For the male stripper group Wet Dreams, business is not exactly booming. The bottom has fallen out of the market for four middle-aged blokes taking their kit off and, after a disastrous booking at a birthday party, it looks like it’s time to call it a day. However, front man Alan (Dean Kilbey) decides to buy out longtime manager Deano (Liam Noble) and can’t believe his luck when he instantly lands the guys a lucrative gig in a rural part of Essex.
Of course, there’s a catch – and what a catch it is. Not only has Alan not read the small print about the specific outfits he and his mates will be required to don, neither he nor his mates is prepared for the part they’ve been lined up to play in a ritual which plans to bring a murdered 16th century witch back from the dead.

Film Bridge After Dark Sets ‘Helloween’ As First Film On Genre Slate With Shogun Films
Exclusive: Film Bridge After Dark and Shogun have set British horror pic Helloween as the first title on their joint slate of genre pics. German distributor Dolphin Medien has partnered with U.K. horror production house Red Shadow Studios on horror films based on public domain children’s properties Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan, it was revealed at the ongoing Cannes film market.
“Winnie the Pooh: Death House,” described by the makers as “The Strangers” meets “The Purge,” is a stylized serial killer slant on A.A. Milne’s beloved character, which recently entered the public domain. The film is written by Red Shadow’s Adam Stephen Kelly and is directed by S.J. Evans (“Dead of the Nite”). The story centres around an unexpected school reunion in a remote country mansion – an event orchestrated by members of a cult who were mercilessly tormented by the guests as children. Now, years later, they’re out for gruesome revenge. Filming is underway at U.K. locations.
Evans said: “The script is supremely clever with scope for iconic visuals,...

James Corden reached for the puke bucket halfway through a PaleyFest event after eating congealed blood pudding with a fisheye skewer rather than say who the worst singer he’d ever had on Carpool Karaoke.
The event was designed to celebrate the end of The Late Late Show and Corden and his exec producers Ben Winston and Rob Crabbe were encouraged by moderator Bryan Cranston to play their own version of Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts.
It comes as The Late Late Show is preparing for its final run of shows, culminating in a primetime special on Thursday April 27 before its final show at 12:37am.
That primetime special will feature Tom Cruise in a special Lion King sketch.
Corden will also host a Take a Break segment during the final weeks featuring the Kardashian family, there will be one more Crosswalk The Musical performance and three final Carpool Karaoke segments.

“The Late Late Show with James Corden” only has 12 episodes left before the show ends its run at the end of April — and they’re making it count. For the next three weeks, there will be one “Carpool Karaoke” segment per week, plus one final “Crosswalk the Musical” segment. Corden will also participate in a “Take a Break” segment featuring the Kardashian family.
The news was revealed Sunday evening on stage at “The Late Late Show with James Corden” panel at the PaleyFest LA. Held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, the event included Corden, exec producer Ben Winston and exec producer Rob Crabbe. Also on stage: Reggie Watts and the “Late Late Show” Band, who kicked off the night.
CBS had previously announced that the last hour of “The Late Late Show,” which Corden has hosted since March of 2015, will run on Thursday, April 27. The network will also run a primetime special that night,...

Some movies just don’t get the respect they deserve, which cues pushy reviewers to sing their praises. Forget everything you’ve read and give this Roman Polanski picture a chance — it’s the classiest Halloween treat ever, a lavish blend of Hammer horror, slapstick comedy and wistful romance — plus a vampire horde more balefully scary than a carload of zombies. It’s the beloved Sharon Tate’s best picture, and its vampire king is an original apart from Bela Lugosi and Chris Lee’s Draculas — an aristocratic one-percenter on a satanic mission to put all of humanity in a graveyard of the undead. Warners’ Panavision-Metrocolor restoration is drop-dead beautiful. And they’ve even revived Frank Frazetta’s original ‘jolly chase’ poster art.

