Gozen 0 ji, kiss shini kite yo

At first I thought this was a typical boilerplate japanese school rom-com featuring all the clichés of the genre...and it is. But while it seemed very lazy and uncreative initially, it got better after the first half hour and the story turned out to be a bit more nuanced and versatile than I had originally assumed. It's still quite cheesy and far fetched that a superstar celebrity guy would fall for an average high school girl like that, but overall it was a decent watch.

So far so good, Ryota and Kanna had good chemistry in this movie, and I love it. Im not surprised about the cheesiness in Jdramas - I cringe but its ok. But this movie was really good. they did well! had to put it in my best list. i would recommend this adaption uwu but ofcourse read the manga first, since adaptions arent really portraying everything in the manga

I just love love love the movie. A must watch.

I sympathised with the male lead's character. He was unique but i was amused by his antics. Even though It's tough to understand him but he's passionate about what he feels right.

I liked the female lead's determination and also her naivety. She was naive but strong. She had her own opinions which were different from everyone. I loved her for that.

So a must watch for the manga lovers.

" Kiss me at the stroke of midnight " was an okay rom com.

The movie deals with a typical high school romance that turns everyone's fantasy of a girl next door meeting her celebrity crush, into reality. And, of course, he will like her as well. There were some cute moments, as the couple had chemistry and looked good together. There was some drama too.

But the overall story is predictable and cliche. The characters felt one dimensional, especially the leading lady, with no background, no plans for the future, or actual personality other than the basic cookie-cut one they were introduced with. That is not to say that the actors were bad; they were actually really good and their performances were enjoyable. However, the script didn't allow them to really shine.

So, overall, five out of ten.
