The first images from Mortal Kombat 2, debuted by EW, reveal “The Boys” star Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, a fan-favorite character from the video game franchise.
The photos also show Adeline Rudolph (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”) as Kitana, Hiroyuki Sanada returning as Scorpion, and bodybuilder Martyn Ford (“The Sandman”) as antagonist Shao Kahn.
“You finally get to see Johnny Cage,” Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon tells EW. “His integration into the Mortal Kombat story and universe is a big part of what this movie explores. He’s a washed-up Hollywood guy thrown into this magical, ultra-violent thing.
“Karl, his depiction of Johnny Cage is different than our games in some ways. He’s adding his own flare to it, but I think it’ll feel fresh. There’s like a novelty factor in there.”

In response to the Covid pandemic, Warner Bros. gave all of their 2021 films day-and-date theatrical and Max streaming releases – and one movie that really benefited from the streaming side of that strategy was the video game adaptation Mortal Kombat, released in April of 2021. As reported by Business Insider, Mortal Kombat had the best weekend of any of the Warner Bros. releases on Max, with a total of 3.8 million viewers during its first few days. In addition to that, the film, which cost $55 million to make, earned $83.6 million at the global box office. So, within months of its release, Warner Bros. was already developing sequels and spinoffs. The first follow-up will be making its way into theatres sometime in 2025 – and here’s everything we know about Mortal Kombat 2.

For years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has enthralled audiences around the world on the big screen. But in recent years, it has taken the adventures to the small one too, entertaining us from the comfort of our own homes with cutting edge adventures that are still worthy of the biggest screen imaginable.
With the launch of the Disney Plus streaming service back in 2019, major franchises like Marvel, Star Wars, and Disney itself were able to produce multi-episode adventures to appeal to both the established audience of each brand and new viewers along the way. It was a new way of reaching people - or, rather, an old way of reaching people via a new method.

Oscar Isaac plays a mercenary-turned-superhero with mystic powers in Moon Knight, which has a darker tone just like Bernthal’s series. Bernthal is involved in the creative process of the new television special, co-writing it with Reinaldo Marcus Green. The show will debut in 2026 alongside a second season of Daredevil: Born Again.

The internet has spoken, and it has only one request: Kevin Feige needs to give us Oscar Isaac and Pedro Pascal in the MCU—together! After a new photo of these two handsome, chaotic men hugging, took over X (formerly Twitter), fans are convinced they look like a newlywed couple, who deserve a collab in the MCU.

Jon Bernthal’s return to the role of Frank Castle in Daredevil: Born Again was just one of the high points of Marvel’s revival of the former Netflix-based Defenders Saga. Now, not only is The Punisher part of the MCU, he is bringing back the same brutal, no-holds-barred approach to dealing with things that made the character one of Marvel’s most violent and controversial characters. Bernthal is also getting his own Disney+ special, but anyone expecting that things could be toned down for that shouldn’t worry.
Bernthal appeared at SXSW to support the premiere of The Accountant 2, and while there he spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about his Marvel Studios return and what it means to him to be back playing Frank Castle again. He said:

It was recently revealed that Moon Knight will return, albeit not in a second season of his TV series. On the plus side, other plans are being put in place for Marc Spector, Steven Grant, and Jake Lockley; what they are has yet to be revealed by Marvel Studios.
If a new report from The Cosmic Circus is to be believed, then - as we know many of you suspected - Moony will next take centre stage in the planned Midnight Sons movie. Or perhaps even Daredevil: Born Again!
The site bases that on having learned of plans for Moon Knight's next story to be set in New York, so we'll see what happens. Midnight Sons ultimately seems more likely than Daredevil: Born Again reintroducing the deranged superhero as a vigilante would be far from a bad thing. After all, many of his best comic book stories have taken place in a street-level setting.