A British horror comedy penned by Danny Morgan, we take a look at Double Date...
British horror comedy is a broad church, and when it comes to the cinema, you could end up with anything from Shaun Of The Dead to Lesbian Vampire Killers. Happily, Double Date, a blokey thriller written by its star Danny Morgan (BBC Three's Ideal) is quite funny and has a certain amount of visual panache, so it lands comfortably in the better end of the spectrum.
Arriving in UK cinemas fresh off a crowd-pleasing premiere at FrightFest earlier this year, the film follows Jim (Morgan), a painfully shy young man who's on the verge of becoming a 30 year old virgin. His best mate Alex (Michael Socha) seems even more exasperated about this than he does. And so, neither of them can believe their luck when stunning sisters Kitty (Kelly Wenham) and Lulu (Georgia Groome...

Better Watch Out
Stars: Virginia Madsen, Patrick Warburton, Olivia DeJonge, Dacre Montgomery, Levi Miller, Ed Oxenbould, Aleks Mikic | Written by Zack Kahn, Chris Peckover | Directed by Chris Peckover
On a quiet suburban street tucked within a ‘safe neighbourhood’, Ashley has turned up to babysit 12-year-old Luke for the evening while his parents are out for a Christmas party night. Ashley is Luke’s favourite babysitter and he’s looking forward to spending time with her again. Suddenly a brick crashes through the window reading ‘U Leave, U Die’ and they hear someone sneaking around the house upstairs…
Where to begin with Better Watch Out? A film that starts as your typical, cliched seasonal slasher: two teens trapped in a house by a madman outside, who eventually breaks in to terrorise his victims. If the film had stuck with that story it would have been, judging by what we saw, an...

Stars: Charlie Cox, Billy Cook, Freema Agyeman, Robert Portal, Mackenzie Crook, Eve Myles, Vincent Regan, Tony Curran, Dexter Fletcher, Ruth Jones, Annette Crosbie | Written by Danny King | Directed by Jason Flemyng
The directorial debut of actor Jason Flemyng, this low budget British horror-comedy has a solid cast and a moderately intriguing premise, but it can’t quite decide whether it wants to go for scares or laughs and ends up falling awkwardly between the two.
Written by Danny King (Wild Bill), Eat Locals (originally Eat Local, with an ‘s’ being added in the marketing stage) centres on a coven of centuries-old vampires – including Daredevil’s Charlie Cox, Doctor Who’s Freema Agyeman and One Foot in the Grave‘s Annette Crosbie – convening for their semi-centennial meeting at a remote country farmhouse. Also present is naïve orphan Sebastian (Billy Cook), who thinks he’s on a promise with vampish Vanessa (Eve Myles,...

Logic needs to be thrown completely out of the window when watching creepfest Within. It’s directed by Phil Claydon of Vampire Killers fame – the 2009 B-movie about lesbian vampires enslaving a village’s womenfolk, only for unlikely heroes James Corden and Mathew Horne to come along and save the day. Indeed, this was well before Corden conquered Tinseltown with his celebrity carpools.
The point is to aim ‘middle-ish’ with Within and there’s enough entertainment and ‘look away now’, jumpy bits to be had. In fact, the whole premise is nicely spun along, namely guessing whether the sinister situation is ‘living’ or ‘supernatural’ in cause. The Alexanders (Vartan, Velazquez and Moriarty) move neighbourhood to a new house whose occupants have long gone, leaving a garage full of memories. Youngest member Hannah (Moriarty) has been grounded after a teenage party, and is given the task of clearing the boxes,...

