Comedian and children’s author David Walliams has drawn widespread condemnation, including from the BBC, for making two Nazi salutes during a recording of panel show Would I Lie To You? earlier this week.
The Times first reported that Walliams, also a former judge on Britain’s Got Talent, made the gestures during a segment in which another panellist joked about injuring their wrist while waving.
The audience at Pinewood Studios, where the show’s Christmas special was being filmed on Tuesday, was reportedly shocked when Walliams joined in to mimic the waves before holding his arm in a Nazi salute.
A journalist called Sebastian Topan contacted the BBC to describe the incident. “Some other panellist was talking when David Walliams started doing the Nazi salute,” Topan told BBC News. “I was shocked at what I had seen… [There were] patches of quietened gasps and awkward half-laughs and broken clapping.”

The BBC has blasted David Walliams, the British comedian and children’s author, for making two Nazi salutes while recording the Christmas special of the comedy panel show ‘Would I Lie To You?’ at Pinewood Studios on Tuesday.
Walliams made the gestures during a segment in which “Call The Midwife” actor Helen George was telling a story about injuring their wrist while waving, according to the BBC. The incident was reported to the BBC by Times Radio producer Sebastian Topan, who was in the audience.
Both the BBC and the show’s production company, the Banijay-owned banner Zeppotron, denounced Walliams’ gestures as “completely unacceptable” and said the segment would not air.
“The use of such an offensive gesture is completely unacceptable and we apologize to all at the recording for the offence caused,” a BBC spokesperson said.

David Walliams has been condemned by the BBC after he allegedly performed a Nazi salute during the recording of hit comedy panel show Would I Lie To You?.
The BBC said the gesture was “completely unacceptable” and apologized to audience members if they were offended by the incident during the filming of a Christmas special. Walliams’ rep has been contacted for comment.
The Times of London, which first reported the story, said Walliams raised his arm to perform the salute as Call The Midwife actress Helen George attempted to convince panelists that she sustained a wrist sprain “from waving too much” during a Strictly Come Dancing tour.
Sebastian Topan, a Times Radio producer who was in the audience, said Little Britain star Walliams twice made the gesture during the recording at Pinewood. “Some other panellist was talking when David Walliams started doing the Nazi salute,” Topan told BBC News. “I...

Simon Cowell has once again come under the Internet’s scrutiny – not for his Got Talent series but for his ever-changing looks. The X-Factor and Got Talent series boss recently shared a video celebrating the final of Britain’s Got Talent, but the video stood out for a completely different reason.
While the 65-year-old reality mogul shared his enthusiasm for the Bgt final, online fans could focus on only one thing, and that’s his appearance. Several social media users commented on how different Cowell looked in his appearance, while accusing him of going too far with Ozempic or surgery, or both.

Simon Cowell and Sofía Vergara are back for another season of America’s Got Talent on NBC, but this is no ordinary season; this is the landmark 20th season of the talent competition.
The two judges talked to Deadline about how they approach the show, with Cowell telling us he gets “very nervous before we start filming the first day.”
Cowell told us that after filming on the first day he thinks “it’s over,” but when day two comes, “you have these moments … when you just go, ‘Oh my God, where did you come, up.”
Vergara added that as judges they’re “always surprised, which is super weird because you think think after 20 years, I mean, I’ve only been [doing it for] six seasons…”
Cowell interjects jokingly, adding, “I thought it was six minutes.”
After the duo laughed it off, Vergara continued, “It feels amazing to be surprised because we’ve seen it all.

America’s Got Talent Season 20 just premiered on NBC, with Mel B returning to judge the show after six years. The Spice Girl replaced Heidi Klum, who left the show after the last season. Mel B will join Simon Cowell, Sofía Vergara, and Howie Mandel to judge the wide variety of performances. However, things are not going to go smoothly according to a prediction.
This particular prediction comes from psychic astrologer Inbaal Honigman and concerns the two current female judges on the show. Honigman doesn’t see it in the stars for Vergara to get along with Klum’s replacement. Here’s what Honigman had to share about the AGT judges.