You don't even have to be a Marvel fan to know that there are two major Avengers movies on the horizon. Whenever the Avengers reunite on the silver screen, it's a game-changing event that will bring out crowds of people - many of whom don't regularly keep up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe but still feel like they need to witness the must-see events in these films. That's the power of the MCU, and the power of the Avengers, for you.
The titular team of superheroes will reunite for their fifth and sixth movies when Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars arrives in movie theaters in 2026 and 2027, respectively. But these two promise to be even more larger than life than their four predecessors, as they are expected to bring back familiar faces from both the MCU and the multiverse in general, perhaps resulting in an incredibly large movie cast for both films.

The multiverse is collapsing, and there's no conventional way to save it. Unfortunately, that means opportunistic antagonists will look for twisted ways in which reality can be preserved, and Doctor Doom will be among them. In 2026 the Marvel Cinematic Universe will face its biggest threat yet during the events of Avengers: Doomsday. Worlds will collide and sacrifices will be made. So the best chance to stop the madness is for iconic heroes to come together and fight against the common enemy. However, The Avengers disbanded after the departure of Iron Man, Steve Rogers, and Natasha Romanoff, and now it's up to Sam Wilson to pick up the pieces.

With the first two episodes now available to stream on DisneyPlus, Daredevil: Born Again is the long-awaited reboot-slash-continuation of the acclaimed Marvel superhero show that originally ran for three seasons on Netflix between 2015 and 2018. Despite a change of showrunner and a somewhat troubled gestation period, the new series sticks closely to the dark tone of the original show, and the first two episodes are extremely promising.

Warning: This article contains major spoilers for the first episode of "Daredevil: Born Again."
Fans have spent a long, long time wondering how similar "Daredevil: Born Again" would ultimately end up being to the Netflix show ... but maybe we should've been asking how it would stand out, instead. Much has been made of the creative overhaul behind the scenes in order to transform Marvel's reunion series into one that carries over various elements from its prior incarnation. While that has resulted in the long-awaited returns of Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson and Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Matt Murdock's (Charlie Cox) fellow "avocadoes at law," the new creative team also surprised viewers with one unexpected addition. Those familiar with the Netflix shows probably assumed that they knew exactly how the Man Without Fear's powers would be depicted in this series. They were probably surprised to find out that...

Two well-dressed adversaries sit opposite each other in a crowded diner, with the ostensible hero framed to the left and the villain to the right. They talk about their work lives, commiserate a little about how neither of them really fits into the traditional ideal of having a "regular-type life," and ultimately warn each other to stay in their own lane. There's a veneer of friendliness to their interaction, but it obscures their actual feelings about each other -- and maybe even a whiff of homoeroticism. There's talk about their true natures, and a sense that they share a level of dedication to their jobs that's resulted in strained relationships. If these characters were hacky screenwriters, they might be prone to quote Belloq from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and literally say aloud the phrase, "We're not so different, you and I." There's a sense that even though they're on opposite sides of the law,...

The review embargo for Daredevil: Born Again lifted last night just as the first two episodes hit Disney+. A late embargo isn't always a great sign, but the full season has received a mostly positive response from critics.
We realize a lot (most?) of you don't pay much attention to reviews, but it is interesting to see how the overall verdict on Born Again compares to the Netflix show and its Disney+ predecessors.
Based on 62 reviews, Born Again is currently "Certified Fresh" on Rotten Tomatoes with an impressive 84%. This puts the adult-orientated revival above the second season of the original Netflix series (81%), but below seasons 1 (99%) and 2 (97%).
As for the previous Disney+ MCU shows, Born Again is higher than the only "Rotten" project in the bunch (Secret Invasion), Echo (70%) and Loki season 2, and tied with Agatha All Along.
Loki season 1 (92%)
Loki season 2 (82%)
Ms. Marvel (98%)