Stars: Donald Pleasence, Lionel Stander, Françoise Dorléac, Jack MacGowran, Iain Quarrier | Written by Roman Polanski, Gerard Brach | Directed by Roman Polanski
Roman Polanski’s taste for dark absurdist comedy is in full swing in 1966 comedy-thriller Cul-De-Sac. It’s his second English-language film, sandwiched between Repulsion and Fearless Vampire Killers. Compared with his towering classics (and there are a few) it is slight, but even minor Polanski is a joy to watch.
Especially with a setup like this. We open with Dickey (Lionel Stander, the spit of Ernest Borgnine) and Albie (Jack MacGowran), their car sputtering along the Northumberland coast. Albie is dying from a gunshot wound, so Dickey heads off for help, and finds himself on a coastal island, in a castle owned by George (Donald Pleasence) and his glamorous wife Teresa (Françoise Dorléac).
So begins a strange semi-hostage relationship between the very American gangsters and the gentle married couple.

Matt Damon is running toward the rooftop railing of an L.A. building, and people are afraid he's gonna die. James Corden is not one of them. Damon is reprising Jason Bourne, walking fast and looking over the right shoulder of his scuffed brown leather jacket. He then runs into a plump Brit who's dressed exactly the same. Damon smiles. It's Corden, the host of CBS' The Late Late Show, and the proud son of Hazlemere, Buckinghamshire, in England's unfashionable Home Counties. It's an hour before the taping of Corden's show,...

Kiwi spoofers put some bite back into a flagging sub-genre. And the problem with the submarine thriller form…
As sub-genres go, the vampire movie parody has had a remarkably low strike rate, perhaps because the films in the firing line have an inbuilt sense of camp that either resists irony or absorbs it. But over the mirthless corpses of Lesbian Vampire Killers, Dracula: Dead and Loving It and Vampires Suck, a genuinely funny attempt has risen: What We Do in the Shadows (Metrodome, 15), a cheap, chipper exercise in bloodsucker banter from New Zealand that also finds improbable life in the creatively dormant mockumentary format.
Such are the sharply silly comic skills of Flight of the Conchords goofball Jemaine Clement, who co-wrote and directed the film with Taika Waititi; the pair also play half of the film’s mismatched quartet of vampires, sharing digs in defiantly un-moody suburban Wellington. One’s geeky,...

If there’s one thing I love, it’s 1970s made-for-tv horror films. I remember sitting in front of the television as a kid and watching a plethora of films such as Gargoyles, Bad Ronald, Satan’s School for Girls, Horror at 37,000 Feet, Devil Dog: Hound of Hell, Scream Pretty Peggy, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, Moon of the Wolf and The Initiation of Sarah just to name a few. Some of those are better than others, but all were fun.
When I think back, there have been some legendary names associated with small screen horrors. Genre masters John Carpenter (Halloween), Steven Spielberg (Jaws), Wes Craven (Nightmare on Elm Street), Tobe Hooper (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and Joseph Stefano (Psycho) all took shots at television...

John Carpenter keeps his office in a converted hillside Hollywood home, on a quiet tree-lined street evocative of the sleepy suburb Michael Myers terrorized in 1978’s Halloween. Inside, the walls are lined with memories marking Carpenter’s four decades in film: original prints, awards, figurines of Kurt Russell as Snake Plisskin and the Creature From The Black Lagoon movie Carpenter spent years trying to make at Universal, a sculpture commemorating the prankster goosings on the set of his Big Trouble In Little China. Carpenter, 67, chain smokes as we revisit the films that made his career — starting with Halloween, a film originally titled The Babysitter Murders that the hungry young director took after making his debut with 1974 sci-fier Dark Star and honing his chops with 1976’s Assault On Precinct 13.
Carpenter speaks candidly of his successes and failures, and of the health issues that required emergency eye surgery in recent years...

Some quick late day casting news is coming in as Deadline reports that "Bates Motel" star Michael Vartan has landed the male lead in Crawlspace, the New Line genre film that’s directed by Phil Claydon (Vampire Killers) and produced by Peter Safran and Rick Alvarez.
Vartan will play a widower with a daughter (Erin Moriarty) who gets remarried and, after going through a rough patch of unemployment, gets the opportunity for a new start in a new house in the suburbs.
Trouble is, the house has a very disturbing secret from the past that rears up.
Principal photography is set to begin March 24, 2014, in Los Angeles so expect lots more soon.