America’s Got Talent Season 20 is set to air on NBC in a matter of hours. The show was created by Simon Cowell, who also serves as one of the judges. Cowell was previously a judge on American Idol before he turned to judging a wide range of performers instead of just musicians. In 2019, Terry Crews joined as the host of the show, replacing Tyra Banks.
As the creator and judge on the show, Cowell makes a jaw-dropping amount of money from the show. Meanwhile, Crews makes considerably less from his hosting gig. Previous long-time host Nick Cannon was earning $70,000 per episode during his final season on the show, making Crews’ salary probably lower than that.

America’s Got Talent has proven to be one of the most entertaining and immersive reality television shows to date, and it’s not done amusing fans just yet. Even after raging on the screens for nineteen seasons spread over nearly two decades, the fan-favorite series is all set to return to the screens with season 20, its newest addition.
This time around, too, a star-studded panel of judges is all set to return to judge some of the most extraordinary talents of the country and choose a winner. But before you set foot in the twentieth season’s universe, you might as well want to revisit the dangerously disastrous moment from America’s Got Talent: Extreme, which ended in a real emergency.

Fremantle’s first quarter revenue fell 5.6% as the Got Talent maker’s parent Rtl blamed “budget cuts at broadcasters and streamers.”
Sales were down to €373M ($418M) in the three months to March this year. The figure for the same period in 2024 was €395M.
The falls were partially offset by the acquisition of France-based Asacha Media Group, which added the likes of Death in Paradise producer Red Planet, Arrow Media and Italy’s Stand By Me into the Fremantle fold.
Fremantle will be expecting a stronger Q2, when it launches the 20th season of America’s Got Talent on NBC, the 18th season of Britain’s Got Talent on ITV and the 14th season of Italia’s Got Talent on Disney+, the 15th season of Death in Paradise from Red Planet Pictures on the BBC as well as the films Pillion and My Father’s Shadow from Element Pictures.

It’s been almost 15 years since Simon Cowell left American Idol, and the show’s producers are said to be yearning to find a new ‘bad guy’ to take his place on the judging panel. According to The U.S. Sun, Idol executives are searching for a new judge who can harshly criticise auditionees like Cowell once did. Cowell, who served as a judge on the reality competition show alongside Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson from 2002 to 2010, was known for his blunt and sometimes cruel feedback. After Cowell left the show to focus on America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent, Idol tried out various judges, including Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr. However, none of those combinations truly clicked, and the show was put on hiatus in 2016. Idol returned on March 11, 2018, when a revival of the series began airing on ABC. The...

The newest episode of Doctor Who, called Lux, had very low overnight ratings. Only 1.58 million people watched it on BBC One on Saturday night, 19th April. This is the lowest number ever for the show. It’s also the first time the overnight viewers dropped below 2 million.
This is a big drop from last week’s episode, The Robot Revolution, which had about 2 million viewers. Lux was only the fourth most-watched show on BBC One that day. It came behind News at Ten, Casualty, and Blankety Blank.
But there’s more to the story. These numbers only count people who watched the live TV broadcast. Many people now watch shows later on BBC iPlayer, or on their phones, tablets, or smart TVs. Those full numbers, called “consolidated ratings,” will come out later.

Kate Middleton joined her husband, Prince William, King Charles and Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester yesterday for the annual Commonwealth Day Services.
This Year’s Commonwealth Day Marked The 80th Anniversary Of The End Of World War II
The commemorations marked the 80th centenary of the ending of the Second World War and it was a celebration of the Family of Nations, which is how the Commonwealth is often described.
It was the first time the Princess of Wales attended the event since her cancer treatment. Kate looked radiant and dignified as usual as she walked with William. She was wearing a bold red Catherine Walker Beau Tie coat dress, which featured a fashionable bow.
Her jewelry was also notable as she accessorized with pearl earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana. She also wore the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Japanese pearl choker.

