, is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 24, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Jones will accept the award for her work in “Crazy,” a long-distance love affair co-starring Anton Yelchin that was co-written and directed by Drake Doremus.

Paramount Vantage plans to open “Like Crazy” in theaters on Oct. 28.

British actress Miriam Karlin has died at the age of 85 following a battle with cancer.

The A Clockwork Orange star passed away at a London hospital on Friday and the news was confirmed by Equity actors' union spokesman Martin Brown, who called Karlin a "wonderful actress" and a "marvellous friend".

Karlin began her career on the stage but made a transfer to onscreen roles in films such as The Entertainer, The Millionairess and a part in British TV show The Rag Trade. She also appeared in Stanley Kubrick's 1971 classic A Clockwork Orange as a woman murdered by Malcolm McDowell's onscreen character.

She was bestowed with an Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1975 and made her last film appearance in 2008 opposite Daniel Craig in Flashbacks of a Fool.

Miriam Karlin has died at the age of 85. The actress, best known for her roles as Paddy in sitcom The Rag Trade and the cat lady in Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange, passed away in St John's Hospital, London today after a battle with cancer. The actor Miriam Karlin, who has died of cancer aged 85, became famous in the early 1960s as Paddy, the militant shop steward of a London clothing firm in the BBC television comedy series The Rag Trade. As Paddy, who was always willing to signal a strike with a whistle and her catchphrase "Everybody out!", Karlin was watched by millions, and quoted by millions. But neither that success, nor her more serious roles on stage, removed the gnawing dissatisfaction she felt at not achieving something more serious. She channelled some of that feeling into promoting broadly leftwing causes as a member of the council of the actors' union Equity, and as a campaigner for the Anti-Nazi League, the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament and Soviet Jewry.

Just a few days after news emerged that Robert Downey Jr. had left Cowboys & Aliens (for Sherlock Holmes 2) comes the news that James Bond himself, Daniel Craig, may take his place in the lead role. A millionaire homeowner has won his battle for compensation over damage caused during the filming of Daniel Craig movie Flashbacks Of A Fool.

Businessman Glen Haysman was awarded $140,000 (GBP85,000) from Mrs Rogers Films Ltd on Tuesday at the High Court in London.

He had hired out his $3.25 million (GBP2 million) home in Hertfordshire, southern England, to the production company behind the 2008 film, but later claimed heavy vehicles had sunk into the driveway, and ceilings and wallpaper were destroyed as the crew went 'hell for leather' filming scenes.

Following the court win, Mr Haysman said: "I have been put through so much unnecessary stress. It has been 15 months of torment. Once they told me they'd pay for any damage they couldn't have cared less."...

Harry Eden and newcomer Angie Ruiz will star opposite Daniel Craig in the coming-of-age indie Flashbacks of a Fool.

Penned by Baillie Walsh, the film centers on an aging movie star (Craig) who returns to his English seaside hometown for the funeral of his childhood best friend. He experiences flashbacks of his younger years and a summer that resulted in a tragedy that changed his life forever. Eden will play the younger version of Craig's character.

The film, which marks music video director Walsh's feature helming debut, is shooting in South Africa and England.

Left Turn Films is producing. Lene Bausager, Damon Bryant and Claus Clausen will serve as producers, and Craig is executive producing.

Eden, whose credits include the Keira Knightley starrer Pure and Land of the Blind opposite Ralph Fiennes, most recently starred as the Artful Dodger in Roman Polanski's Oliver Twist. He is repped by ICM, ICM London and Melanie Greene Management.
