There were dozens, if not hundreds, of films speaking of prize fighting, some better than the others; There were pure, handsome movies; RAGING BULL, SET UP, THE CHAMPION, and batches of lesser ones. This one will rapidly be forgotten for me, the only interesting thing here is that there is no superhero. No winner at the end. Not as you may expect. This feature is not lousy, it doesn't deserve the ratings above. But, please, try to purchase the oldies from the forties, you won't regret it.

A fratricidal duel, which does not boast of a special script, but rather a story accessible to experts in c-class cinema. The main duo of actors did not show off any great acting, but rather getting lost on the set of the film, at some moments I thought they did not know where they were. However, bypassing the acting, the worst point of this film is directing and cinematography, or rather shots that are AA watchable.

Actors are so bad, they make Jean Claude Van Damme look like Robert De Niro.

Unluckily another Polish flop. Wasted potential of a very promising actor (Stramowski), wasted potential of MMA genre which is still fresh on Polish market. To put it in a few words, bad screenplay, lacking plot, illogical storyline with many gaps, wooden acting. On the bright side it's good that Polish cinema starts with subjects like MMA but on the other hand wasn't it just for money?

The directorial debut was rather low, but as we know, sometimes you have to start with something weak to climb the heights of genius. After average directing, the big drawback of the film is the lack of well-played roles of actors and the script, which is made without any sense. The worst thing we will see in this production are photos that are taken tragically, shots are ill-considered and not pleasant to watch, the rest is at medium minus.

Polish cinema relies on genre films with great enthusiasm and rightly so.

In this film, Piotr STRAMOWSKI impresses as an MMA fighter who, for various reasons, takes on a fight with the reigning boxing world champion (Mikolaj ROZNERSKI as "Pretty Boy"). Of course there are rivalries from the past, courting the beautiful Agata (Aleksandra SZWED) and the usual macho stuff.

As a film about a fighter, the genre is of course not reinvented, but it is used to tell the story of contemporary Poland. Differences between the hip city of Warsaw and the village misery of the forest Carpathians, the conflict between the cool climbers and those left behind in their hometown. Then of course violence, lack of prospects and the omnipresent drugs come into play. Even if the set pieces are not new, you can learn a lot more about life in Germany's neighboring country than in the daily news.

The actors are fresh and very committed, we also liked Katarzyna MACIAG as a doctor, Karol OSENTOWSKI as her brother who got into drug trouble and Daniel KUCZAJ as a lumberjack who was hopelessly in love, at least initially.

Not a masterpiece, but a solid fight film that NETFLIX brought out of the deep forests of the Subcarpathians!