As reported late last year, Lesbian Vampire Killers' director Phil Claydon has scored the New Line horror Crawlspace for his next gig, under the watchful eye of producer James Wan. As production gets nearer the cast is now starting to come together, and the first announced is Erin Moriarty, lately to be seen as Woody Harrelson's daughter Audrey in HBO's brilliant True Detective.Gary Dauberman (Conjuring spin-off Annabelle) has written the script, which finds a family moving to a new house and discovering, of course, that it’s full of creepy energy from mysteriously killed previous inhabitants, and that the dark secret of the place is still lurking within. Seriously, kids, just don't ever move house. Moriarty's role hasn't yet been specified, but we're guessing she's a daughter in the relocated clan. This Crawlspace is nothing to do with the other Crawlspaces that already exist. It's not a remake of the 1974 TV-movie,...

Earlier this month, Doctor Who history was made with the unveiling of the mini-episode 'The Night of the Doctor', which finally answered fans' questions about the fate of the eighth Doctor, played by Paul McGann.
As the actor with the shortest run in Doctor Who, we had less of an opportunity to get to know him, so we thought it a good time to round up ten things you might not already know about Paul McGann.
1. Paul McGann was born in 1959 in Kensington, Liverpool. He was the third of six children to his teacher mother and metallurgist father. His three brothers, Joseph, Mark and Stephen, are also actors and have starred alongside Paul in the series The Hanging Gale as well as the TV film Catherine the Great.
2. It's not just acting that interests Paul, he's also a keen singer. In fact, having been heard singing in the TV series The Monocled Mutineer,...

Phil Claydon ("Lesbian Vampire Killers") has signed on to direct the horror tale "Crawlspace" for New Line.
Previously titled "Within," Gary Dauberman ("Swamp Devil") wrote the screenplay about a family that moves into a new house and immediately falls prey to strange occurrences.
The film then switches up the traditional supernatural thriller formula, with twists that change both the family and the audience's entire perspective as to what's going on.
"The Conjuring" director James Wan will produce alongside Rick Alvarez.

James Wan has been making the move from horror director to horror producer. He came up with the story and produced Demonic, which should see the light of day in 2104, and it’s been revealed that he’s getting behind a new horror project at New Line.
Titled Crawlspace, the story follows “a family that moves into a new house and immediately falls prey to strange occurrences. But what seems like a traditional supernatural thriller gets twisty when the rug is pulled from under both the family and the audience.”
According to THR, Phil Claydon (Vampire Killers) will direct the movie and the screenplay has been written by Gary Dauberman (Swamp Devil). New Line is hoping to reproduce the success they had with The Conjuring and we wouldn’t be surprised to see James Wan involved in more horror projects at New Line if Crawlspace does well.

James Wan may have ducked out of the horror genre momentarily as a director, but he still has his hands in producing.
THR says that he'll shepherd a film called Crawlspace - no relation to any other horror film before this one that has used that title.
New Line is going to handle the release and Phil Claydon will direct. He also helmed the UK horror comedy Lesbian Vampire Killers.

Though you might be forgiven for thinking that directing James Corden / Mathew Horne supernatural flop Lesbian Vampire Killers would be grounds for a decades-long stint in cinematic jail, Phil Claydon is being granted an early release. He’s set to direct Crawlspace for New Line. The man helping to spring Claydon’s career from big screen limbo is James Wan, who has signed on to produce the film. It’s being primed as another low-budget horror for New Line, in the hopes that it might end up scoring as well as Wan’s recent hit The Conjuring.Gary Dauberman has written the script, which finds a family moving to a new house and – wait for it, you can almost predict this one – discovering that it’s full of creepy energy. However, that’s not the end of the story, because the real dark secret of the place is still lurking within.