Note: This story contains spoilers from “Daredevil: Born Again” Episode 1.
It’s not a proper season of “Daredevil” without a big one-take fight scene — from the iconic Season 1 hallway fight that started it all to the staggering 10-minute Season 3 prison escape set-piece, “Daredevil” has always put a premium on shooting the hell out of a fantastic fight.
Naturally, “Daredevil: Born Again” had to fulfill that promise, and the newly revived series doesn’t waste any time, delivering a big one-er during the pivotal 16-minute opening sequence that sets up the entire season. Directors and executive producers Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who helmed the first and final episodes of “Born Again” Season 1, told TheWrap that their personal style “weirdly jived pretty instantly” and celebrated the “creative freedom” offered to “be bold and to try to continue that tradition from the Netflix show of extremely bold visuals, bold lighting,” and “oners that seemed completely impossible.

Daredevil is back and it’s good to have him. The “Street-Level” shows Marvel produced for Netflix in the 2010s gave us some of the best superhero TV of all time, particularly “Jessica Jones” and The Man Without Fear’s brutal first run.
This Disney+ sequel, appropriately titled “Daredevil: Born Again,” seems a smidge less dark and violent. That could just be because what is essentially the series’ fourth season is nine episodes long instead of earlier incarnations’ 13, which leaves less time for Charlie Cox’s blind Defender with the heightened other senses to break limbs and suffer the lacerations his Catholic guilt drives him to seek out.
But fear not. There are extended beatdowns and gory murders in each new chapter. The real punishment this time around, however, is meted out to the rule of law and political decency in New York City. With endless parallels to what’s going on in Washington D.

The nine episode first season of the Marvel series Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on March 4, 2025 – yes, tomorrow! Although the initial plan was to rework some elements and make Daredevil: Born Again stand separate from the Netflix Daredevil series (despite sharing some cast members), the show underwent a creative overhaul when the writers and actors strikes shut down production in 2023. Now, this series is a direct follow-up to the Netflix series, picking up five years later.
Dario Scardapane, who worked on Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and the Netflix series The Punisher, was brought in to serve as showrunner on Daredevil: Born Again during the creative overhaul.

Marvel has never really felt quite whole since Avengers: Endgame. Perhaps it was the absence of some of the most integral and beloved heroes, the poor storytelling in Phases Four and Five, or the lack of a connective tissue in the new Multiverse Saga. The latter of the three is something that the Russo Brothers are definitely trying to bring back with their much-anticipated return.

As the MCU now prepares for a grand two-part showdown, the studio is at the most crucial turning point in its 17-year-long history. With the failure of the Multiverse Saga, Marvel can essentially kiss the future goodbye. But if the Russo Brothers can really pull off Doomsday and Secret Wars as beautifully as Infinity War and Endgame, the studio will earn back its fans’ love and loyalty.

Daredevil: Born Againfinally brings the Defenders Saga into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. Season 1 of the Daredevil revival debuts on Disney+ with a two-episode premiere on March 4, kicking off a new era in Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk's rivalry. Joining them from the original series are several iconic characters including Karen Page, Foggy Nelson, Bullseye, and the Punisher.
Netflix's original Daredevil series was technically a part of the MCU but relegated to its own corner of the franchise. Now, the series is a full-fledged part of the superhero universe, opening the door to plenty of crossovers and cameos. There are some characters whom fans are dying to see show up in Born Again Season 1.

Daredevil: Born Againis right around the corner, and Marvel Studios are heavily leaning into the notion that this is a new era for Marvel Television. Previously, Marvel fans have seen that the Disney+ streaming shows are treated more like special event viewing, with limited runs, single-season plans, and movie-based setups. These shows were designed to be treated like an elongated film, without all the trademarks of the format that had been previously seen in the Netflix era, and in ABC shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Daredevil: Born Again, by comparison, is scheduled to run for 9 episodes, which is already longer than many of its predecessors. What's more, the series is set to be a follow-up to Netflix's Defenders era, which indicates that Marvel is really leaning into its vault to flesh out the street-level universe that the show will be operating in.