On a chilly east London evening at the 2025 Brit Awards, U.S. native Sabrina Carpenter opened the night flanked by the King’s Guard.
As always, the “Short n’ Sweet” star dazzled with a sparkling corset bodysuit, impeccable vocals and salacious dance moves (so salacious, in fact, that viewers threatened to complain to the country’s communications regular, Ofcom). Renditions of Espresso and Bed Chem were aptly anglicized by giant union jacks cascading either side of the O2 Arena stage.
The Hollywood Reporter was seated at the U.K.’s biggest music awards show. Later on in the night, Carpenter received the Brits’ first-ever global success award. “In a very primarily tea-drinking country you guys streamed the shit out of Espresso,” she laughed. “And you’ve really understood my dry sense of humor because your sense of humor is so dry. So, I love y’all more than you even understand.

It’s been more than 15 years since Susan Boyle went viral after her singing debut on Season 3 of Britain’s Got Talent. Her talent took her all the way to the end of the competition, where she finished as the runner-up. Boyle quickly became a prime example of why you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. Just because she was older than the average Bgt contestant and didn’t physically look like someone who might be an international superstar in the making, it didn’t mean that she wasn’t. But was it a fleeting moment, or did it last? Scroll down for everything we know about what Boyle is up to today. Where is Susan Boyle now? Exclusive: If you’ve been anywhere near social media in the past couple of weeks, you will be familiar with José Carlos Montoya. He’s the Spanish hunk making the desperate charge across a moonlit beach to confront his girlfriend as she slips between the sheets with another man. It’s the clip that spawned the “Montoya, por favor!” viral sensation, bringing together in meme-union Whoopi Goldberg, New York Nicks star Josh Hart, and Netflix’s social admin.
Viewed more than 320M times across two Twitter/X accounts alone, Montoya’s mad dash is a cinematic moment that originates from La Isla de las Tentaciones, also known as Spain’s version of Temptation Island. Montoya was just five years old when Temptation Island was first conceived on Fox in 2001 and the show is in its eighth season in Spain, meaning the format is well-drilled to deliver high drama.

Prime Video is shifting a greater share of its overall TV spend to Britain, according to Amazon UK boss Chris Bird.
Bird was speaking on a Royal Television Society (Rts) panel predicting the year in UK TV, alongside the likes of Fremantle UK boss Amelia Brown, who said the industry has “lost its guts a bit” when it comes to taking risks.
Bird said Amazon commissioning budgets are “really healthy and strong” this year in Britain despite American contraction, and “as we go forward a greater share of investment at global level is centered here in the UK.” Last year, Amazon initiated a major international restructure that saw layoffs in the Africa and Mena regions as focus shifted to Europe, although there were also some European firings amid the downturn.

Amanda Holden, known for her daring figure-hugging dresses, braved the cold Blackpool weather in a flirty pink ensemble before taping a Britain’s Got Talent episode at the Winter Gardens.
Other judges, including Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Bruno Tonioli, and hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, were all wrapped in heavy coats for the Saturday taping. But Holden defied the freezing temperatures in a low-cut corset dress. At one point, though, she was seen with a pink coat casually draped over her shoulders.

Following Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey and its recent - and much more positively-received - sequel, the third instalment in the Twisted Childhood Universe, aka the "Poohniverse," is set to hit theaters on January 13 for a three-day run before heading to streaming at a later date, and we now have some new stills from Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare courtesy of EW.
The previously-released poster and teaser gave us a first look at this evil incarnation of "The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up" himself, and these promo images spotlight rather terrifying new takes on Captain Hook and Tinkerbell.
According to director Scott Chambers, Tink has been reimagined as a biologically born male named Timmy, who Pan keeps in line by feeding "pixie dust."
“She didn't fit the criteria to actually be sent fully to Neverland,” Chambers explains. “Then he says, however, you can be something else. You can be this fairy,...