Breaking Bad is over and what a finale it was, although it may have been predictable based on what we knew from the flash forward at the start of the season, it still didn’t disappoint and was full of stirring and thrilling moments. More importantly, now that this is over, Netflix crucially need to up their game.
Hansel and Gretel and Texas Chainsaw, two pretty dire entries from earlier this year, just are not going to cut it against Argo and The Perks of Being a Wallflower regardless of who did what at the box office. Netflix seem to have the monopoly on quality catalogue titles this week with some little seen gems with Permanent Midnight and Orange County but this means nothing to the public and mostly registers with nerds like me.
This isn’t a suggestion that the company is in trouble at all but consider what...

James Corden has had his setbacks, but not recently. He is on a roll with a new film and a television series he has co-written. Yet while the critics love him, he can't help but doubt himself. Carole Cadwalladr meets the hardest working man in show business
It amazes me that despite appearing in one of the biggest theatrical hits of recent years, One Man, Two Guvnors, a show that was loved by critics and adored by audiences, that was a triumph in the West End before becoming even bigger on Broadway, James Corden still worries about what people think of him. Despite winning a Tony (beating Philip Seymour Hoffman), and being cast as the lead in a big-budget film by the man who directed The Devil Wears Prada, and winning the leading role in an even bigger-budget Hollywood musical starring the one and only Meryl Streep, despite getting married and having a son,...

Before Britain's Got Talent brought his operatic warblings into the nation's living rooms, Paul Potts was just a man with a dream. A dream of singing loudly, emotionally, and, ideally, professionally. Biopic One Chance is the story of just that, with James Corden playing the tremendous tenor as seen in the trailer below.Joining the Gavin & Stacey, One Man, Two Guvnors and Lesbian Vampire Killers star are Julie Walters as Paul's mum, Colm Meaney as Paul's dad and Alexandra Roach as Paul's girlfriend, with Mackensie Crook playing Paul's best mate and fellow Carphone Warehouse employee. In the director's chair is David Frankel, who previously brought us Marley & Me, Hope Springs and The Devil Wears Prada. Lam Ching Ying is my favorite star in any Horror movie, weather it be taking on hopping vampires or just plain old spirits, no one does it better than lam.
His roles in the Mr.Vampire movies show his skills as an actor, with great comic timing which goes well with his serious acting side, which we dont normally get to see on screen. This role would make him, not just a big star in Asia but also worldwide as the master of Vampire killers.

Initially slated to come at the tail end of this summer, "Warm Bodies" was moved to a release date closer to Valentine's Day presumably to play off its zombie romance center. But judging by this trailer, there might be other reasons it was shifted to an early winter bow. Based on the book by Isaac Marion, the film stars Nicholas Hoult as a zombie, but the twist here is that he has guilt about eating humans. Hilarious right? A further twist comes along when he falls in love with Teresa Palmer (who wouldn't) and then *record scratch* it turns out love is able to heal zombies or something. Uhhh, toss in a mugging John Malkovich as the villain (of sorts), and you have a movie that looks a bit tonally uneven. It's tough to pull off the horror comedy -- for every "Shaun of the Dead" there's five "Lesbian Vampire Killers...

Previously on The Vampire Diaries, the two brothers of the Salvatore clan tried to have a threesome with a viciously bitchy vampire lady, but she turned out to be just that: a vicious bitch. When her doppelganger showed up eons later, the bros thought they'd give it another go, but while getting everyone she knows killed, they just can't decide who gets her first. And then she turned into a vampire, because I mean why not, right? Season 4!
Elena "I Never Move My Face" Gilbert wakes up in a haze with the Salvatore brothers, stressed and confused and wondering if they did anything nasty but they're all clothed so we guess not. Elena's like, "I was in an accident? Sounds fine. Is Matt alive?" Stefan's like, "Yeah, he's alive. You're dead. BA-zing!" The Salvatore brothers high-five. Elena literally freaks out, except I don't know how much you can freak out without moving your body.