The nine episode first season of the Marvel series Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on March 4, 2025 – and season 2 of the show was scheduled to begin filming today, February 28th! With cameras, presumably, now rolling, Deadline has broken the news that the new batch of episodes brings Matthew Lillard (Five Nights at Freddy’s) into the cast. Details on the character Lillard will be playing are, of course, being kept under wraps.
This is a busy time for Lillard, as he just completed work on the sequel to Five Nights at Freddy‘s and also has a role in the currently-filming Scream 7, playing a character that was killed off in the first Scream way back in 1996.

For Marvel Studios, the past few years have been a period of evolution. Known for its game-changing Marvel Cinematic Universe, the studio brought its multi-billion dollar franchise to the small screen, expanding the world of the MCU via the arrival of multiple TV shows and standalone specials all produced for the Disney Plus streaming service. With the Infinity Saga now closed after the record-breaking finale that was Avengers: Endgame, it was time for the franchise to find new challenges that could reach new audiences.
For the most part, the TV shows have been a success, starting off on a high with WandaVision and producing thrill-rides like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Hawkeye, Moon Knight and Agatha All Along. But the Multiverse Saga as a whole has had highs and lows, resulting in the studio rethinking some of the ideas it had planned for both the big and small screens.

Showrunner Dario Scardapane has said that seven of the season 2 scripts are already “locked, loaded, ready to go” as the production start date draws near, and now cast member Deborah Ann Woll has confirmed that she’ll be reprising the role of Karen Page in the new season!
Woll’s confirmation will be a relief for many fans, who have been worried that Karen Page might not make it through the first season alive. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Woll said, “Oh my God, I can’t wait (for season 2). We’re in the prep phase, and in that phase you’re always just like, ‘Just let me get in a set with an actor, with a director,...

Oscar Isaac has had his thumb in many fandom pies, from the Marvel Multiverse as Moon Knight to the Star Wars galaxy as Poe Dameron. However, his next role might be one of his most iconic characters yet. Although fans know him as Marvel's Moon Knight on Disney+, he's trading the cape for a crown.
Along with legendary performers such as Ben Kingsley, Mark Hamill, and Uma Thurman, Isaac joins a star-studded cast in King of Kings, an animated retelling of the Life of Christ from Angel Studios.
From Moon Knight to Messiah
Premiering this April, The King of Kings is an adaptation of Charles Dickens' Christ story told through an animated narrative. While this isn't exactly new territory for Angel Studios (formerly of The Chosen fame), but this might be the studio's most ambitious project yet, especially given how many Oscar-winners are attached to the project.

The nine-episode first season of the Marvel series Daredevil: Born Again is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on March 4 – and reactions to the first two episodes of the show, which is a continuation of the Netflix Daredevil series and picks up five years later, say those episodes get things off to a great start! Many have glowed about the returning show’s unrelenting rawness, all while it still found a way to mature from its initial run on Netflix. Some of the reactions can be read below.
Although the initial plan was to rework some elements and make Daredevil: Born Again stand separate from the Netflix Daredevil series (despite sharing some cast members), the show underwent a creative overhaul when the writers and actors strikes shut down production in 2023. That overhaul turned the series into a direct follow-up to the Netflix series. DC Studios Rejig Release Slate As James Gunn Gives Updates On Batman, Teen Titans, Clayface And More
Time flies when you're having fun — and when you're trying to build a cinematic universe, too. Somehow, it's already been two years since DC Studios head honchos James Gunn and Peter Safran revealed the roadmap for their newly christened Dcu, announcing a wildly ambitious "Gods And Monsters" first phase comprising 10 projects. Now, as the first major movie from that slate, Gunn's own Superman, gets ready to take flight this July, Gunn and Safran have taken some time to give fans an update on their ever-evolving future plans — including Batman: The Brave And The Bold, a proposed live-action Teen Titans movie, Clayface, and much more besides.
At a gathering of the press last Friday, Gunn and Safran held court to talk films and TV shows that are in production, that need more time, and that are in the early stages of development. On the in production front, as of right...