Spoiler Alert: This story gives away details of the second season of Netflix’s Squid Game.
Paul Potts used to sell cellphones at a British store called Carphone Warehouse before he won the first season of Britain’s Got Talent.
He is not someone you expect to be soundtracking a bloody game of Russian roulette in the second season of Netflix’s Squid Game.
But it is his version of Nessun Dorma, an aria from the final act of Giacomo Puccini’s Turandot – a song popularized by Luciano Pavarotti during the 1990 FIFA World Cup – that plays over the violent subplot in the first episode of the Korean drama series.
In the opening episode of the sophomore season, Lee Jung-Jae’s Gi-Hun is searching for The Salesman, played by Train to Busan star Gong Yoo, who works as a recruiter for the Squid Games, playing Ddakji with them to get them to...

Though The Game Awards have received a lot of attention this week, many of the announcements made during the associated Day of the Devs presentation deserve a spotlight as well. The hour-long showcase highlighted several indie titles that players can expect to see released in 2025 and beyond, spanning a slew of different genres from shooters and sims to puzzle and party games. The presentation as a whole featured 20 different titles, and while they all looked creative and promising in their own right, there were some that truly stood out.
Day of the Devs was originally founded in 2012 by DoubleFine, the developer behind games like the Psychonauts series, and iam8bit, a merchandising company known for its products like special edition game releases and video game soundtrack vinyls. It began with the aim of showcasing indie developers at no cost, connecting them with potential collaborators and highlighting new projects, and officially became a nonprofit this year.

Armie Hammer’s gradual return to Hollywood continues, we can reveal, with a cameo appearance in a new music video from actress and singer Georgina Leahy.
Hammer appears fleetingly in the pop track as a character called “Kannibal Ken” according to the song’s official YouTube credits. The song, titled Typical Squeeze, is about a rebellious woman who is not a “safe bet, good girl or typical squeeze.” “Everybody’s got a little wild side,” claims the song’s lyrics.
As we revealed in October, Hammer is making a return to acting for the first time in three years with western Frontier Crucible. The Social Network, Lone Ranger and Call Me By Your Name actor has also launched The Armie HammerTime Podcast.
The actor’s A-list Hollywood career was derailed back in 2021 when multiple women came forward with claims of abuse against him. Some accused Hammer of sharing sexual fantasies with them that involved cannibalism.

Well, this certainly explains a lot of things. There’s a lot of people on both sides of the pond who believe that Queen Camilla might be acting quite like the snobby queen of England. And no, that’s not a good thing at all. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
Is Queen Camilla Being A Snobby Queen Of England?
According to a new report, Queen Camilla made it pretty clear that she wasn’t sad at all about missing the Royal Variety this year. That’s because it’s not exactly “her thing.”
Per the Daily Beast, Buckingham Palace says that Queen Camilla was suffering from a chest infection but she wasn’t all too upset about missing the famously ‘middle-brown’ live show that mostly had people like winners from Britain’s Got Talent.
Of course, the internet certainly did have a lot to say about the matter.

Their ally, castmate, and Nurys’ boyfriend, Horacio Gutierrez, was among the group, running shirtless as viewers have seen him do during MTV’s competition series.

Simon Cowell, co-creator of One Direction and the first music producer to sign the boy band, has said the death of Liam Payne has left him feeling “empty”.
The globally successful band formed of Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik was born on Cowell’s reality show, The X-Factor, in 2010.
Together with Nicole Scherzinger, Cowell selected the boys from the groups of aspiring singers and mentored the band throughout the competition. After finishing third, the music mogul signed them to his label Syco Records where they went on to sell over 70 million records.
Following the shock death of Payne at age 31 in Buenos Aires on Wednesday, there was an outpouring of grief across the music industry and beyond. Cowell also cancelled filming for Britain’s Got Talent. He wrote on Instagram Friday: “You never really know how you feel about someone until something like this happens.”