On October 8, way back in 1970, Hammer Films released a double bill of The Horror of Frankenstein and Scars of Dracula.
Horror of Frankenstein is one of many Hammer frankenfilms and falls into the mon-com category (monster comedy). Co-written and directed by Jimmy Sangster, Horror of Frankenstein stars Ralph Bates as Victor Frankenstein. Bates was cast to give the movie “youth appeal” and is portrayed as the young, sexy-pants version of the old standard. Kate O’Mara of Hammer’s The Vampire Killers, plays his housekeeper/bed warmer. David Prowse who is best known as Darth Vader in Star Wars portrays the square-headed, muscle-bound monster, who could easily be a WWF star today. He played Frankenstein for Hammer one more time, in Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell.
The general gist of the story is when Victor Frankenstein isn’t killing neighbors to piece together his monster, he’s frolicking with his maid.

Talk about beating a dead horse. In the wake of Shaun of the Dead, we’ve seen our fair share of imitators, from Lesbian Vampire Killers to The Last Lovecraft – i.e. films that pit goofy pals against the supernatural – and Cockneys vs. Zombies is determined to ignore all of them and parade around the screen bringing nothing new to the realms of the horror-comedy or zombie sub-genre.
This latest attempt at a zom-com is severely lacking the wit writer James Moran brought to his previous effort, Severance, and it oozes with stale humor that neither elicits laughs nor smiles. It’s weak sauce across the board and ultimately a disappointment. What it does have going for it is a wide-range of decent zombie FX gags, but from a review standpoint, I think that’s fairly vapid critique. These days there's an abundance of great zombie FX gags. Aside from a quick side trip into family-friendly adventure for Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Dwayne Johnson has spent the last couple of years sticking to big action with the likes of Fast Five, Faster and the delayed G.I. But it appears he may be looking to get back into comedy – albeit macho comedy – for a possible project, as he’s loosely attached to Dan Mintner: Badass For Hire. The Wrap reports that the film, written by Chad Kultgen, has been sitting doing squat thrusts in the development gym for a few years now, ever since New Line picked it up in 2008. Swedish actress MyAnna Buring has had starring roles in The Descent, Lesbian Vampire Killers, Kill List and in both parts of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

Director: Dennis S.Y. Law. Review: Adam Wing. Not to be confused with the shambolic James Corden offering Lesbian Vampire Killers, Lesbian Vampire Warriors actually started life as the less enticing – but somewhat more accurate – Vampire Warriors. Only a fool (or genius depending on your standpoint) would assume that by adding the word ‘lesbian’ you are likely to shift more copies. I mean really, it’s not like I would’ve fallen for that kind of cheap, dirty trick - thankfully I got a free copy so I didn’t have to take the chance. Lesbians are all the rage it would seem, and the vampire bubble hasn’t burst yet, so why not call your movie Lesbian Vampire Warriors? It’s not like you need actual lesbians for the movie to sell (the word lesbian is probably used once), for the most part they don’t even have real vampires – just vegetarian ones.

James Corden has conquered the telly, what with Gavin & Stacey and his appearances on Doctor Who. And he’s also been doing stormingly well on the stage, between The History Boys and his recent Tony win for smash hit One Man, Two Guvnors. But his film career has been a patchier affair. He’s had a few decent roles, in the adaptation of The History Boys and Starter For 10. But he’s also appeared in the likes of Lesbian Vampire Killers and Three Musketeers. His roles in the Mr.Vampire movies show his skills as an actor, with great comic timing which goes well with his serious acting side, which we normally get to see on screen. This role would make him, not just a big star in Asia but also worldwide as the master of Vampire killers.
Other great movies which he starred in (But not in a vampire movie) were the likes of The Prodigal Son, School On Fire, Eastern Condors, The Magnificent Butcher and Painted Faces.

His roles in the Mr.Vampire movies show his skills as an actor, with great comic timing which goes well with his serious acting side, which we normally get to see on screen. This role would make him, not just a big star in Asia but also worldwide as the master of Vampire killers.