Without a doubt, Kevin Feige has fumbled with a few of the Marvel TV shows, over time—but it’s Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight miniseries that became the epitome of a failed comic book adaptation. Fans have thus expressed their disappointment in how badly the character was misinterpreted and showcased in the series.

But sadly, Oscar Isaac has yet to receive his Daredevil-like treatment from the studio. Because, according to Winderbaum, Marvel might be planning to bring back Isaac’s Moon Knight, but not for the show’s second season.

It's no secret that Daredevil: Born Againhad a long, winding road to its highly anticipated return. Along with spending a few years lying dormant, the MCU fan-favorite also underwent a creative leadership reshuffle. Many things about the original Netflix series will return and remain intact, including, of course, the core star duo of Vincent D'Onofrio as Kingpin and Charlie Cox as Daredevil. For D'Onofrio, what ultimately made him confident in where things were heading with the Daredevil revival was a critical conversation with a respected colleague and fellow Marvel star: Ethan Hawke.
D'Onofrio tells MovieWeb that he spoke with Hawke, whom he calls "a very close friend" and "one of the most intelligent actors that I know, and probably will ever meet," about Daredevil: Born Again – specifically because Hawke had worked with directing duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead on the Marvel series Moon Knight.

Back when "Moon Knight" first premiered, we praised how few ties the show had to the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It allowed the show to stand on its own, to highlight the gritty and mature story, as well as the weirdness of the titular character. The show stars Oscar Isaac as both mercenary Marc Spector and archeologist Steven Grant, two identities sharing the same body, who investigate a world of Egyptian deities and ruthless killers. This is one of the best shows Marvel Studios has made, mostly thanks to the directorial style of Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who bring their particular kind of weird to the MCU.
It's been nearly three years since the release of "Moon Knight," and in that time there's been absolutely no word on whether that story will ever continue (though Isaac did return to voice the character once again in an episode...

It’s been just over two years since James Gunn and Peter Safran mapped out their initial slate of projects for DC Studios and what would be the newly revamped Dcu, a new interconnected universe of superhero movies and films based on DC characters and kicking off in earnest with Gunn’s “Superman” arriving this summer.
So where do they stand? In a press event last week on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, Gunn and Safran held court with journalists about all they had cooking, the stuff that’s moving forward and the stuff that has lost the wind in its sails or has hit a snag. That included everything from details on the studio’s Batman films — both the Dcu film “The Brave and the Bold” and updates on the non-canon “The Batman 2” from Matt Reeves — as well as a potential “Teen Titans” movie and the update...

We're already closing in on three years since Moon Knight launched on Disney+ and, even if Marvel Studios hadn't changed its approach to small screen storytelling, the moment has arguably already passed for season 2.
Marvel Television's Brad Winderbaum recently confirmed that "There are plans for Moon Knight down the road." Those won't include a second season, though, so what's next for Oscar Isaac's anti-hero? The character is too good to leave on the shelf, that's for sure.
In this feature, we take a look at some of the most exciting possibilities for the McU's Moon Knight. Ranging from team-ups to the impact he could make in theaters, any one of these would be a worthy next step for Marc Spector's multiple personalities.
You can check them out by clicking the "Next"/"View List" buttons below.

It’s been nearly three years now since Moon Knight came to Disney+, bringing the fractured mind and bloodied knuckles of Marc Spector / Steven Grant to our screens. All three of those parts were embodied – in one actual body, no less – by Oscar Isaac in a thrilling marriage of star and role(s), leading a show that mostly found its footing across six episodes. But since then, it’ll been all quiet on the Ancient Egyptian front, with no sightings of the character since. Of course, nabbing the ever-busy Isaac for a streaming series is never going to be an easy task – but it seems the lack of a return for Moon Knight isn’t just because of its A-list star’s packed schedule.

