Comedian and children’s author David Walliams has drawn widespread condemnation, including from the BBC, for making two Nazi salutes during a recording of panel show Would I Lie To You? earlier this week.

The Times first reported that Walliams, also a former judge on Britain’s Got Talent, made the gestures during a segment in which another panellist joked about injuring their wrist while waving.

The audience at Pinewood Studios, where the show’s Christmas special was being filmed on Tuesday, was reportedly shocked when Walliams joined in to mimic the waves before holding his arm in a Nazi salute.

A journalist called Sebastian Topan contacted the BBC to describe the incident. “Some other panellist was talking when David Walliams started doing the Nazi salute,” Topan told BBC News. “I was shocked at what I had seen… [There were] patches of quietened gasps and awkward half-laughs and broken clapping.”

The BBC has blasted David Walliams, the British comedian and children’s author, for making two Nazi salutes while recording the Christmas special of the comedy panel show ‘Would I Lie To You?’ at Pinewood Studios on Tuesday.

Walliams made the gestures during a segment in which “Call The Midwife” actor Helen George was telling a story about injuring their wrist while waving, according to the BBC. The incident was reported to the BBC by Times Radio producer Sebastian Topan, who was in the audience.

Both the BBC and the show’s production company, the Banijay-owned banner Zeppotron, denounced Walliams’ gestures as “completely unacceptable” and said the segment would not air.

“The use of such an offensive gesture is completely unacceptable and we apologize to all at the recording for the offence caused,” a BBC spokesperson said.

Simon Cowell and Sofía Vergara are back for another season of America’s Got Talent on NBC, but this is no ordinary season; this is the landmark 20th season of the talent competition.

The two judges talked to Deadline about how they approach the show, with Cowell telling us he gets “very nervous before we start filming the first day.”

Cowell told us that after filming on the first day he thinks “it’s over,” but when day two comes, “you have these moments … when you just go, ‘Oh my God, where did you come, up.”

Vergara added that as judges they’re “always surprised, which is super weird because you think think after 20 years, I mean, I’ve only been [doing it for] six seasons…”

Sales were down to €373M ($418M) in the three months to March this year. The figure for the same period in 2024 was €395M.

Following Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey and its recent - and much more positively-received - sequel, the third instalment in the Twisted Childhood Universe, aka the "Poohniverse," is set to hit theaters on January 13 for a three-day run before heading to streaming at a later date, and we now have some new stills from Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare courtesy of EW.

Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare gives a dark new spin on a classic fairy tale. Ahead of the film’s theatrical release next week, Jagged Edge Productions and ITN Studios have unveiled new images of the “Poohniverse” version of Tinkerbell and Hook.

Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare gets a limited theatrical release for three days only, from January 13, 2025, until January 15, 2025, from Iconic Events Releasing.

The horror film follows “Wendy Darling as she strikes out in an attempt to rescue her brother Michael from the clutches of the evil Peter Pan, who intends to send him to Neverland. Along the way she meets a twisted Tinkerbell, who is hooked on what she thinks is fairy dust.”

Armie Hammer’s gradual return to Hollywood continues, we can reveal, with a cameo appearance in a new music video from actress and singer Georgina Leahy.

Newman’s friend Matthew Felker — who directed the recent Hulu docuseries After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun — shared the news and cause of death with People.com, adding that Newman died “surrounded by his family and friends.”

We now know the cause of death for 16 and Pregnant alum Autumn Crittendon, who passed away in July.

Crittendon died of a drug overdose, according to the Virginia Department of Health, TMZ reports. The official cause of death was toxicity from fentanyl and para-fluorofentanyl, both synthetic opioids, and her manner of death was listed as accidental. The mother of three was just 27 years old.

Simon Cowell, co-creator of One Direction and the first music producer to sign the boy band, has said the death of Liam Payne has left him feeling “empty”.

The globally successful band formed of Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik was born on Cowell’s reality show, The X-Factor, in 2010.

Together with Nicole Scherzinger, Cowell selected the boys from the groups of aspiring singers and mentored the band throughout the competition. After finishing third, the music mogul signed them to his label Syco Records where they went on to sell over 70 million records.

Following the shock death of Payne at age 31 in Buenos Aires on Wednesday, there was an outpouring of grief across the music industry and beyond. Cowell also cancelled filming for Britain’s Got Talent. He wrote on Instagram Friday: “You never really know how you feel about someone until something like this happens.”