Marvel continues to evolve plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the TV show Moon Knight has now been cancelled.
Marvel Studios is in the middle of a pivot for its ongoing Marvel Cinematic Universe, and while subtly changing the direction of something so large and lumbering takes time, there are occasional markers laid down that give us a clear sense of where things are heading.
One such marker is today’s announcement from Marvel Television executive Brad Winderbaum, stating that Moon Knight won’t be getting a second season.
Prior to the release of WandaVision in 2021, Marvel television was ostensibly part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but any links to the wider series of films were usually pretty spurious. Programmes like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Netflix shows such as Daredevil and Jessica Jones rarely featured much in the way of tie-in material apart from the odd reference to events in the films,...

Moon Knight will return to the MCU, but it might not be in the way fans expected. The titularly titled Moon Knight debuted on Disney+ on March 30, 2022, and was the first MCU Disney+ show not based on a previously established character, kicking off a wave of new heroes being introduced on the small screen, like Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. But it doesn't look like we'll be getting another season of the Oscar Isaac starring show anytime soon.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 is just a little over a week away from hitting Disney+, but fans might not need to wait much longer for Season 2, as it could be coming to the screen way sooner than expected. Originally announced back in 2022 to be an 18-episode season, Born Again was then split into two, nine-episode seasons, with the first part airing in 2025, ten years after Daredevil first debuted. While fans have gotten used to waiting years between streaming series — and in many MCU Disney+ series cases, not even getting a second season — Daredevil: Born Again looks to be the start of a new era, even though it is a continuation of the Daredevil series that aired on Netflix from 2015 to 2018.

The likelihood of Moon Knight Season 2 is not looking good after new comments from one of Marvel's top executives.
After hitting big with Season 1 of his solo series in 2022, Moon Knight has been a virtual no-show in the MCU for nearly three years.
The character's only recent appearance came in the opening episode of the animated What If...? Season 3, but there are no signs pointing to if or when he will be back in a live-action setting. Now, after so much time away, there are legitimate concerns about if and when fans will see the powerful hero again.

Moon Knight has quickly become one of the most popular superheroes in the MCU, thanks to the success of his solo Disney+ series. As with many Disney+ shows, Moon Knight was designed as a limited series with a set number of episodes, following the platform’s common approach.
However, rules are made to be broken. Despite the series wrapping up in a seemingly definitive way, fans have been holding out hope for a Moon Knight Season 2 for quite some time.
About a month ago, director Mohamed Diab, who worked on the show, reignited speculation about the character’s return. He emphasized that nothing is ever truly over with Marvel and expressed his eagerness to be involved in future projects featuring Moon Knight.
While no plans are currently in motion, Diab values his strong relationship with Marvel—leaving the door open for potential opportunities.
Now Brad Winderbaum head of Marvel Studios’ Television & Streaming shattered those hopes.

Rumors that a second season of Moon Knight might be in development have been doing the rounds for quite a while now, but it doesn't sound like we will be getting more episodes of the Disney+ series. Of course, this doesn't mean we won't be seeing Marc Spector (and his various other personalties) in the MCU again.

Marvel Studios has been planning a future for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, full of creative and unique TV shows that would carry on the storylines set forth in the films and perhaps even start some new ones too. We've been seeing plenty of that since 2021, when WandaVision premiered to rave reviews and officially brought the MCU into a new era.
There have been over 10 shows to stream on Disney Plus since then, and they have achieved varying levels of success. Among them was Moon Knight, which also earned praise for how it convincingly brought the titular hero to the franchise for the first time, giving audiences the live-action adaptation that they were hoping for. Oscar Issac played the Fist of Khonshu and his performance received critical acclaim.

The basic concept of Marvel Rivals is very similar to some other hero shooters. However, its Team-Up Abilities feature is what makes it different. Since the game features many popular characters from the Marvel universe, the game allows two or more characters to combine their abilities into a strong single attack. NetEase Games has included some powerful team-ups, but it missed out on some obvious ones, for example, a team-up between Captain America and Bucky.
